I'm a redskins fan in Atlanta no luck in watching the game. I have two questions, did anyone notice how rookie Dockery did while he was in? And does anyone know where Redskin fans in Atlanta meet?

Thanks.

First Q... i heard he totally let someone go by and harass Rob J on one play...

second... pick up the falcons as your teams... =)

jk...
only one game... preseason at that. Perhaps we can look like junk and play well in the regular season?? yeah... it's the liquor...

Dockery IS only a rookie... we need to give him a chance.

I can't believe how everyone is all ready to throw it in for the season. This was one preseason game and yes, we looked horrible.

Its not time to press the panic button. If this were the first game of the season, then yes. It would be time.

I keyed on players during the evening. During the series I watched Dockery, he blocked his man well. There was a play were the Paqnther DE looped inside and he and Brown missed the switch, but other than that, not too bad.

I'm not hitting the panic button, but I am moving the alert up to orange, because we saw a lot of holes that we didn't expect. We knew our D-line would be patchwork and wouldn't be the best. No surprise there. The surprises came with the many mental errors. Dropped balls, false starts, holding calls...I thought we were going to be a strong mental team this year, but we didn't show it. It's just disappointing to have a whirlwind offseason and come out completely flat.

I agree Champ on the mental part of it. We've been told that that woulnd't be an issue this year.........doesn't look like it so far...

I don't think many people are throwing in the towel, but we saw a lot of bad things we didn't expect. It's not a happy time.

Anyway, yes, Dockery, like practically the entire O-line, seemed to have problems picking up the blitz. Let a guy simply run right by him on one play, and that's the only one that sticks out in my head.

I agree 100 percent JDS, I was expecting much better.

I hear it is only preseason and maybe that is true but I heard the same thing in MArty's preseason also

You are right!!!
1st preseason game or not, we should not have looked that bad. No way you can get around that.

Panic button? Pulleeeze. If we are playing like that in the last pre-season game, then the finger will be on the panic button, maybe not pushing but it will be there. No panic here

To answer the question, I think Dockery stuggled all night. He is young and still learning but did nothing to encoruage a Fiore move to Center.

This is the same guy who some predicted would be a starter at the start of the season. He has a long way to go along with alot others.

Sultan MacCullough was the lone bright spot last night. does anyone think he could be a full-time starter?

I noticed Dockery. Unfortunately the guy he was facing did not.

The ENTIRE O-LINE WAS HORRIBLE!!!!! Dockery, included. I saw him miss some blocks, plus looked completely "lost" on a play or two. MAN, CAN'T WE DO SOMETHING TO COUNTER THE BLITZ????

Yeah, i'm not hitting the panic button, it's still disconcerting to see (or hear) about your team being dismantled. But i do believe we were keeping things underwraps and trying to not get injured.

As far as Sultan... man, i love this kid and there aren't that many people that are more high on him than me... but still i don't see him as a full time back. He got banged up at SC when he was the full-time back. I'd love to see it, he's very strong and very fast... so i do hope he gets a chance to play against better competition and see what he can do.

I dunno about Sultan being a fulltime starter, but at this point he seems to be a keeper. He's got a high upside. It's probably too early for this type of judgement anyway.

Maybe Sultan will take Gillespie's spot on the practice squad. No way he makes the regular roster to start the season. He did look better the Gillespie last night.

I worry that another team will pick him up if we do put him on the PS.

I could see us trying to trade a RB and a DP in next years draft for a quality DT....just a hunch.....

Skinsfan1906

Man, no one HATES the idea of trading Kenny Watson more than I do, but after seeing our DT's get dominated and being encouraged by the running of Sultan (although it was just one game), I am now more "open" to trading Mr. Watson for a decent DT and promote Sultan to his spot. Just an observation.

JoeDaSchmoe

If we trade Watson, then Betts will stay and we'll still have three RBs on the roster.

That was against the same people that made Danny Wuerffel look like John Elway.

Agreed.

Yes the defense has some work to do, and now they should have some film to determine exactly what that is.

On offense, if the 3 dropped passes had been caught, who knows what could have developed from that.

At least there will be no false sense of security developing from this game.

Definately no false sence of security this year robert.

Boys, Boys... if we were to throw in the towel we would have done it long ago, given the past decade, and we'd all be Ravens fans now!!!

I, for one, liked what I saw in McCullough, but even the big boys think he will be cut.

I don't care if it was the 8th string D, Sultan displayed great vision and a burst unlike our 'starter' Trung. Here me now and believe me later: Ladell is our only shot at having a productive EVERY down back. Canidate, Watson, and McCollough are 3rd down change of pace guys at best. RB is a major, major issue for us this season as everyone witnessed on Sat night.

I wont feel better till I see some improvement..I am not asking for them to light it up just play some sound football. I mean the mistakes they were making were just bad.

I, like every one else saw dockery get tossed around like a rag doll. I hope he works things out. Let's all keep in mind that he's just a rook. A 300+ pound 6ft+ rook, but nonetheless just a rook.
