Giants | Team remains interested in Buckner; talks will wait

Ralph Vacchiano, of the New York Daily News, reports the New York Giants are still interested in free agent DT Brentson Buckner (Panthers), but have put off any discussions with him until after the NFL Draft.

Are they trying to load up? Is this guy too expensive for us?....He seems like he can help us out with some dept.

From what I understand of their cap situation, they are in serious trouble after 2006 because of Strahan and Shockey's deals(along with Tiki, Eli, etc etc). Maybe they're doing what Dallas is: loading up for 06 and figure that they will just blow up the team afterwards no matter what.

Yeah, I'm not ready to get into other team's cap troubles considering how sick I am of seeing the words cap hell always used in conjuction with the word Redskins. They might however be trying to buy a super bowl, not with a looming cap crisis in mind, but trying to win one before Tiki gets too old.

From what I heard they were about $3.5 million under the cap before they signed Lavar. If that's the case.....

well they must be 3.4 under after signing lavar...cause his plane ticket was more than what he signed for.....
