Any chance our guys were so embarrassed by tonights showing that it opens their eyes and we bounce back strong next week?

I sure as hell hope so. I know I would be embarrassed by the showing tonight.

Yeah, I'm trying to do something that will help me sleep tonight.

If the coaches didn't want to show much tonight because we play them later on in the year, then we may be in storefor something pretty similar next week against the Pats.

On a side note, I don't think you should play preseason games against regular season foes. It's always been a peeve of mine.

I think if it didn't open thier eyes SS had better open them for them when he puts his foot in thier butt

I agree Kenny. I've never understood why teams would want to play a team during preseason when you play them again during the season.

Neither team is going to show their hand so why play?

I think Carolina showed their hand more than we showed ours. The pulled out a lot more stuff on both offense and defense, at least from what I saw.

The Panthers have a whole lot more to show us, you had better believe that. They are gonna cram Davis down our throats all day long.

Mike, I blame the league for that. They do the scheduling, and it can't be that difficult to line up teams that don't have to face one another again.

Joe, I agree totally. Their D was running stunts and delayed blitzes. They seemed to feel that they wanted to prove a point tonight. What that point was, I'm not sure. They looked to have done it however.

I think the Panthers felt like they had to show their fans more in order to get them to get syched(?) for the season. Plus, they've never beaten us till last night. And they know that the Carolinas have a lot of fans for the Skins...so they kinda wanted to prove a point tonight.

They finally got a win over us. Congrats to them, but next time we see them we have to make sure we put them back under our pimp hand where they belong.

I don't see the problem with playing teams in the preseason that you will face in the regular season. Don't forget the NFL tapes everything and teams have access to all of that film. So if you play another team, they can still see what you're doing and game plan for it.

That is true Mike, but you also have extra tape showing their coaches exactly how their players reacted to certain schemes ran agains them when you play them yourselves in the preseason. I believe that it's easier to adjust to something that you actually went through then to try to plan for something that you saw occur to someone else. Nothing replaces live fire preperation.
