I would love to have D'Qwell Jackson, but I think that sending our 2nd next year would be a bad move.

i like the principle of the deal, but not sure d quell is the guy they would go after. especially since you project hodge to be available at the bottom of round 2...

and do you think that any of the players taken after d'quell have any shot at making the skins final roster.

As long as keep all 47 of our sixth round picks, I say go for it...

isnt lawson a 3-4 LB??? i dont no if he fits our scheme, roger mcintosh, gerris wilkinson and jon alston all true OLB i think would be the pick i see the niners getting him.

every one of them is ticketed for the waiver wire :lol1:

Hate it. We lose another future pick to draft a position that is not of need. Furthermore, I am not sold on D'Qwell after seeing what a bust EJ has been.

that is certainly a concern.. but merriman might take some of the sting out of e j's failure.. also, e j had back problems early on and it is hard to say how much that lead to his diminished performance as a pro

for certain, maryland linebackers to not rise to the perfidy of florida wideouts.. and even there, people are touting chad jackson as a first rounder this year.. so, d'qwell could still turn out to be the real deal.

the larger question is the one you pose. even if he is solid, why add a player to a position not of great need (or project moving marshall back outside potentially weakening 2 positions)... UNLESS... the fact that lemar has undergone shoulder surgery means they might prefer to eventually get him back outside to protect him from the battering a MLB takes... not sure how to answer that one, but on balance i still am not a big fan of moving up to take d'qwell

Not to mention that GW doesn't start rookies immediately, even if they outshine their competition and we are talking about the QB of the defense here. There is no way a rookie could run the D as well as Marshall. D'Qwell would be on the bench for at least a year, probably more.

Yeah I don't like the idea of moving Marshall back to Will so a rookie can step in @ Mike. Marshall had a great year last year and can only improve on that this year. We need to draft an OLB. Unless, the coaches see potential in a MLB that can move to the outside.

There is no way I would mortgage a 2007 2nd rounder to move up for D'well Jackson. He is not close to being worth two second's (both this year and next). On top of that, he is not an outside backer, where the team needs help the most. Further, moving Lemar back outside would be another bad idea. So, for all those reasons, your proposed trade in my opinin makes no sense for the Redskins.

yup.. we saw how quickly mccune was exposed.. he could not even nail down a roster spot to begin with.. and he was no ordinary rookie, he was already 25 years old.. williams schemes have to be tough on the MLB

we draft D'Qwell and people are going to be wondering what we did that for for a long time.. especially if we rob next years draft to make it happen..

my thoughts are moving towards that if we take a linebacker, it will probably be mcintosh at 53, where he represents good value... if we trade up i am thinking it is going to be for someone special. like cromartie- if he is reachable. and that guy is going to be projected to be able to start next season

I would rather say put at #53 than trade away next years 2nd. As much as I like D-Qwell it's not worth it IMO. If Comartie was there that would be another story.
