I know that we will have the "Big White Elephant" (Fex-Ex Field) there at its present location, but if you were the owner of the Redskins and were permitted to build a new stadium.......where would you build it:
1. In Maryland (the state that it currently resides in). If so, would you build it in the same location, or a different one?" Maryland has "geographical" benefits, such as being close to Washington D.C. and Baltimore......not to mention Delaware and S.E. Pennsylvania.
2. In Washington D.C. (the city that the Stadium used to reside in). If so, would you build it where RFK currently sits, or another location? Keep in mind, there is not a whole lot of real estate room in D.C. Also, keep in mind that the first name of Reskins is "Washington".
3. In Virginia (the state that the Redskins training facilities are located). Northern Virginia has the most real estate available, plus, it has 3 of the top 10 "most affluent" counties in the entire US.
If I had to pick on this topic, I would have to say my homestate of Maryland.......and we could build a new Redskins Stadium IN BALTIMORE......RIGHT NEXT TO THE RAVENS STADIUM:D :D :D :D!!!! No, in all seriousness, I think that the Redskins stadium should (in all fairness), be in Washington, D.C. I have seen many NFL stadiums across the US, and I must say that there is something mystical about a Stadium in (or near) the "Downtown" of a major city. What do you guys think?????

I would somehow build it in DC, closer to the "mall" so you could see the Washington Monument soaring to the skys!

Being a Maryland taxpayer, all I can say is, I would not want to fund another stadium that gives virtually nothing back to the state, so if we could make some revenue off of it...
But I also think the Washington Redskins should be in DC.

not living in the area, I'm not sure where you could build it, but I'd say the actual district of columbia.
It annoys the hell out of me to hear the NEW YORK Giants playing in New Jersey.
I can understand other cities in that state just using the main city name, but a completely other STATE???? So I think it should be in DC, not Maryland, or Virginia. (otherwise change the name to the Maryland Redskins (which is what it should be right now given that's where we play...of course that would piss me off to no end though!!!)

We are all lucking I'm not the owner........... hell I would move the whole team to Texas. Maybe San Antonio.
In true seriousness, I don't think I'm as qualified to vote on this subject. About Virginia, further South the better.

I'd move it to DC so it would be metro accessible, like the MCI Center...

The stadium belongs in DC. Either at the RFK location or along the Potomac near the Kennedy Center.

Spence, I was thinking like you again. Scary for you....lol
I too think it should be near RFK. I wouldn't want it to be where RFK is 'cause I don't want to destroy the stadium.
But definately, in DC.

I agree it should be in DC. But we Marylanders didn't have to finance Fed-Ex Field, the Squire (Jack Kent Cooke) built that with his own money. We did however, finance The Baltimore Ravens' stadium through Lottery Revenue aka Regressive Taxes.........

Should be in DC.
That's funny because in Freance we had a lot of debate about stadium issues. our biggest and now well-known main satidum is Stade De France. it is located in St-Denis (paris suburbs). Our rugby and soccer national teams plays there and the finals of our national competition takes place there also. it will be stadium for athletics world championship later this month.
The former stadium for all those kind of things is the Parc des Princes which is in paris. the paris soccer teamstill play there. but at a time it was thought to move the team to the new stadium, but none of the fans wanted that, and it had also implications on the name as the complete name of the team is Paris Saint Germain (because of the city of Saint-germain en laye), some pepole wer saying, we have to change the name to paris-saint-denis this kind of stuff. well just about the same stuff...

I'd vote for No. Virginia, but only because it would be easier for me, but I think whereve I put it, I would like to put it on the Potomac. I think it's cool when Stadiums are near rivers or other bodies of water.

I'm not in the area, but conceptually, it should be DC. I have seen both stadiums, and the urban vibe for RFK is far superior. Just being centrally located sounds logical to me as well.

Good lord! Could you imagine the traffic on Rock Creek Parkway? Glad I moved to Austin.

Hey you want to talk about traffic..Austin has some of the worse traffic I have ever seen. Everytime I head to Dallas I avoid I-35 through Austin like the plague. It was voted one year as the one of the worst traffic cities in the country. My sister has lived up there since 79 and I visit her often but man the traffic there is horrible.
