Ok the Redskins solved their LB needs with the selection of Rocky Mcintosh.

We now have needs at CB/S/OT/ and possibly TE depending on what Saunders does with the h-back system and Cooley.

Here is what I would do

5th Round Go with best S prospect available. Preferably a guy who can play CB as well

6th Round (2 picks) Go with best OT prospect and best TE prospect

7th Round (2 Picks) Best CB and A Punter to compete with Frost.

Sounds good, do we have any more holes after all this? Doesn't seem like it, looks like were set at every position.

Well with the run on Corner so far i say in the 5th Grab Byrd or a good TE if any are left or take a CB. Then id snag a punter in the 6th and then fill the rest of the draft out wit CB prospects.

Yeah, it'll fill them up, but I doubt all 5 of them will be good, quality players. I bet only one or two of them will actually be on the team in two years.

a defensive end prospect because Griffin and Daniels are a little long in the tooth.

a big blocking TE.

a safety (possibly a big corner to convert to safety).

a center to back up Rabach since Cory Raymer is done and Ben Nowland didnt work out. i'm not sure who we even have at backup center now.

another player from Miami.

Two players I'd be interesting in ......... Rucker (DE) and McPhearson (DB)

i just don't see us going dline at all. Espescially on the End when we already have Carter, Evans, Daniels, and Wynn. Sure Daniels and Wynn are getting up there but Carter and Evans are very young and will play here for a long time.

Griffin is getting old but his replacement may be on the first day next year, not on the second day this year.

This is kind of off topic but I've got a couple of questions about the draft:
1. What happens if the timer runs out (say you can't pick with the 15 minutes that you get)?
and 2. What happens if the player you drafted doesn't want to sign with your team? An example is if Reggie Bush really hates the Saints and doesn't reach an aggreement with them. Where does Bush go? Can any team sign him?

Don't need another LB we are pretty set there.

Did anyone else hear what Trent Green had to say about Saunders yesterday? He was talking about how Saunders came up with a new scheme and gameplan each week and that the Chiefs aren't going to switch the offense around just because he's leaving. Apparently, they don't want to change it since their offense was so great.

1. Ask the Minnesota Vikings

2. Talk to John Elway

In this order:

DB depth (CNY I agree CB/S hybrid would be best, but best available of either works too)
OL depth
P (Joe has almost come right out and said that Frost will have some competition in camp, the draft is as good as anywhere to address that)

or Eli Manning.

the Vikings let their time run out a couple of years ago and i think 2 other teams picked but then the Vikings were still able to pick.

if Bush refused to play there, they would probably have to trade him.

So does the team have to trade him? That really sucks for them doesn't it...

The Vikings, didn't pick in time and other teams just started picking ahead of them and everyone just laughed at them for being so unprepared. In the first round each one of those slots they dropped down is worth quite a lot value-wise.

As far as your other question, they are not required to trade him, but what are you gonna do? you just used the 2nd pick in the draft you gotta get something. If he won't play for you, you should trade him and get somebody who will.

No offense taken...sorry for being so undescriptive:

In the 1983 NFL Draft, Elway was selected as the 1st overall pick by the Baltimore Colts, but he threatened to quit football and play professional baseball if he was not traded (he had by then played two summers in the New York Yankees organization). The Colts traded him to the Denver Broncos for two veterans and a first-round pick in the 1984 draft.

The Minnesota Vikings insisted they got the guy wanted, even though an embarrassing delay cost them two spots on the draft board. Busy talking trade with three teams, the Vikings missed the deadline to make the No. 7 pick in Saturday's NFL draft and took Oklahoma State defensive tackle Kevin Williams with the ninth selection.

1. You still get to pick but the next team that's up gets to put their pick in.

2. If the Saints had problems signing Bush, Reggie could just get traded or wait until next season (if a draft pick isn't signed by Week 13, his name goes back into the draft pool for the next year).

This is my wishlist........ pretty sweet

OG - Max Jean-Gilles, Fred Matua, Rob Sims
OT - Jon Scott
DT - Gabe Watson, Rodrique Wright, Jonathan Lewis, Jesse Mahelona, Orien Harris
DE - Ray Edwards, Mark Anderson, Stanley McClover, Elvis Dumervil
CB - Dee Webb, Alan Zemaitis, Marcus Maxey, DeMario Minter
S - Ko Simpson, Pat Watkins
TE- Jeff King

Get at least five of these guys and I will be happy. One from each position will be perfect. I like Demario Minter the most. A good run supporting CB. We might need to trade up into the 4th round.

Didn't some of us project Jean-Giles as a first-round pick? We could possibly package a 5th and a 6th and trade up into the 4th to get him, or Rod Wright, or Ko Simpson, or Jeff King.

Edit: Never mind, Buffalo just took Ko.

Edit2: Oh, Philly took Max twenty minutes ago. God, I hate Philly.

If a team uses their full 15 minute alloment, they can draft at any time afterwards, but the draft marches on without them.

Regarding a pick that doesn't want to play for team x, the team has his rights and the player would have to go back into the NFL draft the following year. I can't recall it ever happening in the modern era?

I think it may have happened in the late 80's at some point (I wasn't around, I just heard about it) when someone entered the draft two consecutive years.

Didn't something similar happen to Drew Henson? Cause I remember the texans having the rights to him and then dallas trading for him eventhough he was playing baseball? I don't remember.
