Article from the W.Post...

Article focuses on the D-Line, and I was psyched at this part!

...each player has begun to get an initial feel for defensive end Andre Carter, who signed in March as a free agent.

"Speed, speed, speed," is how Daniels described Carter, whom Redskins assistant head coach-defense Gregg Williams referred to as a "genetic freak." At 6 feet 4 and 265 pounds, Carter is big but lithe. His body fat was measured at 4 percent. A natural defensive end that spent last season in San Francisco at linebacker, Carter spent the last three days familiarizing himself once more with the basics in footwork, but impressed Daniels with his combination of power and speed. The two will anchor each end position.

"We're establishing the bond," Carter said. "So much of the offseason workout has been all-volunteer, but everyone is here. That represents that we all want to be here. This is a brotherhood."

Everyone remember we've got a speed-rushing DE, just entering his prime, on our team this particular season?...

really fine article..

couple of points.. we now have a speed rushing def end for the first time in a long time. should make a tremendous impact onthe defense overall.

also, lavar went on daniels deep sea fishing trip along with a bunch of redskin defenders. interesting is all i can say.

Lavar is probably still friends with all the guys and I think players for the most part have an "us vs them" mentality when it comes to ownership.

Re: the D, I am anxious to see the new pieces in place. I hope it works out well b/c pass rush and WLB are our only weaknesses right now.

If Daniels can play like he did at the end of last year....

considering that he was the only legitimate pass rusher on the d line, adding carter should make him doubly effective without having to resort to blitzing.. that will be a major key

This article definitely gives me that warm & fuzzy feeling inside! This group is building such a bond now, that come season time we will be unstoppable! Carter is going to bring something to this team that we haven't had in a long time! I'm so excited

This is truly the key to the whole thing! It's not so much what Carter brings to this team, but it's what his ability will allow the other players to now accomplish. Daniels was a beast towards the end of the season, as was practically the entire defensive line. Now we will have a very good rotation at the def. line, so there won't be that much drop off when we sub in players.

This in a sentence is the virtual essence of the word "TEAM." Not so much what I do, but how what I do allows others to perform better. Seems like this is a scarlet thread beginning to make its way through all the team. Couldn't be happier.

this article falls in line with the team chemistry thread

4% body fat!!!! for a lineman!! Julius Peppers and Freeney are probably the only other two linemen that low. Kearse was 3 years ago.

Phillip, Andre, Cornelious, Marcus, Chris, Adam. We have some great pass rushing talent now. With all these toys and the master mind Greg Williams i would be scarred as a QB to face us.

He is the biggest defensive acquisition we made this off-season. I am psyched we have 2 of the best boys from San Fran. The addition of Carter will make us downright "DANGEROUS on D".

Let the double-digit sacks commence! [Forget about the "a" whoopings, I'll go for the hits and sacks.]
