Mark Maske, of the Washington Post, reports the Washington Redskins plan to re-sign FB Thad Buttone.

Why are they doing that? For practice squad or special teams? he won't get any time at FB behind BJ and Rock.

I don't think we need Butt one. That's just a waste of a roster spot, but I can't imagine keeping 3 FBs instead of keeping 4 RBs.

He knows the system so he's a valuable practice player. Stick him on the practice squad for one more year and promote him if Bryan Johnson leaves.
