The league is pretty standard for yahoo I suggest you all check out the scoring system if you are unfamiliar with it the roster is also a Yahoo standard with an addition of a Flex Position where you have the choice of activating an additional WR/RB. I also made all TDs a 7 to put an emphasis on scoring and decreased the Yardage for WRs and RBs to get 1 point in order to not penalize runners for for not making an even 20 yards and so i didnt have to use fractions....I look forward to the season use this thread to trash talk and update us on your Squads.

So when do we know the draft order?
Right now....In a name in a hat lottery held today by Mrs. Duckworth the draft order was determined...and the first pick of the draft goes to...
1. Redskin Brit- Brit Skin Storm
2. Flave- Jtba
3. Duckin- Duckin the Commish
4. IB27 - Ib27 is a G
5. MWballer- Mwballer
6. FanfromArizona- FFA
7. NCskinFan- Green Machine

10. Redskin Rich - Wasted Warriors
11. Hawgzhead- Yep u just got owned
12. SkinfanJon- Money shots
13. Carmike - Tarheels
14. Joe Joe- Joe Joe
The second round will go in reverse order (joe joe will have first pick in second round, then Carmike,Skinfanjon...etc). only 55 days until the draft so do some scouting and scheming and be ready come draft day so it dosent take an abnormaly long time to draft.

Yuck, can we re-do that name drawing please? :) 11th is just a bad spot. At least if you pick last you get back to back picks and can ruin someones second pick dreams.

Now that guy was a real head ache for me. While I'm in the projected portis spot I doubt he'll be there I have some alternative plans for that spot if he's not there though :devil2: lol.

I am interested to see if anyone takes Jamal Lewis in the first round. I will also be watching the Cedric Benson/Thomas Jones battle in training camp. I drafted Jones in the last round of my draft last year and he helped me out alot.

I think as late as our draft is there'll be less ?'s about Jamal and the Benson/Jones situations than there is now. Thats the good thing about having a later draft.

Yeah i make the draft kinda late, one year i got Penningtened and Vicked so at least this late in preseason most of the major action for the Stars is behind them and some camp battles are figured out.
I think this league is gonna be real interesting and i think the draft may be the most interesting ive done. I wonder where CP and Moss will go and i really wanna laugh at whoever has to pick up some cowboys...Ha Ha come to think of it my buddy Joe Joe (browns fan)might benefit the most from this he could take T.O. in the 5th round and Julius Jones in the 12th probably.

I would like to know what we are going to do about time zone differences?
I want to be present when we do the draft, but a 8 PM EST draft would be 5PM out here, which is when I am getting off work. Is there any way we can get it to be later that day, maybe 30 minutes later or perhaps make it Sunday night [the day before?]
I would prefer not to have to go with my pre-draft selections and would much rather be present and see what is available to get......
how is this going to be handled duckin?

The Redskins have a Saturday night game in preseason week 3 so...
I would be fine with doing a Sunday draft this year on August 27 if it is more preferable to the league. PM me with your time vote this week and i will change it next week to the 27th if necessary or i will push draft time back 30mins for you FFA if i can(i dont want to open up too much of a can of worms here as there are alot of time zones between europe and Arizona) .

LT, Randy Moss and McNabb on their day can be pretty high points scorers. I realise Moss represents a little bit of a gamble but with the last pick of round 2 he is pretty good value I think.
If Tony Gonzalez can grab 6-8 TD's then I will be happy, last year he had only two so we will see.
I am looking for another back as Addai and Anderson have been fairly poor in pre season.

Well guys, I had to auto-pick my draft because I had a money league draft that I am commish of at the exact same time. Even so, I got quite a few players I wanted, and I feel okay about my team. I'll just have to tweak it as the season goes on. BTW, nice team Duckin....looks good.

I'm stocking up on you, I face you in week 11, where you will have Peyton facing the Dallas defense on the road and I'll have Tom Brady facing Green Bay on the road. You probably have the edge at RB with Westbrook at Tennessee, but you never know how he'll hold out with his nack for injuries. Receiver wise you'll be facing some good defenses (Chi/Buff/NYG) and the Giants might be able to put up some points on the Jaguars, especially with some of the losses you've endured on the Jax DLine (Stroud and Petterson).
I have some issues on my side as well, but I guess we'll find out in Week 11, won't we?

Trent Green should be back by then so if I decide not to start Manning I'll have Green against Oaklands D...All your RB's are facing tough defenses and only one is a solid starter. By the way if Mannings facing a tough D thats bad for u since u do own his top two Targets...But ur right we will see Week 11 hopefully I'll still be undefeated then...By the way when u gonna get above .500.

I'm coming for you MW. I have to like how my RBs fared today, I put up 125 points today and that was with Leon Washington on the BENCH! We had some funky games today. I never would have imagined Houston and Oakland shutting down the Jags and Arizona the way they did so today. I have to like the output that Drew, Taylor, and Washington are putting up lately.

On a side note....there hasn't been a single trade in our league! I've put out 5 offers this week but when nobody responded I looked into it and saw that nobody has traded.
If anyone is interested, I'm putting the Baltimore defense, which is #2 in the league in points, along with Chad Pennington, who is putting together a great year so far, on the trading block.
I'm looking for a decent RB in return for either or both of the above. I would be willing to part with Edgerin James as well who has decent numbers but hasn't lived up to expectations if a trade would leave you short a RB. Let me know!!!:drunker:

Ahh, Week 11 is approaching sooner than later. You'll see we are separated by only a few points(4) that week, so I think it's going to be a close one, especially with Philly playing in Tennessee that week [we're in a statistical deadheat in my book assuming everyone hits their projected point level, considering that Baskett will either score a touchdown or have 70 yards worth of receiving instead of his projected 30].
And I am still tweaking my roster, you can expect a few more adjustments before we meet up.

Very true. I'm working on a backup plan as we speak. There's no way I'm benching Jackson, he and Holt have carried my team so far, but I may bench Branch for an extra running back.

While Arizona is falling apart and you do need another RB...I prolly would've gotten more for Baltimore's D which is a big point scorer. Plus Cadillac is gonna be facing tough D's all season, has no line and not much of a passing attack. While Edge will prolly still have some good games against weak D's this season. But well see how it works out for u.

But well see how it works out for u.
Well, there was a method behind the madness! At first I thought I'd be able to cash in on Baltimore's D but then realized that with only 14 teams in our league, almost everybody had a defense that was either good or not worth giving up another player to upgrade. I did try a few times but every trade I tried was declined.
So I figured I'd get what I could since I was going to go with Minnesota's defense over Baltimore's anyway. Why you may ask? Of Baltimore's 90 points so far this season, 53 (almost 60%) were in the first two weeks against Oakland and Tampa! Since then, they've only put up 37, an average of only 9 a week. That puts them in the bottom 1/3 of the league...
As far as Cadillac vs. James, it looked to me over the last few weeks like Cady was gaining momentum and shifting into second and third gear while James looks stuck in nuetral. Williams started slow, averaging 14 carries a game for 36 yards and 2.5 yards a carry the first 3 weeks. After their buy in week 4, he's averaging 21 carries a game for 96 yards a game and 4.6 yards a carry. Compare that to James who's averaging a steady 23 carries for 62 yards and an average of 2.7 yards a carry.
Their schedules are pretty even as well. Caddy has a few tough D's with Dallas, Carolina, Chicago, and Pittsburg but James still has to face Dallas, Minnesota, Denver, and San Diego. Either way, it gives me some options with Caddy, Foster, and Lundy. I could sit one or play all 3 instead of playing 4 recievers and sit Ward or Branch. And just in case I have Cedric Benson if he overtakes Jones as the starter and Curtis Martin who's supposed to start practicing in a week.

And for a minute there last night I thought I was going to come back to defeat JTBA, I was down by 65 going into last night's game and lost by a total of 7 points.
I can just imagine what would have occurred if the Patriots did not fumble down on the 7 yard line and Brady threw another touchdown. Argh, snared by a rookie fumble.
I've got to say my team has been putting up some pretty good numbers recenty, so opponents beware. There's always next week. (And who would have thought Cleveland would stuff the Jets run or the Packers stuffing the AZ Cardinals passing game? On the other hand, Brady had a rather uncharacteristically good day passing the ball around, so I guess I cant complain).

FFA reminded me that Nov 17th is the trade deadline so get your wheeling and dealing done before then...Also it has been asked of me who the champ of this leaque was last year and if it even exsisted. To answer those questions id have to say yes it exsisted last year, but i was an HR newbie and the league was filled with more friends of people i know then HR members (i think the winner of the league from last year was a friend of IB27 or MW baller i am not sure to be exact) however i am considering this the first true year of my league so whoever wins this year has exclusive bragging rights on HR. Ha ha, I was right there with you until both Pennington and Delhomme put up -1 and 0 points last week! I'll have to catch up next week since I have 4 players on a bye this week and will have to have a strong showing from my reserves to stay in the hunt for the honor of the second highest point total. Duckin - 793
Hockey - 774

I just noticed in that matchup if you play Manning than you will nuetralize two of his recievers since he has both Harrison and Wayne in his lineup. So for all the yardage they gain and every touchdown they catch you would be getting points as well.
Of course that also goes both ways and his recievers would basically neutralize Manning who is by far your MVP. Add that to the fact that he has Tom Brady facing a bad Packer defense and we could see a fantasy upset in week 11! Too bad you guys didn't get matched up for this week though for the Manning/Brady showdown in New England...

I *DARE* you to start Trent Green @ Oak that week, especially since that would be most likely his first game back and KC's use of LT. Tom Brady vs Green Bay will be another "torch'em like Minny" day. I know you have other players on your roster (namely one Mr. Westbrook), but you had better hope you have his services this late in the season, especially with a lingering ankle ailment. And according to current projections for week 11 (yeah, I know you don't have Westbrook playing this week) I am leading you by a projected 7 points.
Brian Westbrook's (ankle) status for Week 10 is unknown.
In case you haven't noticed, my team has put up over 120+ points the past two weeks(ranking me at #1 and #3 respectively the past 2 weeks) and with projections pretty close to 100 for the remainder of the season, I am looking forward to the matchup.

With my latest loss coming against JTBA this past week who had the most amount of points this past week [my point total was #3 this week], realistically I've been 3-1 in weeks I was able to be competitive since week 3. My team has been putting up some points lately and as the hunt for the playoffs creeps closer I am sure my players will get utilized more and get me more points. Considering I did not yield many points in the first 3 weeks and to only be roughly 70 points behind the leaders makes me proud of my current team.

You can see why I am happy this week because not only do I have Brady at QB but I also have Harrison and Wayne who are going to light up the Patriots CBs. And if this becomes a close game or one in which Brady is going to have to go series for series with Manning especially at the end of the game I am going to get some good numbers out of all 3.
I am not going to reveal my Week 11 strategy either, just know that I plan to make it a good matchup, even better than his matchup with JTBA this week. To lose by 7 points and have Bryant Johnson and Leon Washington and Chester Taylor provide me with a mere 7 points between the 3 of them was NOT what I had expected going against the Packers, Browns, and Patriots' defenses, and still remain competitive when Ladinian had his best performance of the year? (And I also seem to be competing against people with their receivers having their best performances in MY weeks! Crumpler in Week 7 and Ladinian in Week 8 and I walked out 1-1).

Yeah, I think last week was summed up for me in one play. In the Devner/Pittsburg game with 2 minutes left to go, Hines Ward caught what looked like touchdown catch...but he fumbled on the 1 inch line. That cost me about 15 points.
Our matchup this week looks to be a high scoring one. Your running backs should put up a lot of points against Green Bay and Houston but I don't think Brady or Harrison/Wayne will do much considering New England and Indy should be protecting a lead early and running the ball.
On the other hand, my running backs shouldn't do much aginst Jacksonville and Tampa's defense. But my recievers and QB should put up some big numbers. The Seattle/St. Louis game looks to be a shoot out which would be a good thing for me considering 5 of my 10 starters this week are in that game. I'm putting in Senca Wallace as my QB instead of Plummer against Oakland just for that reason. Not to mention Denver will be running the ball down the Raiders' throats all game.
I'm going with a final score of 125 to 130 but we'll see who comes out on top...:sfight:

I like your recent changes, this is definitely going to be a high point total. Your post reminded me that I have Mike Bell on my roster , thanks for the suggestion  , I wasn't too keen on Leon Washington going up against the New England defense this week. I also was debating the D Gabriel vs Kevin Curtis and decided to go the St Louis way, I do agree that that game will be a high scoring one and I like the fact that Kevin Curtis has had a TD in each of the 3 past weeks.....

I guess we'll find out shortly who the spoils will be going to......good luck.
well I think I am about ready to throw the towel in for this week. I can't believe Denver deactivated Mike Bell for this week's game.....I don't think I have much to hang my hat on in hopes of pulling out a victory.

Wow! We may have an upset in the making......
If I calculate correctly, MW has 83 points and is done, and the Green Machine with Steve Smith left to play tomorrow night with a grand total of 75 points.
Something tells me Smith is capable of 80 yards......
Can we say MW is in a drought?

Yeah, it looks like at this point I'm up about 82 to 69 and I still have Deshaun Foster to play tomorrow night. It's a wierd week for both our teams, how often will Maurice Jones-Drew score as many points as Harrison and Wayne combined (13)? Then again how often will L.J Smith and Minnesota's defense each earn me 0 points? I expected a shootout but it looks like that never happened. I need Foster to get about 18 points just to get to 100...
On a side note, as soon as news broke that Portis broke his hand I picked up Duckett so I am very interested to see how the Skins running back situation plays out. Since Betts is now presumeably the starter, I'm putting the over/under on him injuring himself at the 3rd quarter of next week.

That will shake up the standings a little. It would drop Baller to 8-2 and tied with JTBA who should run away with his matchup this week considering he has Drew Brees (400 yards, 1 TD) and LT (150 yards, 4 TD's).
Since Duckin and Tarheels play each other one will be 7-3 while the other will be 6-4. Even though Duckin had Willie Parker put up 200+ yards and 2 TD's it looks like Tarheels is gonna win. He had Chad Johnson who put up 260 yards and 2 TD's, Big Ben who put up 260 yards and 3 TD's, and Frank Gore who put up 170 yards and a TD. Those 3 alone should combine for almost 100 points!!! If the rest of his team managed just a few points he could make a run at the top "one week point total" currently owned by Duckin and set at 150 in week 9.
That loss would make Duckin tied with me at 6-4 and 2 games out of first assuming that Deshaun Foster doesn't somehow end up with negative 15 points tomorrow night and cost me the win!
Assuming all of this is accurate, the leaderboard would be:
8-2
Baller
JTBA
7-3
Tarheels
6-4
Duckin
Hockey
5-5
RunPassScore
Those should be the 6 teams fighting for the 4 playoff spots and a chance for the title. One or two other teams could make a big push and sneak in but would need a lot of help to do it. There are gonna be some good match-ups here soon that will shake things up even more and seperate some teams up top in the last 4 weeks:
Week 11
Baller vs. FFA
Week 12
Baller vs. Hockey
RPS vs. JTBA
Week 13
Duckin vs. Hockey (possible deciding game for the #4 seed)
Tarheels vs. JTBA (possible deciding game for #1 or #2 seed)

I was just looking at the standings and came here to edit my last post to add him in when I saw yours! After this weekend he's only going to be a game behind me and Duckin for the 4th seed and will be passing me in points this week after being tied going in. He's had two tough losses as well against you and Owned where he put up 121 and 115 points but still didn't get the 'W'.
He has an uphill battle that includes match-ups against JTBA, who has gone 5-1 the last 6 weeks and hasn't scored less than 94 points in that run, and FFA who he beat by only a single point in week 1 and has a team that has the ability to post big numbers in any given week. What he does have going for him is that me and Duckin still have to play each other so one of us is guaranteed at least one more loss.
The way I see it, both you and JTBA are a lock for the playoffs at 8-2 assuming neither of you has a total breakdown and loses the last 4 weeks. With his win this week over Duckin, Tarheels looks pretty secure as well at 7-3 although he does still have to play JTBA and has a relatively low point total that could come back to haunt him. With the losses by FFA, Joe Joe, IB27, and Wasted (assuming Owned gets 4 points tonight from Galloway) they are, pending a miracle, out of the race with a recored of 4-6 and 2 games out of the 4th spot.
That leaves me, Duckin, and RPS fighting for the final spot. Duckin currently has the advantage since he is leading in points and has to play only one team in the top 5 in his last 4 weeks (me). I still have to play Duckin and you so I would consider myself to be the second most likely. RPS is third since he's a game behind. It's gonna be interesting...

You're not kidding...(about Drew faring better than the Colts receivers).
The Indy play this week I think led to Baller and my demise. We each so much invested in the top 3 of that team that anytime they don't put up the numbers we are each going to be in a world of hurt.
I must say that despite my record I have had fun this year and I hope to sport a better team next year.
In any given week, (as we saw this week) anyone, and I mean anyone (looking at Green Machine and Baller) can win a game, after all, we are ALL dependent on the team to make it a shootout. The fantasy records and the pickem records certainly proved that this past week.

Putting your faith in Trent Green?
What are you looking for? I wouldn't give up too much for Manning considering he will probably end up sitting a couple games at the end of the season after they lock up home field. Of course that's right about our playoff time. Also, I'm thinking of going with Plummer the next few weeks. He's point total the last 3 weeks is 61, only 9 points behind Manning who has 70.
From looking at your roster it looks like you could use a top notch reciever. I've got 3. In terms of total points on the year, they are #4, #5, and #11. If you're looking to shake up your roster after the last two weeks and add a receiver who can win a week for you himself, I'd be willing to part with Tory Holt if the price is right. I have a very deep recieving core but am weak at running back while it looks like you are very deep at running back but weak at wide reciever. Seems like the perfect situation for a trade...
I'm thinking something like Holt straight up for Westbrook. The #4 reciever for the #5 running back, looks pretty fair. That would boost you recieving core and your running backs shouldn't suffer since you will have Kevin Jones and Ronnie Brown once your trade with moneyshots goes thorugh.

A trade has been proposed and as commisioner I truely dont feel it is fair. Please explain your positions you 2. Anyone else have a problem with this trade here are the details.
Peyton Manning and Reuben Droughns- MWBaller
Phillip Rivers and Ronnie Brown-Moneyshots
The reason i will disallow this trade unless convinced other wise is that Rivers is 13 and Brown is 36ish in actual rank while Peyton is ranked high it is likely he will be riding pine during the playoffs and droughns is ranked in the 100s.
I dont percieve these 2 as fair value even if you take the possible benching of manning out of the equation.
Pls explain your positions before a final decision is made. Anyone else have a problem with this trade vent here or PM me?

Look at the point totals:
P. Rivers+R. Brown = 274
P. Manning+R. Droughs = 282
Thats just about even...I'm shaking my team up for the playoffs so I can win the championship P. Manning wont be their but P. Rivers and R. Brown will be major players for me during that hopeful run. Manning and Droughs on the other hand will help moneyshots try to try and make the playoffs and help make the league more competitive down the stretch...
I know its a risky trade for me but I'm willing to take that risk and I think its a fair trade and the motives work for both of teams...

MWBaller gets
R. Brown
P. Rivers
I'm looking to make a run at a Championship and can't afford for Manning to drop off on me at the end so I had to sell while I could and I got an upgrade at RB in doing so. Moneyshots is looking to make some noise and make a run at the playoffs and theres only two louder players in the league than Manning. Manning and Droughns should help him to make his push but he'll still need some help. Hopefully I haven't created a Monster!! lol
Ramifications
Moneyshots plays Hockeygoalie and DuckinTheCommish in the next two weeks if he's able to beat those two RunPassOrScore may slide into the fourth playoff spot. On my end this will either end up biting me if Rivers can't keep up the good work and may even end up knocking me out the playoff picture as a whole or it could elevate my team back to where it was and make it even stronger with R. Brown, B. Westbrook, and K. Jones rushing me to the Championship.
JTBA gets

I think Goalie comes out on top of this trade he's been needing a star back all season since C. Williams has been garbage and now he has one to go along with his all star WR trio. The only problem is I see u having to rely on Plummer down the stretch...JTBA I don't really get why u did this u already have Gonzo, even if he misses a game u coulda jus picked someone up off waivers, and D. Foster as well as Carolinas running game hasn't produced all season...If Gonzo's healthy then ur gonna play him over Smith so essentially it turns into J. Addai for D. Foster for you...Bad Move IMO...Ull still make the playoffs due to ur all star QB staff but one bad day out of SD running game and u might be toast since D. Foster likely won't pick up the slack.

I'd say that you are exactly right with your breakdown of this trade. If Indy can run the table the next 3-4 weeks, there's a good possiblility that Manning won't play in weeks 14 and 15 which would really hurt you in the playoffs. Then again, they sat him last year and it backfired so maybe they play him this time around. It will definitely affect your numbers in the next 4 weeks though. Rivers has to play against Denver twice and Oakland once which are two of the top D's in the league while Manning gets Dallas, Philly, Tenn, and Jacksonville which should provide at least 2 big games. And of course if Rivers doesn't pan out you can always fall back on Trent Green who is starting again this week but he aslo doesn't have a great schedule. Ronnie also has a tough schedule 3 of the next 4 weeks going against the defenses in Minnesota, New England, and Jacksonville.
What you do get though is a very favorable playoff schedule from both Rivers and Ronnie. Rivers plays the Chiefs and Seahawks which should both be high scoring games and Ronnie goes up against the weak rushing D's of the Bills and Jets. So, assuming you stay in the top 4, you will have a very tough team to beat in the playoffs. But then again, as you said, this could come back to bite you. You have FFA this week whose team can put up a bunch of points at any given time, me next week, and Owned in week 14 who has had a strong team the 2nd half of the season. You should be safe considering 2 wins guarantees you a top 4 finish and 1 win makes you at least tied for 4th in the standings but first you have to stop your 2 game losing streak.
JTBA gets
D. Foster
LJ Smith
HockeyGoalie
J. Addai
I think Goalie comes out on top of this trade he's been needing a star back all season since C. Williams has been garbage and now he has one to go along with his all star WR trio.
I think this trade works out well for both of us although I'd agree that I ended up with the better deal. Reports are indicating that Gonzalez could be out the next 2-3 weeks which puts a big dent in JTBA's team. L.J. is a decent TE who should put up better numbers than anyone on the free agent TE's. I was planning on using Vernon Davis, who should be coming back this week, at TE anyway the next few weeks so I'm not going to miss L.J. I'm betting that San Fran would like to get a good look at Davis since he hasn't had a chance to play since week 1 and he has a great schedule the next 6 weeks where he goes up against Seattle, St. Louis, New Orleans, Green Bay, Seattle, and Arizona.
You are dead on though with Addai, I've needed a pair of decent running backs all season and I think I finally have them in Addai and Lundy. I've had to use Foster, Cadillac, and Edge all season and they have done nothing except lose me 4 games with their 2-3 points a week. Both Addai and Lundy have come on very strong the 2nd half of the season and look to have big weeks ahead of them. Lundy has averaged 11.5 points a game the last 4 weeks since he has been named the starter and his next 6 games are against the Bills, Jets, Raiders, Titans, Patriats, and Colts. 4 of those 6 are in the bottom 7 in the league in rushing defense. Addai has average 12.3 points a week since he has become a full time player in week 4 and 3 of his next 6 games are against the Titans, Benals and Texans. I also have TJ Duckett and Cedric Benson on my roster who may get significantly more carries in the next few weeks and allow me to swap the two of them and Deion Branch around in my flex spot week to week. Duckett looks to play more with Portis out and Chicago may play Benson more to evaluate him and rest Thomas Jones down the stretch if they can lockup home field advantage. Hopefully now my team will be able to be more well-rounded now and can survive a week where my "trio of all-stars" at WR falls short of expectations.
The only problem is I see u having to rely on Plummer down the stretch...
I'm also not concerned about Plummer, he has had an excellent run the last 4 weeks after a rough start to the year (he's the 7th highest QB the last 3 weeks) and has a favorable schedule during the home stretch. If he does falter, I still can fall back on Jake Delhomme although he has a tougher schedule. I've also gotten a great run from Seneca Wallace who is putting up awesome numbers but would rather have Hasselbeck playing for Seattle who will allow my two Seahawk recievers to put up better numbers since Wallace seems to favor his TE.

There's one more move I'd make and that would be to swap Tory Holt, the #4 reciever, or Hines Ward whose right behind him to a needy team for a top 10 running back. I do agree, especially with the trio of RB's that you have. Each of them gets a healthy dose of passes thrown their way as well as 20 or so rushes a week. The best of both worlds. I came up with a couple of trade packages but neither would make our teams much stronger than they already are so I will probably stay put with who I have. If you're curious, the best package I thought of was: Muhammad/Westbrook for Holt/Addai
While moneyshots did get Peyton, he is now very shallow at RB. As far as our matchup this week, here's how I see it by posistion:
QB: Plummer/Wallace vs. Manning - Manning has the advantage against a weak Dallas defense but either one of my QB's should keep that advantage to a minimum. Plummer is up against a San Diego defense that is missing several players and has given up at least 24 points the last 4 weeks and Wallace is averaging 20 points a week and is facing San Fran's defense.
WR: Ward/Jackson/Holt vs. Henry/Brown/Lloyd - This one is no contest, my recievers are hands down better even if Joe Horn comes back from injury.
RB: Lundy/Addai vs. Edge/Droughns - I have the advantage here to, both my guys are picking up steam while Edge and Rueben haven't done much all season.
TE: Vernon Davis vs. Heath Miller - He's got me here, Miller can put up good numbers while Davis is relatively unknown and may be out of shape from being out 10 weeks.
W/R: Branch/Caldwell vs. Dillon - I'd give a slight advantage to him on this one. I'm either going with Branch vs. San Fran if Hasselbeck is back or Caldwell , who's averaged 11 points the last 3 weeks, against the Packers.
K: Wilkins vs. Kasay/Nedney - Me, Wilkins has scored 30 more points this year than either one of the other guys.
D: Minnesota vs. Baltimore - Draw, Baltimore is a slightly better D but they are up against the Falcons while Minnesota is up aginst Miami.

Thats interesting but I think I'll stand pat...
As far as you vs. moneyshots goes I think its going to be a much tighter matchup now.
Manning is like a gamebreaker and he could really blow up this weekend vs. the weak dallas secondary. But Plummer and J. Walker have been nSync late so that could mean bad things for that SD secondary.
Ur WR's are all killers but his WR's have some very favorable matchups with Henry vs. NO Secondary(CIN jus blew up last week) Horn could blow up against CIN secondary and Philly should be able to run up the score against TEN so that should lead to plenty of oppurtunities for Brown.
RB's I'd say are about even he has the bigger names but they haven't been producing tho...
TE: He has you and ur LJ Smith trade might bite u in the butt here with him likely getting some oppurtunities against TEN while VD might not even suit up. If its a close game ur really gonna miss LJ this weekend.
K and DEF is just a toss up to me....
This should be one of the more interesting games this week.

Gonzalez could be out 2-3 weeks now. Basically my back up TE was Joe Klopfenstein, if you look at waivers there were no TE's worth having, then I saw Owen Daniels after agreeing the trade who i didnt spot at first. Had I seen Daniels when I first looked probably wouldn't have done this. But I am getting about five minutes free time a day right now so I am surprised I am even winning games right now.
The other thing I was wondering was that if Indy clinch a playoff spot before our playoffs you may see addai rested and Rhodes will probably start as he did this past week, and Carolina at 5-4 are going to be scrapping for their lives right until the end.

That would be one of a few upsets in the making this weekend at the top of the leaderboard. Of the top 6, only Tarheels looks like he has the win locked up while the other 5 are crossing their fingers:
Baller is going down in flames with a 3 game losing streak thanks to Brady's 4 TD performance in Green Bay and Ronnie Brown's negative 2 point day against the Minnesota defense.
Owned is crushing JTBA by about 50 points, roughly 75-25. Owned has Tiki and Shockey left while JTBA has LT, Michael Turner, and San Diego's defense. So unless LT scores around 100 points...JTBA will be 8-3 thanks to McNabb and Foster going down with injuries.
Duckin is in a very close match with IB27 which may come down to Javon Walker for Duckin vs. Keenan McCardell for IB27 in tonights game. A loss there would put Duckin at 6-5.
I'm about 9 points behind Moneyshots at the moment thanks to Holt and Ward combining for only 12 points and Jeff Wilkins and Vernon davis laying goose eggs. I would be farther behind but Manning's 2 interception, 1 fumble, and 2 TD performance limited him to only 16 points for Money. But I still have Jake Plummer tonight while he has Brandon Jacobs tomorrow. As long as Plummer doesn't melt down and Jacobs doesn't get 2 TD's I should have a good chance.
RunPassScore may have avoided an upset by Wasted with Lee Evans putting up 35+ points for the Bills since Colston and Glenn were out. Unfortunately for Wasted, he had Hasselbeck as his QB. It will be close though since Rudi Johnson, Thomas Jones, and New England's defense put up a lot of points for Wasted.
So it looks like there will be a 3 way tie for first at 8-3 by Baller, JTBA, and Tarheels. After that, there could be a huge logjam for the last playoff spot which would make the last 3 weeks very exciting!

Well, as an update, going into tonight's game, I am calculating
FFA 106, Baller 41. He has Phillip Rivers to go and I have Jones-Drew tomorrow.
I have to say all these injuries are going to have some interesting effects to the top of the leaderboard, with:
Baller: Losing McNabb will certainly impact Westbrook's numbers. Who knows the effect of today's injury of Kevin Jones?
JTBA: Replacing McNabb's number will be hard, but Brees is no slouch either.
Owned: Losing Jordan might hurt. The Bells in Denver will be splitting time and carries.

Unbelieveable! The Broncos score 24 points but Plummer has NO TD's, only 180 yards, and an INT! 4 stinking points! So unless Brandon Jacobs has 2 fumbles and negative 10 yards tonight, I'm gonna fall to 6-5.
I got screwed by Tarheels though...I was looking through the free agent defenses yesterday morning a little before noon to see if I could improve on Minnesota and saw that Miami was there. I hit the "add" button and then went to NFL.com to check out Miami's stats vs. Minnesota's the last few weeks. 5 minutes later I confimed that I wanted to add Miami and drop Minnesota but Yahoo wouldn't let me, saying Miami was on someone elses roster!!! I was like "what the hell, I already hit add?!?!" and when I looked I saw that Miami had been picked up by Tarheels sometime in that 5 minute gap. Sure enough, Miami's defense puts up 24 points! Since the Vikings D only put up 8, those 16 extra points would have put me up by 11 going into tonights game.:sfight:

Yeah, big day from LT but not big enough to make up for all the injuries on his team. You know, if I can knock off Baller next week and you can beat him in week 14 that might just knock him out of the playoff race! At best he would be 9-5 after starting 8-0....

Glad to do my part, I'll accept thanks in advance.
I do have to say this, 4 in a row or I don't go! Considering I started 0-3 for the season, not bad to be at 7th rank currently.
If I go all the way I may just squeak into that last spot with some of the matchups in the next 3 weeks. The magic number of losses I am setting the over/under is 6 losses.

My team is in a monumental collapse...The only positive that came out of this weekend for me is the emergence of D. Williams...My team has the depth and the right players were just in a huge slump!!!!
Next week Me vs. HockeyGoalie is a huge game for both of us...He needs the win to stay in the race I need the win to stay at the top. Btw Hockeygoalie ur schedule down the stretch is a killer.

8-3
1. Baller
2. JTBA
3. Tarheels
7-4
4. Duckin
6-5
5. RunnPassScore
6. Hockey
5-6
7. Owned (as long as Tiki and Shockey combine for 11+ points to pass FFA in total points)
8. FFA
9. Moneyshots
10. Joe Joe
So this week the top 4 remain the same although Tarheels is now tied for first with an impressive win. Thanks to Chad Johnson, he's put up 139 and 148 points the last 2 weeks after averaging only 86 the first 9 weeks. The point seperation in the top 4 is very close. Baller still leads but JTBA and Tarheels are now right behind him and Duckin is only 4 points back and still has his kicker to play although he is a game behind in the standings.
RPS passed me for 5th place based on total points after my frustrating loss to Moneyshots. Owned, FFA, Money, and Joe all stay alive with a win and remain 2 games out of 4th with 3 to go but will need some help to slip into the last playoff spot. Wasted and B27 both lost and dropped to 4-7 which eliminates them from hope
There are 3 big match-ups next week:
Baller vs. Hockey: I need this to stay alive and Baller needs to stop his 3 game skid and remain on top
Duckin vs. Moneyshots: This will come down to Manning for Money vs. Larry Johnson and Willie Parker for Duckin
JTBA vs. RunnPassScore: JTBA took some big losses with injuries to McNabb and Foster but still has LT vs. Oakland and Brees vs. Atlanta.

Actually I also have Maurice Jones-Drew left to play tonight, so entering tonight's game he'll need to make up Jones-Drew + 11 if he wants the middle of the pack rank (#7).
I also think the last 3 weeks will get interesting as well, because I have faceoffs with Joe-Joe(next week), YouGotOwned (Week13), and RPS to finish the year. I feel like the Washington Redskins here, looking from the outside in with 3 weeks left to play. Losers of the next 2 weeks against me will pretty much have their playoff aspirations ended.

The playoff hunt is on! And as I thought, I have vaulted into 7th place and still have an OUTSIDE possibility of getting into that last vaulted playoff spot, which is what I have my sights set at. And I have just the right people on my roster with the right matchups to get me some points for the next 3 weeks.
If the top 3 and I do our job this week, there is going to be a logjam building up in the next 2 weeks for that prized #4 slot. And dang, it'd be cool to have more teams face off in the playoffs next year. You gotta be GOOD to be the #4 rank out of 14.
This week I will be rooting for a Baller and JTBA to get their mojo back this week and a Moneyshots victory to make records even tighter (and of course a win for me as well!) but not enough points to overtake me.
I also need to keep my eyes on YouGotOwned but I figure that will get decided in week 13 when we face each other. It'd be interesting if the 4 spot gets decided between RPS and me in Week 14 with our matchup.

That was a good showing from Jones-Drew on Monday but I can't believe Tiki only earned Owned 3 points. Either way, it puts you on top of the 5-6 bunch and you're only about 40 total points behind me. My team has struggled the last 4 weeks going 2-2 and only averaged 75 points a week. As a result I dropped from being #2 in total scoring to #6.
It should be interesting to see what happens this week. If Baller, JTBA, and Tarheels win they will be almost guaranteed a playoff spot since they would be at worst 2 games up on the 5th place team with 2 games to go. If Duckin beats Money he will be in very good shape as well for the 4th spot. He would be at worst 1 game up on the 5th place team and since he is leading the league in total points he currently holds the tiebreaker even if someone matched his record.
That's bad news for the rest of us. After losing this past week (I still say I got robbed  ), I would have to win out to get to 9-5 which would include a victory over Duckin. Even then I may end up in a 3 way tie for 4th with Duckin and RPS and I am currently behind both of them in points. Same goes for RPS although he would have to hope that Duckin loses to one of us. You would have to win out, have me and RPS lose at least one game, and have Duckin lose at least 2 games, then hope you can beef up your point total to win a tie breaker. The same goes for the other three 5-6 teams although they have a longer way to go with their points.

On the flip side, if Baller, JTBA, Tarheels, and Duckin were to lose this week it would really tighten things up. There would only be one game seperating the top 6 and FFA would only be 2 games behind the leaders with 2 weeks to go. It's not too far fetched either:
Baller vs. Hockey: Baller is on a 3 game losing streak and goes against my team which has a lot of favorable matchups with Delhomme vs. Wash., Deion Branch and Darrell Jackson vs. Green Bay, Holt and Jeff Wilkins vs. San Fran, Lundy vs. Jets, and Minnesota's defense against the Cardinals.
JTBA vs. RPS: 2 of the hottest teams in the league, both are averaging over 100 points a game the last 4 weeks. JTBA suffered several injuries over the last week losing McNabb, Gonzales, and Foster but still has a strong team (cough cough LT cough). RPS might be without Colston this week as well.
Tarheels vs. Wasted: Tarheels has rode Chad Johnson to two straight victories with 2 straight 40 point weeks. But can Johnson keep it up against a tough Cleveland secondary? He's going to have to since Wasted gets Hasselbeck back this week against San Fran and also has Rudi Johnson, Maroney, Thomas Jones, and New Englands defense.
Duckin vs. Moneyshots: Money is riding an improbable 3 game win streak including wins over Tarheels and Hockey after losing 5 straight to start the season. Duckin is now the league leader in points but will we see the team that scored an average of 121 points the last 4 weeks or the team that averaged only 74 points a week the 3 weeks prior? After losing Huard who was replaced by Trent Green, Duckin must now rely on either a cooled off Pennington or Vince Young at QB. A bad day by either of his stud running backs (LJ and Parker) could cost him the win against Money who recently added Peyton Manning (vs. Philly), got Joe Horn back from injury (vs.Atlanta), and will feature Baltimore's defense against Pittsburg.

No arguments from me on 2 more spots. As I previously said, you have to have a GREAT team (and luck) to get the #4 slot.

Ha ha, yeah it does! 2 more spots would be great since it would allow late blooming teams like RunPassScore, Moneyshots, and FFA a chance to knock out teams that peaked too early...I'm looking at you, Baller! But don't feel too bad, I'm in the same boat :banghead:
I also agree with FFA that luck plays a huge role in where you end up depending on who you match up with week to week. The prime example is you leading the league in points but being only #4 in the standings thanks to a week 10 loss to Tarheels even though you put up 115 points, which was the 3rd best that week.

Our match up this week should be good and I see one of our teams if not both blowing up...
While u have a plethora of nice match ups I have some as well:
L. Coles going against that Houston secondary that Lee Evans lit up last weekend...
B. Westbrook vs the weak run D of Indy and while McNabb being out hurts him a bit I think with him being the easiest weapon for Garcia to get it to he'll get even more looks this way.
R. Brown playing on Turkey Day for his first time and against a D that Arizona almost rushed for 100 yards on and him looking to rebound off his negative yardage performance of last week.
D. Williams against our weak run D spells fantasy success
A. Johnson has been a beast all year

I think Maurice Jones-Drew actually put up the same numbers(12) as Tiki AND Shockey combined(11). MJD had a touchdown while Tiki and Shockey were kept out of the end zone.
I figure at this point, barring a total meltdown, spots 1-3 are basically uncatchable, the only question is what ranking the top 3 will finish with.
Well, I have RPS in Week 14. I faced RPS in Week 1 and lost by a single point, and looking at the matchup for that week I am projected ahead of him by 3 points.
The only thing that might work against me should I somehow manage to get an 8-6 record is my points total. I am hoping that I can put up some high totals in the next 3 weeks to not only win but also get the point total at a decent level.

:banghead: I know man...But I'm hoping that the changes I made with that trade will bring my team out of its slumber this week...Well one of us will atleast get a win...
A. Johnson has been a beast all year
Hey who knows, maybe we'll end up with the leagues first tie! There have been a couple games decided by a single point so you never know. I wonder how that would affect the standings?
You're right, it should be a big week for both of us although I said the same thing about my match-up with FFA two weeks ago and we combined for only 147 total points. Injuries could play a big role in your team this week. Ronnie Brown isn't 100% with an ankle injury, Deangelo Williams will get a few more carries if Foster is injured but they are saying Foster will play, and if I were the Colts I would key in on stopping Westbrook and make Garcia/Feely beat me with McNabb out.
I'm still waiting to see what happens with Hines Ward, who sprained his knee against Cleveland next week and Colston, who may or may not play for the Saints this week after injuring his ankle. I'm either going to start Ward or Copper, who should have big numbers for the 3rd week in a row if Colston is out. I'm also banishing Plummer to the bench after single handedly causing my week 10 loss...

Yeah, believe it or not I drafted Plummer to begin the year and I pretty much benched him and then ultimately dropped him. Plummer is just too risky if you ask me. It's going to be interesting to watch the Colston situation develop. RPS and I will be facing each other to finish the year and we are separated by 1 point in the projections. That kind of injury will also slow Colston down and may affect Colston's productivity.

No arguments from me on 2 more spots. As I previously said, you have to have a GREAT team (and luck) to get the #4 slot.
Laughing about the image of a fight promoter, Hockie is elected for that role.
I thought about adding playoff teams when we started the league because of the amount of players the only thing is the chase for the playoffs is better but it makes for a pretty weird bracket and it adds another week to the system I believe and someone gets a bye (if i remember correctly). It was much neater with only 4 teams but i will look into it again next year (maybe it will be a vote thing).

Surprised that JTBA hasn't changed his QBs yet, especially with Brees on his roster.

Only 6 points from Brown today with 68 yards and no TD's since all three Miami touchdowns were on passes from Harrington. That sucks that he was injured in the 2nd half. Your guys are getting hit pretty hard by the injury bug, especially with 2 of your 3 big running backs going down.

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised with Harrington and Brown today. I originally thought they would have run the ball in the red-zone, and while they tried, they just did not succeed in rushing the ball in the redzone. Thankfully, for me, starting Joey today netted me 26 points.
But of course Joe Joe has Marion Barber 3, who happened to be the star of the second game today, right now I am slightly ahead by 4 points headed into the weekend (26-22). Somehow I see Joe Joe and I in a high-point matchup this weekend. I am glad I took the chance on Harrington and not with Brady going up against the Chicago D.

Starting Harrington took some guts...but it looks like it payed off for you.
The biggest day by far was had by RunPassScore who had Romo put up 5 touchdowns and 300 yards for 45 points and Terry Glen who had 89 yards and 2 touchdowns for 22 points. That's 67 points from 2 players, not bad! JTBA is going to need big games from Brees in Atlanta and LT in Oakland to come back. Another 4 touchdown game from LT wouldn't hurt...

Starting Harrington was a no-brainer for me, it was either him, Brady vs Chicago or Garcia vs. Indy. All 3 were projected at 13 points, so I went with the losest risk, Harrington seems to be on a roll and Detroit is not exactly stout on defense. I also figured that the Miami defense was going to cause fits with the the Detroit offense, and my guess turned out to be correct.
I have to agree with your second paragraph, JTBA v RPS is going to be an interesting matchup this weekend. I am thinking that is going to be another high-scoring matchup.

That's one of 3 matchups that look like they could be close shootouts between good teams. With LT and Brees JTBA is definitely not out of it. The second is between me and Baller, both of our teams feature matchups against weak defenses.
The third and most interesting to me is the Duckin vs. Moneyshots battle. I think Money could be on the verge of a big upset and make it 3 top 5 teams he's beaten in the last 4 weeks. He has Peyton Manning against a struggling Philly defense, a healthy Joe Horn against Atlanta, and Brandon Jacobs who could easily end up with 2 or 3 short yardage touchdowns against the weak Tennessee rushing defense. He'll have to outscore Duckin though who had LJ put up 22 last night. The key I think for Duckin will be how Willie Parker does against the Baltimore defense and whether or not Pennington can regain his early season magic against Houston.
I'll throw your matchup with Joe Joe in as a honorable mention but I don't think Joe Joe is going to be able to keep up with Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison once Manning gets his hands on the Philly secondary.

Duckin/Moneyshots will be another interesting matchup to watch. But I do think Duckin definitely has his hands full. I am surprised to see that Money is playing Edgerrin and Dillon this weekend against the stout run defenses of Minny and Patriots. And I don't see John Kasay kicking too many field goals against us this weekend. So, I also think this is going to be an interesting matchup to watch.

I actually am more worried about Vick and Dunn against New Orleans, I just hope New Orleans shows up in this divisional matchup. 37 points is a lot for Vick and Dunn to get and who knows which Vick and Dunn will show up this week. I do like how New Orleans defensed against Vick in week 3, and if they can slow the game down with Deuce and Reggie, it'll be interesting to watch the stats. Everyone else on his roster does not scare me. But I do like my top 2 receivers going up against Philly, and all of my running back matchups against some of the perennial run-deficient defenses of Arizona, Houston, and Buffalo should bode well for another win.

Dolphins | Brown undergoes surgery Friday
Fri, 24 Nov 2006 13:26:31 -0800
Updating a previous report, Greg Bedard, of the Palm Beach Post, reports Miami Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown (hand) underwent surgery to repair a broken left hand Friday, Nov. 24. Brown fractured the second metacarpal in his left hand during the third quarter of the team's Week 12 game. The team has not specified a timetable for his return but the usual recovery time is one to four weeks.

I'll grant you that you beat me in Week 1, but considering that was Week1 and it was my first game, I'm going to call it rookie mistake. Both of our QB's seriously underperformed. 2 points from Rivers for you and only 8 from Delhomme on my end. Addai last night was great, I needed that, expecially since Westbrook had a good night as well. Your wide recievers looked good this week, you got 34 points from Johnson and Coles. Ok guys, we're coming down to the end now, only two weeks to go! Since I've been dubbed the "official fight promoter", it's time to get this week set up! The playoff race is VERY close now with 6 teams within one game of first place and 9 teams whose playoff hopes are still alive. But before I get into the big matchups this week, let's all take a moment and bow our heads in a moment of silence for FFA, who was officially eliminated from playoff contention after losing to Joe Joe and falling to 5-7 despite racking up 105 points. But don't feel too bad FFA, there's still the consolation playoffs for 5th place!
Although the top 6 spots did not change after last week, they certainly will this week. There are two HUGE match-ups that will make or break the playoff hopes of 4 teams in the top 6: JTBA, Tarheels, Duckin, and Hockey. Two of these teams will put themselves in great position going into the last week while the two losers will be in a big hole. The other 2 teams in the top 6, Baller and RunPassScore, have "lighter" match-ups and will be heavily favored to go into the last week on a winning streak. On to the matchups...
JTBA vs. Tarheels: Everything is on the line here, the winner will have the best record in the league, either alone or tied with Baller at 9-4.The loser will end up tied a game back and right in the middle of the 7 or 8 team log jam for the last 2 or 3 playoff spots. At 9-4, the winner would clinch a playoff spot with a loss by RPS to Green Machine this week or a win of their own next week in the “week one rematch”. The loser would be 8-5 and a win next week would guarantee nothing since the final playoff spot may be decided by total points among 9-5 teams. As usual, JTBA will be counting on LT and Brees to put up big numbers and carry his team and it’s likely they both will considering their up against Buffalo and San Fran. Tarheels, on the other hand, has more of a well rounded team. Roethlisburger, Chad Johnson, Fitzgerald, Frank Gore, and even Cooley are capable of having a big week at any time.
Duckin vs. Hockey: As I've expected for the last few weeks, this is the match-up that has the most implications on the playoffs this year. The loser of this match-up will instantly become the odd man out of the playoffs and while they won't officially be out, would need some help to get in, kind of like the Redskins. What I didn't expect is that the winner won't necessarily be in either! RPS has made a furious charge winning 4 of his last 5 after starting 3-4 and joins Duckin and Hockey at 7-5. Since he's averaged 113 points a week in the process, he could end up moving ahead of the winner of this match-up and into the last playoff spot. As for Duckin and Hockey, both teams have been hot and cold this year, putting up anywhere from 69 to 165 points in a given week. What’s interesting is that if you take away the top 2 performances of both teams (150 and 165 for Duckin, 120 and 139 for Hockey) then both teams are averaging 86 points a week! That shows you how close these two are and it should be a dog fight that won’t be over until almost midnight this Sunday. This is going to come down to the running game of Duckin featuring Larry Johnson and Willie Parker VS Hockey’s air attack featuring Jackson, Branch, Holt, and Caldwell.
As for the playoffs, it is still to cloudy to decipher as there are currently 9 teams still alive. But here is what's going on this week:
Baller needs a win in the worst way to stop his 4 game losing streak and stay on top or else face the possibility of missing the playoffs after starting 8-0! The once high flying team that dominated the league by averaging an incredible 113 points over 9 weeks has fallen back to Earth, only averaging 77 points the last 3 weeks. He’s up against Joe Joe who came out of no where to end FFA’s season by putting up 115 points last week.
RPS needs a win over last place Green Machine to continue his incredible run and to win his 5th game in 6 weeks. A win would put him in good position but a loss would leave him a game out of 4th along with the loser of the Duckin/Hockey battle. He could end up anywhere from 6th place to 2nd depending on how the weekend goes.
Owned, Money, and Joe Joe have their backs against the wall and must win to keep their slim hopes alive. More than likely they are fighting for the 4 consolation playoff spots since even if they do win this week they will likely still be no higher than 7th in the standings going into next week.
Finally, FFA has the opportunity to play spoiler this week and next week and could knock two teams out of the playoff race. A win against Owned this week would eliminate his chances and a win next week would put a dagger in RPS. There’s nothing like playing spoiler!
Ok, that’s it for this week, tune in next week when the playoff situation should be a lot clearer….

Still playing the best way I know. NEVER say NEVER.

Looks like I might be playing the spoiler role today, my calculations are showing me way ahead of Owned. Not trying to jinx myself, but I am up roughly 80-40 at this point, his receivers did not put out the way he was expecting (netting him all of 3 points as of right now). He'll need some BIG numbers if he wants to catch up.

Looks like Joe Joe is putting up monster numbers again, if my calculations are correct, Joe Joe put up a WHOPPING 123 points this week and 1 player(Stallworth) left to play tomorrow. His team has been laying the wood lately. I have Baller at 72 with 2 players(Westbrook and D Williams) left to play tomorrow, but Baller has been hurting lately, if he loses this week, it would be 5 in a row for him.

Wow, we have some unseatings to speak of:
Baller has been knocked out of his top seed down to third place unless he can miracously put up 50+ points to beat Joe Joe. If he loses this knocks Baller down to second place or third (he needs 15 points tonight for second place).
Moving into first is JTBA with a 9-4 record.
Currently in second is Duckin the Commish with his victory over HockieGoalie.
Baller needs 14 points tonight to pass you for second place, and with Brian Westbrook that looks likely.
With the loss Tarheels slips out of the playoff picture into 5th place. He will need assistance from *MOI* to beat RPS next week and a victory over GreenMachine.
And with another fine showing, RPS has vaulted himself into 4th place, with a first week showdown with yours truly, who is looking forward to playing the spoiler role yet again and exact revenge from a 1 point loss in Week 1.
Moving up the board at a nice pace is Joe Joe, who with ANOTHER nice showing this week with 120+ points has vaulted himself into 7th place.
And in my spoiler role, I have moved back into 8th place and ended YouGotOwned's chances of a playoff hunt.

That looks about right, except that RPS is probably going to lose this week to Green Machine. Right now RPS is up by 5 but Green Machine still has Steve Smith and Philly's defense tonight and I would be shocked if he doesn't get at least 6 points from those guys. Here is my preliminary list of the teams sill alive for the playoffs with their current point totals. I'll put up a final version later when I have time to check things out and write up the playoff scenerios as well.
9-4
1. JTBA (1310)
8-5
2. Duckin (1352)
3. Baller (1317)
4. Tarheels (1234)
7-6
5. RPS (1308) - assuming a loss to Green Machine who needs 6 points from Steve Smith and Philly's D to win
6. Hockey (1204) -ugh :banghead:
7. Joe Joe (1077)

Sorry dude, but your receivers got OWNED. :)
It's tough to match up against a tandem of Wayne and Harrison, one of them is always bound to blow the other team up. The exception to that rule seemed to be 1 week ago when Joseph Addai put up 4 TDs against Philly.

Yeah, it's a bummer going into the playoffs as wounded as you are. And you have a good matchup to deal with next week with YouGotOwned.
Don't feel bad, I lost to Joe Joe last week as well, and I managed to put up a 105 spot in the loss. Joe Joe put an end to my playoff aspirations, and this week I managed to play the spoiler with Owned. You just better hope Owned doesn't do the same to you next week.

Apologies in advance. Just playing around here.

1. The baller rule: Don't ask when you will lose if you can't STAY undefeated. :lol1:
2. The owned rule: Don't have a name of YouGotOwned and get owned yourself. :banghead:
3. The God rule: Don't start players on IR. You will not be a God. (IB27 playing Clinton Portis this week).
4. The kick FFA in the feathers rule: Kickers are not allowed to score more points than positional players. ( Nugent putting up 17 points in Week 12).

I'll do my part in trying to play the spoiler role tomorrow, it's going to be interesting to watch Garcia tomorrow, something tells me he is going to light it up tomorrow. It certainly doesn't help losing my workhorse(Chester Taylor), but I still have my other workhorses in Jones-Drew playing with a favorable matchup. And I also have a feeling that my top 2 receivers are going to put points up so that they can win the AFC South.
I know I have my hands full with RPS tomorrow, I have to say if I can finish 7-7 for the year I will be very happy considering I went 7-4 in the past 11 weeks (I started 0-3 for the year).
You will still need to win your game Baller if you want that last playoff spot.
I can't help you there. I am hoping that Garcia and Westbrook will team up tomorrow to put up some points.

Alright guys, we've got one week to go and only JTBA is assured of a playoff spot. That leaves 3 spots open and 6 teams looking to fill them. As of right now, Baller, Duckin, and Tarheels have dibs and all can clinch with a win this weekend. Out on the outside looking are RPS and Hockey who both have a chance with a win and a loss by one of the top 3. Then there's Joe Joe who is still mathematically alive but would need a miracle to grab a spot. Here's what each team has at stake this week:
JTBA: A win today against IB27 locks up the #1 seed. It would also be the upset of the year if IB27 beats him since he is 2nd to last in the league and last in total points, almost 400 behind JTBA. Maybe JTBA should rest some of his starters... :)
Baller and Duckin: The only threat here is from RPS. A loss by either team and a win by RPS would make things interesting. More than likely though they are fighting it out for the #2 seed although a loss by JTBA would vault the winner in first place. It should come down to the wire as they are seperated by only 7 total points for the year. Baller nees a big win this week against Owned to stop his 5 game losing streak and avoid going into the playoffs with 6 straight losses. Meanwhile, Duckin started the week off strong on Thursday racking up 42 points from Willie Parker and Braylon Edwards and goes into the weekend leading 42-0.
Tarheels: Needs a big win this week against last place Green Machine to keep both RPS and Hockey on the outside looking in. A win locks up the #4 seed. Like Duckin, he started his week of strong with Big Ben Roethlisburger putting up 21 points Thusday night against Cleveland.
RPS: Of the three teams looking to fight their way in, RPS has the best chance. He is withing 50 points of Baller and Duckin and is about 80 points ahead of Tarheels so a loss by any of those 3 teams could open the door for RPS. Of course he has to get by FFA first who is looking to go 2-0 in his spoiler role.
Hockey: A string of low scoring in weeks 8-11 really hurt my chances. I am too far behind Duckin, Baller, and RPS in points to overtake any of them. My only chance is for Tarheels to have a letdown against Green Machine since I'm only 27 points behind him. Of course I frist have to beat Joe Joe who beat me in week one with his third highest point total of the year: 112. Then I need some help from FFA since I need him to knock off RPS in order to climb above him for 4th. Having both Hines Ward and Jake Delhomme out this week with injuries won't help.
Joe Joe: Although still technically alive, the chances are very slim. He was hurt severly by an up and down team that put up 98 points or more in 6 weeks but also had weeks with 39, 44, 49, 54, 58, and 66 points. To make his way in he would have to not only win today against Hockey, but he would have to have both Tarheels and RPS lose, than put up 140 MORE points than Tarheels which would more than likely mean being the first team this year to go over 200.
OK, that's it for this week, I'll see you again next week at the start of the playoffs!
***Upon further review, the race for the consolation playoffs is pretty close as well! 8 of the 10 remaining teams once the "real" playoffs are decided are are within one game. While RPS and Hockey are virtual locks if they don't make the primary playoffs, Joe Joe, FFA, Money, Owned, Wasted, and Brit are all within one game and 75 points of each other!

Well it's good to see the announcer back in action.
I have to say I am impressed with the team RPS has assembled. Currently I am computing us at 93-52, but he has 5 people left to play(all starters mind you) against my 1 player left( a third stringer). Tonight's Dallas v New Orleans will determine the winner. I need a passing game from New Orleans and a running game from Dallas to have any chance or a TD to Crayton to negate Romo's effectiveness. Maurice Jones-Drew saved me today with his 31spot.
It's going to be interesting watching the playoffs, there are some nicely equipped teams that will be able to put up some points.

It looks like RPS is going to head into the playoffs with a win. I don't think I have much of a chance, I have a 3 point lead currently that is rapidly on the decline. RPS has 2 players in tomorrow's game, so I am going to throw the towel in right now and congratulate RPS who I think will field a viable team in the championships.
Gents, I have had a fun year, I think this loss will put me out of 8th place and no playoffs at all. I learned alot playing this year and I hope to come back more knowledgeable and with a stronger team next year.
EDIT: I might have miscalculated with Maurice Jones-Drew stats today.....I neglected to calculate for his 93 yard kickoff return for a TD. I *MIGHT* have a chance. I have myself ahead at 100 to 90 with the latest adjustment with him having Robbie Gould and the Chicago defense to play tomorrow.

Well, the preliminary results are in and the playoff scenerio looks like:
Seed 1: JTBA
Seed 2: Duckin
Seed 3: Baller*
Seed 4: Tarheels
Congrats guys!
*Baller still hasn't locked up the win for this week. He's up by 13 on Owned with Muhammad left but Owned still has Steven Jackson. If Baller loses, and RPS can close the 42 point gap between him and Baller tonight with Chicago's kicker and defense, RPS would take his spot and knock Baller out. If Baller wins and Muhammad gets at least 22 points, he would pass Duckin for the #2 seed.
hockeygoalie29
12-11-2006, 08:23 AM
The consolation playoffs are too close to call at the moment but my best guess is:
Seed 1: RPS
Seed 2: Hockey/Joe Joe
Seed 3: Hockey/Joe Joe
Seed 4: FFA
The #1 seed belongs to RPS if he gets the comeback win tonight by closing the 10 point gap between him and FFA. Unless Baller loses as I mentioned above and RPS catches him in points. Baller would then get the #1 seed here and RPS would move up to the "real" playoffs. If RPS can't complete the comeback and FFA wins then it will be more interesting. The #1 seed would go to the winner of the Hockey/Joe Joe matchup and RPS would drop to #2.
Assuming RPS gets the top spot, the #2 seed will depend on the outcome of my matchup with Joe Joe this week. Winner takes the 2nd seed. I need 32 points from Holt, Benson, and Wilkins tonight to get the come from behind win.
FFA should be rooting for Hockey to make the comeback. If Hockey wins it would drop Joe Joe to 7-7 and if FFA can hold on to beat RPS, FFA would take the #3 seed and Joe Joe would get #4. If that doesn't happen, FFA looks like he'll take the #4 seed since all three 6-7 teams lost this week and he has the best point total. A loss by FFA would also make him dependent on the Baller/Owned matchup. If Owned comes back not only could he knock Baller out of the "real" playoffs but would also knock FFA out of the secondary playoffs and take the #4 seed himself.

Damn, I just had a chance to look at how my team did and they took a total crap this weekend. I had Ward and Delhomme out because of injuries but I thought my team was deap enough to overcome it. Guess not. 3 of my starters: Addai, Caldwell, and Copper put up 3 points or less. Right now, my defense is my leading scorer! I have to hope that Chicago gets an early lead toinight so they will be running Benson and St. Louis will be playing catch up by thowing to Holt.
Seriously though, look at these numbers:
Reche Caldwell, who has been Brady's top target lately putting up an average of 5 catches for 82 yards and .5 touchdowns a game over the last 4, gets a lousy one catch for 12 yards.
Joesph Addai puts up a grand total of 22 yards on 11 carries and a single catch for 14. The only rushing touchdown for Indy came from Rhodes.
Terrance Copper, without Joe Horn and Colston who was injured again, grabs one measly catch for 8 yards in the Saints trouncing of Dallas. Brees threw for 384 yards and the quote un quote starting reciever gets only 2% of them.
Thankfully I benched Lundy this week for Benson. Lundy lost all his carries to Dayne, getting just 7 for 14 yards while watching Dayne rumble for 87 and 2 TD's. We'll see how Benson does tonight.

I'm too nervous to jinx myself. I might have a chance, currently he has 1 pt from the kicker and the defense is netting him 4 points, but chances are that point total is going to drop.
I'm wondering, that Hester return TD does not get credited toward the defense, does it? It should go towards Hester himself and against the St Louis defense, right?

Well I just looked at the stats for Jacksonville, who had a MJD kickoff return, they only got 7 points yesterday. I don't think they got credit for MJD's run back, so it does not look like kickoff returns get credited to the defense.

Well that interception just killed me. And the missed extra point was the nailbiter. If I had gotten to 28, we would have had a tie game at 100.
And you want to talk about a double-knockout punch, with the defeat of Baller, You Got Owned not only beat Baller to send him spiraling downward (six weeks worth of losses), but he also knocked me out with his 7-7 record.
My calculations show Owned winning tonight by 2 points, 96-94 with the strong performance put up by Steven Jackson.
And I do have to say, some of my players are definite grabbers with some of the matchups coming up.
Tom Brady taking on Houston this week, M Harrison and R Wayne taking on Cincy, and Chester Taylor taking on the Jets and Maurice Jones-Drew at Tennessee, some pretty good players are up for grabs.

Man, you needed 25 points form Steven Jackson to tie and got 27...lucky guy. That punk stole 2 touchdowns from Holt in a game I lost by a point! I needed 31 from 3 players in that game and got 30.
It looks like you earned yourself 2 more weeks with that performance...maybe we'll meet next week so I can extract revenge on Jackson! Ha ha.

So, after that 6 game losing streak, how do you feel about the trade you made? Ronnie Brown hasn't done a thing for you so essentially it ended up being Payton for Rivers. Not to mention that Indy won't be resting any starters after losing a few games so you're missing out on the Indy vs. Cincy matchup this weekend!

6 game loosing streak  !!
Yea I looked at that joint the other day so far:
P. Rivers and R. Brown have supplied me with 58 pts
while
P. Manning and R. Droughns have put up 76 pts...
So far its not looking so good but I have hope that if I can make it to the Championship R. Brown will show up for me in a big way...btw b4 I made the trade I was already on a 2-3 game loosing streak...

You know, after looking back on it I don't think it made a difference what so ever. In the 4 losses you've had after the trade, you still would have lost with Manning and Droughns. I think you just got unlucky and were matched up against teams that had one of their best weeks when they played you. Although two of your 6 losses were because you had a bad week (weeks 10 and 11), your lowest point total in the other 4 losses was 90. That should have won at least 3 of the 4 weeks for you.
Check it out:
Week 9: Lost to JTBA 115-142: JTBA's highest total of the year
Week 10: Lost to Green Machine 77-101: GM's 2nd best week of the year
Week 11: Lost to FFA 65-117: FFA's 3rd best week of the year
Week 12: Lost to Hockey 90-114: Hockey's 3rd best week of the year
Week 13: Lost to Joe Joe: Joe Joe's highest total of the year
Week 14: Lost to Owned 94-94: Owned's 5th best week of the year

Yeah, its hard when you're on the outside looking in, I would have been licking my chops for that game with Harrison and Wayne on my team.
And I hate to tell you, but Joe Joe has got you soundly beat unless Joseph Addai puts up MONSTER numbers ( I mean to the tune of what MJD did for me last week). And Joe Joe still has Antonio Gates left to play tonight, Joe Joe is on track to put up 100+ points.

So I quietly slip into the final as league champion. My best decision during the draft was to pick up Drew Brees in the 9th. When McNabb went down he stepped in. Also it never hurts to have LT, what a player. My best other decision was to drop Tampa and pick up San Diego they gave me 139 Valuable Points this year. Its feasible if Chad Johnson has a big game tonight I will meet Tarheels in the final, otherwise it is the Commisioner. I want to thank him for putting the work in here and now.

Unlucky and my teams fallen apart...Rivers -1 points killed me I might as well have picked up JC cuz he's played better down the stretch than him...awww well missing manning and still on a loosing streak!!! Hopefully I can win my last game of the season and lock up 3rd place!!!

Dude, you've always had a good team. My best week was against you and you STILL managed to beat me by 8 points. I actaully thought I had a chance to beat you that week.
It never hurts to have LT on your team and the first pick in the draft.....
you realize now that everybody will be gunning for you next year, don't you?

I guess Murphy law *IS* real and does exist? When you wish to have a losing streak [see post 51] Murphy's law creeps up and doesn't let you win, does it?

Wow, Manning put up 38 points last night....39 more than Rivers! That would have given you 124, crushing JTBA on your way to the championship.

So it is all down to Chad Pennington and Randy McMichael. 64 Points in the hole, one game to play. Hey everything is possible, there have been some great shootouts between these two teams in the past, I think Duckin needs a Monday night classic to win.

also thx for playing guys. I'll have you guys know this is the finest and funnest league i have ever played in. You will all be invited back next year and i hope you will again have time for it. Any suggestions on how to make next year better? also how do you guys want to determine Draft postion next year do you all think we should go reverse order from this year or is the name in a hat the best way to go(im ok with either although the reverse order thing might lead to managers tanking it late next season in hopes of the same situation next year)?

Overall I think everything went wonderfully. Keep the draft day as late as possible and as close to the regular season. I also liked the playoff scenario, with playoff possibilities for the top 8 [ARGH on being demoted to #9 place and losing by 1 point twice in the season and both to the same guy: I'm coming after you RPS next year!]
Duckin, everything went perfectly. Don't change a thing. I think we should go with the name in the hat approach again.
The only thing that I was surprised about (don't know if this is possible either) is that players on non-playoff teams don't go back into the available players slot, I checked out my roster on Week 15, some of my players had MONSTER games that week and would have helped somebody's else team. In fact, my team would have beaten everyone's output that week with a combined total of 125 points for Week15.
I realize this idea will open up a pandora's box of issues as in how to delegate the players amongst the playoff people, but it's just an idea.
So I guess now, JTBA is the champ with the bullseye affixed.
