Ok, I'll give this a shot. I sat in the endzone (behind the yellow line) and had a pretty good view of the practice today. I was very impressed with Robert Royal (88) he had 2 impressive touchdown catches during the drills. He will be the starter at TE. The receiver you guys have been talking about Scott Cloman (19) caught everything that touched his hands. He's huge and looks like a keeper, and will be tough to let go if he has a good preseason. Sultan McCollough (39) caught a nice deep TD from Rob Johnson, has pretty quick feet on cutbacks also. The QB's looked ok at times, the defense pretty much new what play was coming so they definitely had an advantage. Coles looks like Ramseys first option, I dont remember Gardner catching a pass in the drills. Jacobs caught a nice TD during the drills, and caught everything that touched his hands. For that matter, all of the receivers seem to have very good hands. McCants didn't participate in the offense vs defense drills, I think he has some type of leg injury.
Chad Morton needs to be on the field as much as possible. He will give lbs fits in coverage (very quick).

Not a lot of big plays on defense, Champ had an INT. The second and third teams got a lot of work today. There were a lot of people around the ball, which is good to see, but i'm anxious to see them against an unfamiliar offense. Ricoh Joseph (35) caught my attention a little bit, seems very active. Mitchell worked with the first team defense, Trotter did not practice

Smoot, Ramsey, Hamdan, another player I didn't recognize stayed late to sign autographs. Lavar spent some extra time with the fans and then was escorted off the practice field (I'll leave it at that) . Jacobs and Hamdan (very raw) spent extra time on the field after practice.

That's it.

What's the deal with the LaVar being escorted off the field comment?

There was a woman involved, wouldn't want to get anybody in trouble, but I guess its too late. Not somebody you'd want on your bad side.

Yeah, I'm a, uh, naturally curious person, spill the beans here!

Anyway, nice rundown, I'd like to see this Scott Cloman guy in action.

Well since there were 100 other witnesses I guess I'm OK. After signing autographs, a woman with very short shorts, and large proportions escorted him across the practice field. I don't know if this happens all of the time, but I guess the superstars get the perks.

Good report skinnay. McCollaugh may be vying for a practice squad spot over Gillespie. Hell, if he can play ST's better than Cloman, Flowers, McCants and Johnson, maybe the Sultan could make the roster?

Also, Rock Cartwright was getting reps at halfback in the goal line drill. I wonder if we'll see him getting carries in short yardage situations?
