I'm very excited about the Redskins on this year's game. They gave more props to Iffy and Bowen than I thought they would.
Not enough credit to Rock, but Ramsey is a 76, but has good acc/power.

Funny note: First carry with Canidate - fumble
hope that's not a foreshadowing of this year.

I don't know, they called me on Sunday and told me I could pick it up on Monday. So I did.

I think if you preorder it you can get it when it arrives, but if you don't preorder it you have to wait until all of the preorders have been passed out...plus some stores get games earlier, some later...

I prepaid for mine and wasnt charged extra. it came in today but i was off so i'll pick it up on the way home from work tomorrow.I got it from EB games.DT gardner in the strategy guide is rated 90and wilkinson(who we should'nt of cut this year)is a 82 i think.
Wouldn't it be nice to get a starter caliber DT (even if hes older)by preseasons end?Does anyone know about potential cap cuts looming?

I think id like him to be cut but i doubt since they booted stubblefield they'll cut their other starter(like we did).:smash:

Anyone else notice that the game said it would work for dial-up

GR_Eagle

What do you all think of the gameplay? I think its a lot better than in the previous games. That gamebreaker mode is cool.... no more cursing out the computer about something it missed:D

SkinsKY

I think the gameplay is great. I think it will be very hard to do well at higher difficulties without at least some football know how.

I did very well at 2003 on All-Madden. I turned on 2004 on pro diff. and got my butt handed to me. It means no more corner routes any time I feel like it, or 10 yard dropbacks without worrying about the blitz off the edge. I enjoyed those things, but it's nice to know there is a slightly higher learning curve to the game. I absolutely LOVE the play action. That might be my favorite addition to the game. Playmaker is great but I'm still learning how to use it effectively.

SkinsKY

yeah, the game does work for dial up Tex. Which means there could be a lot of lag from bad connections.

Playaction plays are great on this game...as for blitzes, I've been sacked more than a couple times already with Ramsey...

I've noticed the game is much more punishing, should you throw to a guy who's well covered. I musta been intercepted like 10 times yesterday lol. And Ramsey got pounded by the blitz til I found a few good screen/short passing plays plays. Anyone else think the Redskins playbook stinks? I noticed there's a "Run n Gun" playbook. I only tried it for one game, and it is different from Spurriers playbook. Kinda odd. But anyways, awesome game. Playmaker's awesome.

One cool thing I found out yesterday. If you're playing Defense, for one second after the ball is snapped you can push up or down on the right analog stick to react to either a passing play or a running play. Pushing down for a running play and up for a pass play. Sorta like a last second audible.test

Anyone else notice how much faster the game is compared to last years. I like it.

Picked up my copy yesterday, but I'm still trying to recuperate from last night's tailgate so I don't know when I'll pop it into the XBOX.

Got Madden yesterday, played five games last night after we got home from Fedex. Sadly, lost 3-2 in a squeaker that I'll forever be pissed about.... Had a total of four drops on fourth downs that would have kept my drives alive, while he had one drop period the entire game.

Anyway, the game's amazing, my favorite feature so far is the rotating camera behind the QB that will change angles of the field depending on where you run. It helps in so many ways. Oh, and the Redskins are frighteningly good. You can really tear it up with them.

How do you come home from that mess and do anything? After driving most of the way home through a downpour (after sitting in the parking lot for 40 minutes bumper to bumper trying to get out) I finally made it home after 2AM, dead tired...

JoeDaSchmoe

Well, a few things helped:

1. I parked at the Landover Metro station and took the bus over, avoiding bot hthe rush going in and the rush coming out of the stadium.

2. The drive home only took about half an hour and there was virtually no traffic.

3. Madden adrenaline.

Just finished my first game..

Skins 22
Jets 21

Wow, that's a little too close for comfort, hopefully the real thing will be by a slightly wider margin.

They make the jets like Gods in this game. I mean my defense was shutting them down all game. However the Final was 35-31. It had been 35-14 in the 3rd quarter. Then my guys couldn't catch the ball, and they burned my guys every pass play. It was ridiculous...Kinda like the game made it so that they would come back. Only reason I won, Bailey picked it off at the 3 yard line with 39 seconds to play. The gameplay is awesome, but The 'Skins are horrible when you play at PRO level. Ramsey couldn't complete a pass if his life depended on it, morton can't return the ball more then 15 yards. And our defense is horrible. The only way I've been able to do anything on defense is to use playmaker and just hope the computer does it's job. Something else I hate, When you use the speed boost, you can't turn. You make these stupid gradual turns. It's not realistic.

Yeah, it was 100 times easier to find than Redskin Park was...I'm glad Kenny told me where to go once I got onto Landover road though so I ended up in the green lot, where I needed to be, instead of a pay lot....I had no trouble finding it.

Jporter, sorry, but what are you talking about? The Redskins are scary good in this game. Scary good. I played as them and against them, and both times I was very, very impressed. Light years above the Madden 2003 'Skins. Maybe you're just not playing to their strengths.

I was playing on Pro...I moved it to Rookie and I killed the Jets. I had like 8 interceptions in the game. It was sick. 4 of the picks were returned for TDs. I ended up putting in Johnson in the 2nd. And Hamden mid 3rd.(Hamdan went 7 for 10 with 145 yards and 2 TDs. I had TDs with all 5 or so recievers.) I had Betts in there cause Trung was injured in the preseason, and he broke a 76 yard run. I was havin a crazy game....I couldn't believe the final score. (Oh yea Morton was hurt and Bailey took back 2 punts for scores) The Score? It was sick..... 98-10....I think I'm going back to Pro with a little bit more toughness.

I find pro to be just a bit too easy, so i stepped it up to all-pro and good lord, talk about a jump in difficulty. I'll keep it there tho, makes me play smarter.

I played in All-Madden against my friend. Both of us are hardcore Madden 2003 vets, so we do a lot of things the computer doesn't think to. And the Skins are definitely a good team.
