A complete waste of time, to be sure, especially in April, but here ya go.

How funny is it that the Redskins are still considered the worst team in the division? Good times, good times.

Oh No! We Over Spent, We have no Future, Its All over, Game Over. Never Mind We finished 5-1 in our division. Never mind that we are the only team in our division that legitimately addressed most if not all of our off-season concerns. Never mind we have a Coach who is in the hall of fame and won 3 super bowls with 3 different quarterbacks! The Sky is Falling, The Sky is Falling.
In the immortal words of Eric Cartman, “I hate that Guy"

Prisco is an utter idiot and he has outdone himself with this crap. He has dogged all of our acquisitions without substantial reasons why but highly applauded TO going to Dallas. All of those predictions are hideous, lack substance and intelligence, and typical Prisco ignorance. He is an moron and this is bad even for him. Sportsline would be extremely wise sending Mr. Prisco to the unemployment line quickly.

That's actually good news. He picked us to finish last and we were a home game away from winning the division (Thanks Tagliabue. I thought you were a Redskin fan  j/k). Anyway, Prisco is a tool and his opinions should be taken with a grain of salt.

Power rankings don't mean anything people, this isn't college football. Nobody should care where some "analyst" ranks us. I know its nice to have our egos stroked every now and then, but winning on the field is all I really care about.

As do I but we are way over due for some lost love from these jerks! We proved them wrong last year and I want my pound of flesh! I don’t expect Super Bowl Winner predictions, but we have earned the right as a playoff contender status. Prisco is listing us as the 3rd or 4th team in the east. Thats stepping back down to at least a 6-10 season. That’s just Insane!

I find it comical that his negative mark on Brandon Llyod is that he came from a team that is looking for WR's. We were looking for WRs at the start of FA, I still think teams would like to have Santana Moss...The Panthers need another WR, teams would love to have Steve Smith....Texans and Andre Johnson, Dolphins and Chris Chambers, crap even KC and Eddie Kennison...just because the team is looking for another receiver doesn't mean what they have is bad....and the Andre Carter thing is stupid because he played linebacker when he should have his hand down as and end......Fauria isn't here to stretch the field, he's here to open holes for Portis, Cooley stretches the field, ask Dallas.....Randle El concerns are legit, but he still is an improvement in many areas on our team, and his contract is back loaded so the amount doesn't really matter.

I am getting tired of reading about how Randel El is not a #2. Between he and Lloyd, I'm sure we can field a #2 receiver. And - besides - last offseason, Moss was not a legitimate #1.

Yeah, that's funny. This is probably the only time I've seen a team get ripped for signing what amounts to a backup tightend. If he adds 20-25 catches it would exceed the expectations and needs from his position.

I love how the writer opens up the first few sentences with: "they overpay this.... they overpaid that"......
What the hell does that mean?? We overpaid to keep Gregg Williams?? Uhhh, he probably would have left if we had not paid him so I don't undertand how we overpaid?? Yeah, I know it chaps their backsides, but these clowns need to stop hating on the fact that we got cash and are ultra aggresive with it.
It must bug them to have FA open up and not have some big recruiting circus with lots of teams trying to acquire the same players. Thats where all the sexy stories lie. Like where will TO land?? I bet if we acquired him all we would hear is how dumb this is, and how TO will sabotage this team, and how Snyder just collects trophies. They wouldn't be on our jock like they are on Dallas'.
I keep forgetting. Which NFC East team went furthest in the playoffs and has only improved the roster since?? Please, you media jerks, tell me.

I love how he devotes a whole paragraph to how much we suck.
Quite honestly, I'd like to see how a team run by either Clark Judge or Pete Prisco would do in the NFL. I mean, they might struggle at first, but they'd make a move in 2007 and they'd play hard once the team hired Mike Nolan as head coach.

It's easy to take that negative of an outlook when you have it out for a team. Prisco will eat his words and admit his wrong as he's done before.

To illustrate's Pete Prisco's intelligence, in his list of the NFL's top 100 players he excluded Tom Brady already after he had won a super bowl. Furthermore, he even went on to explain. After Mr. Brady accumlated 2 more rings, Prisco came out and admitted his mistake. People this guy is a complete ignoramus as I do think we all know.

The 14 rank is probably accurate. After our offensive struggles the last few games I'm surprised it's not lower. With the additions at skill positions we really don't know how this year will turn out. If the players can gel as units and ultimately as a team we'll be in good shape.

The biggest signing was of Al Saunders. He is the most significant upgrade this off-season. How do you think the Chiefs had such a juiced up offense? Calling him an offensive assistant greatly under-estimates his impact this season.
This team addressed the two biggest holes in our game with good, young, talented players. None are superstars, but we dumped our worst players and hired much better ones in many spots. Including depth positions.
Finally, what does the "over-paid" (i.e., the tired and over used future cap hell scenario) argument have to do with this season?

Thanks for the LOL. The press hates us for being such a hard organization to get news on (remember last year when a scout leaked that we were interested in Jason Campbell after the trade with Denver but before the draft, when the team picking ahead of us had already announced they were taking a QB. How do I know it was the scout? Two days after the draft he was "let go" without reasons given.) However they do us a favor because people, including players, read them - and underate JG and Co.

that is a lil weird how he doenst really bash anyone else, but writes a long ass paragraph about how we made bad signings. he didnt even look at the signings that well. he says it was a bad pickup to get randle el, even though he was probably the most sought after wr free agent this year. he said that christian fauria doesnt scare defenses, even though hes just meant to be a blocker. we have cooley to scare defenses. he says that brandon lloyd was a bad pickup, even though we need another playmaker to get coverage away from santana. and he even said carter was a bad pickup, which is weird because hes the only guy ive heard say anything bad about him. he forgets about the fact that we have al saunders and greg williams coaching them, and not to mention joe gibbs too. he says the cowboys are ready for a super push, but doesnt say anything about us.

The Cowboys poised to make a Super Bowl push? The only thing any team with Drew Bledsoe as its starting QB will be pushing by playoff time is daisies.
This Prisco guy is poorly informed and seems to have an anti-Washington bias. But, that's actually good for the Redskins. Disrespect can be a powerful propellent for reaching great heights. Look how the lady Terps used that to their advantage! The last thing the Skins would want is for the media to anoint them the NFC favorites (even though in truth that's probably what they should be).

I realize that we shouldnt get fired up about these ridiculous "hater" articles, but I find it interesting when PAID sportswriters fill their articles and predictions with information that is blatantly inaccurate and senseless. For instance:
1) When did anyone ask Randle-El, or Lloyd for that matter, to catch 100 passes? Santana Moss was a world-beater as our ONLY receiver last year, and I'll tell you this right now - if Randle-El and Lloyd both snag "35" balls this year, with Moss's 75+ receptions, I will be one happy camper.
2) What an idiot. "Christian Fauria won't scare anyone downfield." He is a blocker and only a blocker, dumb ass. Who would send Fauria on a deep post when you have CHRIS COOLEY? These dudes do NOT do their homework.
3) I havent heard anything about Archuleta being a poor pass defender, but anyone who has covered the Redskins knows that Gregg Williams system produces superstars. Look at what Ryan Clark did last year. If you are going to mention a specific player's abilities, you HAVE to consider the system he is in.
4) Same with Andre Carter. Umm, excuse me, but the last time Andre played at the true DE position, he had 12 1/2 sacks. Did he even research the guy's numbers?
Now that I have caught my breath again, it is nice to enter the season hated once again. Eventually, they will hate us all the way to the Super Bowl.

The other thing to remember about Randle El's 35 catches is, Pittsburgh only throws the ball 15-20 times a game, typically.

you should put Prickso' sayings in that thread of anti-Skins periphenilia.

No respect, I want to be an underdog, but philly and dallas are higher than us. People quickly forget that we dominated those teams last year.
i get upset when we aren't the underdog, at least in the eyes of the naysayers. I am sure we'll have a few odds for games. Not worried about that or the naysayers. Just love it when they go overboard about us, instead of being realistic.
Carruci's been more even handed lately and his experience is starting to come through in his assessment of teams, players. Occassionally he makes an honest slip, but the measure, like Jaws, isn't far off. Some of these guys I swear, should be in a cornfield, jockeying with the symbolic bird for feed!

I think you're right - "reporters" like these have zero credibility when they don't bother to actually research the league they cover and, instead, just write up the stereotypes about the Skins. It's the same every year - "Snyder spent too much. The game has passed Gibbs by. The Skins will make a lot of money but won't reach the playoffs." Hogwash.

All i had to read was that the dolphins were 5th in the rankings with a quarterback who may not even start the season.
3 New England Patriots 3
They're up in arms in New England because the Patriots haven't spent any money and they have so much cap room. Guess what? The Patriots are being smart as hell again. Don't worry about this group, they'll be just fine.
i just want to point out how ridiculously wrong this is. 3rd in the league? they added no one to replace their losses, so doesn't that make you worse? doesn't it make you worse if you do that 2 YEARS IN A ROW?
ugh... i hate sportswriters
