...to their hometown communities. Great stuff, especially since these guys aren't even guaranteed a spot on this year's final roster. You can picture Portis or Brunell with events like these, but it's good to remember that just about all of the NFL's players give to charities pretty extensively. Hope these guys do well in the preseason so they can keep this stuff up!:)

Football wasn't the only topic Saturday. Campbell, another former Auburn player, took several campers aside during a lunch period to give them academic advice. He said education is more valuable than athletic ability because injuries can end a career without warning.
One camper shook his head incredulously, as if ready to challenge the idea.
That prompted Campbell to retort.
"I'm one bad injury away from never playing again," Campbell said. "I studied in school. I know football will end for me someday. I have to be ready. You have to be ready. The good players are smart players."
Glad to see athletes talking about the value of a good education and to be preaching it to our youth. Way to go Jason!

God bless them! Real men! Johnson saw it the way I did with a few teens I helped out, three of them my nephews. You'd be amazed how much that 50-100 bucks assistance helps these guys. Its sometimes the difference in a spirit lifted to continue in life or a test at the ACT to go to college, even if on their own, WITHOUT a scholarship (See Ken Harvey, college and McDonald's :) ).
Thanks for this great and shining demonstration of giving back!
NOTE: Interesting that these same two men are being watched carefully from other NFL teams, because they WILL be on someone's roster at least by mid-season, at the worst.
