View Full Version : Game Balls From The Panthers Game!!!!!!!!!!!

With all of the NEGATIVITY surrounding last nights game against the Carolina Panthers, there was not many positives. If you were in the locker room and had to give out "game balls" (for the Redskins players, that is), WHO WOULD YOU GIVE THEM TO?

As for me, I would give game balls to the following players:

1. Sultan McCollough: Ran well, but did it against their back-ups. Could be a "sleeper" to make the team. Ran with "passion" and determination.

2. Laverneus Coles: Was "wide" open at least twice and made a very nice catch for a 48 yard reception (that might have been a Touchdown if the throw was slightly better).

3. Antoino Pierce: I don't know if you guys noticed, but he was literally ALL OVER THE FIELD. He caused two (2) fumbles and made several tackles.

4. Ade Jimoh, DB (#37): Was called for a very questionable pass interference play, but was blanketing his man for much of the game, plus made a nice tackle or two.

5. Rob Johnson: This might surprise some of you, but I thought that he played rather well, considering this is his "first" time in THIS system, plus, he was running for his life the entire time he was on the field. Still managed to complete 10-16 for over 100 yards. Had a touchdown called back as well. NOT BAD.

Who would you give your "game balls" to????????

OOPS!! I almost forgot to give out one more "game ball".

SCOTT CLOMAN: For HEART alone!!!!! Seemed to be badly hurt, but was back in the game leapin' for balls and stuff. Make a very nice over the shoulder catch. Really looks like he wants to make the team. I don't know if he is better than McCants, or not, but he looks like he can also play.

Yeah, that list seems pretty fair from what i read about. Enough to build on... let's just hope things (like mental errors) get better consistently from here on out.

That should be the emphasis of the rest of the preseason. Good point.

Scott Cloman, Sultan McCullough and Antonio Pierce. Robert Royal also. I think Flemister is going to really have to turn it around to make a case for being a starter. Royal is just more dependable.

Cloman had some nice acrobatic catches. Don't see how we can keep him, but I'd like to. Even Gardner & McCants aren't so hot at those those away from the body catches like that. (that was one thing Westbrook did do well)

I think you have to put Lott in there also. He was invoolved in 2 fumble recovers and I seen him knock hte stuffin out of the Qb once. I like this kid

Agree with the negativity. I thought it was a good sign we pulled all of our starterd early this year instead of playing to half time & beyond.

The kick coverage was the only thing that really left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

If they (the starters) continue like they did last night, then WE MIGHT HAVE TO PLAY THEM FOR HALF TIME & BEYOND!!!

I don't know. George seems to be on a totally different level this year in regards to forgetting names. He's going from bad to worse.

I thought Harvey did well for his first game, and Sonny was simply Sonny.

Geroge Michael is a likeable dope.

Well, I think George Michael is very affable and comes across as friendly on television. He might be a total creep in person for all I know. I've just never thought he knows much about sports. The dude used to be a deejay on NY radio.

"Hey, this is George Michael, spinning the platters that matter!"

I think whoever they get to replace Barker should get a game ball as well...this guy is still shanking em.

Stephen Davis. Oh, was that not an option? Uh, then I'll have to think about it.

One to add to the list is M. Cecere (DE). Played the best of all d-linemen IMO. That might not be saying much but the kid was out there playing hard. .......... Ken and Sonny, I listen to because they played the game (same with Bostic) and know what they are talking about ...... George Michaels is an idoit AND an A**HOLE.

"Where's your defense Ken Harvey?"
"Where's your line Jeff Bostic?"

Give me a break.

skins1906, you list looks about right. there werent a lot pof positives in the game, but one guy i cant wait to see play for real is laverneus coles. he looks fast even when he is stumbling for 18 yards!

I agree, LNRF. I wasn't sure they would catch him even while he was stumbling :D

*lol* I'm for keeping the starters out, throw the pre-season games. It's more about practice than W/L.
