Every one of our players should have a clause in their contract that prohibits them from appearing on the cover of Madden or SI.

They may go with a young guy. Eli Manning, Big Ben, or perhaps Peyton.

my guess is shaun alexander. the seahawks should have put a clause in that new contract of his that he isnt allowed to appear on the cover of madden at any time.

Its time for a defender to grace the cover again...
So, I'm going to go out on a limb and say it will be either Troy Polamalu, Champ Bailey or Dwight Freeney.
Why not..?

Here's 1 thing to think about the Madden cover guy lately has gone with what they added to madden i.e.
this year QB passing cone hence a qb on the cover, last year was hit stick for the defense hence Ray Lewis a lb on the cover, and in 04 it was Vick on the cover because the big thing that year was you could motion the WR where to go while running with the qb.
I think it will be Shaun Alexander a RB because the new feature will be the NCAA running back control

As long as its not anyone from our squad, them i'm good. Hopefully someone like Eli or TO could grace the cover.
By the way, does anyone know when the game actually comes out???

Supposedly August 1st but that will probably get pushed back.

Supposedly Shaun Alexander told a radio station in Seattle this morning that he's on the cover.
Guess we'll find out if there's any truth to that in a bit.

The Madden cover, just signed a huge new contract, the super bowl losers, loses Hutchinson, can the stars allign any more against Shaun Alexander? Bold prediction: if he is in fact on the cover he won't even sniff 1000 yards.

A torn ACL looks like money in the bank now. The curse of the Super Bowl losers will live on again, hopefully they can beat the Giants first though.

Dude, that division is so freakin terrible, I'm ready to predict the first 6-10 division winner. Oh wait, here comes a Seahawk fan to whine about how his team gets no respect.

Good cause they scare me the most in the NFC. Them and Carolina. Shaun signed his big deal too. It all adds up to a madden year.

Its all about the Cardinals next year hahahaha

I think they were extremely overrated last year. And plus, there was this stat I saw last season showing that in recent years, the Superbowl loser has struggled greatly the year after they lost the SB. For example, look at the Iggles last year, the Panthers, the year before, and the Raiders the year before. And also before that, the Rams.

I hope that we can be overrated next year.......especially if that means we get to go to the Superbowl.
You don't make it to the superbowl and be considered overrated! They did beat us (and yes I know that we played extremely poor that game), and I'm not one for making excuses. So we have to give them their props.

the one exception to that rule would be both teams in the 2000 superbowl.

I give them props for not losing, but you have to admit, they certainly didn't have the odds stacked against them. They sleepwalked through their schedule because of such a weak division and they were fortunate enough to play two teams in the playoffs, the Skins and Panthers, at home who were beaten up and had to fight like dogs to get that far. Any of the other 5 NFC playoff teams (with the likely exception of Chicago who had no chance with Grossman at QB) could have walked as far in Seattle's shoes. Again, I don't diminish their accomplishments, but anyone who says they didn't have an easier road than anyone else in the NFC is fooling themselves.
That's my main fear about this upcoming season when it comes to the Skins. The East and South are going to be grudge matches once again and the teams from those divisions are more unlikely to get first round byes. Teams without a playoff bye have a significant uphill battle when they reach the playoffs.

Well, aside from all the jinx stuff (which would be killing me right now if I were a Seahawks fan), I think it's great that a Seahawks player is popular enough to make the cover..not long ago Seattle was pretty much a forgotten franchise...

On ESPN last night, they showed when Culpeper was on the cover, Faulk, Vick, and Mcnugget. Wasn't Ray Lewis on the cover 3 years back. Didn't he injure his shoulder that year or something?

Lewis was on the cover 2 years ago for Madden 05. I think he was injured the year before or something.

ray lewis was cursed because his team didnt make the playoffs and his production went down. u could pretty much say ray lewis was/is never the same after that year.
