Seems like the reporter wondered how the Redskins felt facing Stephen Davis..........

Steve Spurrier

Q: What are your thoughts about facing Stephen Davis this weekend?

A: We won't even mention who the players are on Carolina to tell you the truth. It really doesn't matter. I doubt he'll play that much anyway. He'll maybe get three of four carries. Nah, we don't talk about that. We worry about ourselves. We got enough to worry about trying to line up and stay onside and pass block and throw it in the right spot and catch it and all that, so we don't need to worry about who the other team puts on the field.

Jon Jansen

Q: What's it going to be like playing against Stephen Davis on Saturday?

A: It will be fun. I wish him well every night that he plays except when he plays us. But he's going to be successful wherever he's at.

Jessie Armstead

Q: What are your thoughts about playing against Stephen Davis?

A: It's just another day at the park. It's like when I was in New York, and I had to face him twice a year. I know the type of back he is. A powerful back, deceptive speed. We've just got to go in there and play smash-mouth football and get to him early and shut him down.

Q: Do you cut him some slack for old times' sake?

A: No, we don't cut him no slack. My feeling is like this: he should be here with us.

Yeah our D should make him feel the pain for not fitting in our offense and being too big of a cap hit.

lol

Thanks, Mike. I think Spurrier is correct. We won't see much of Davis. The Panthers would be crazy to risk him in the preseason.

I agree Spence. But, you never know with the Panthers. I remeber back when the Panthers played to the Jaguars in a preseason game, they both acted like it mattered who won the game.

Perhaps Fox wants to send a message for the regular season. He'd be very stupid if this were to happen of course.....

I remember that game Carmike..that one was unusual because it was the very first game those 2 teams played. Against eachother no less. Preseason or not they wanted to start there franchises off on a positive note.

I like Armstead's honest quotes. He's not going to give the standard issue answer. I'm a pretty big fan of his. A super sure tackler who is always all over the field. I definitely feared playing against him more while in NY than Strahan. Great player.

I also doubt Davis will play much, they need a good look at Foster. Big thing is Davis won't have Jansen when he runs to the right

Yep, they were blitzing the entire game. It was one of the best pre-season games I've watched. Felt like a regular season game.

Skins57, I've heard that Foster is still recovering from his injury. Word is that he may never play again in the NFL. At least thats the last thing I had heard......

So, I'm not sure who they have as a back up...

Carmike I believe they have Dee Brown as their back up.

As for Foster I haven't heard anything about him in TC. I know he had some experimental surgery in the off-season and that's the last thing I heard

If Foster could never play agian that would be terrible I mean that guy had so much potential.
