Just saw Sonny and George interview Morton on the news. Of course they bought up the skirmish in camp yesterday and he said that it help set the tempo for practice. He mentioned that there were no ill feelings between him and Armstead and that it was just practice. He mentioned he loved being here in DC where he gets reps at running back unlike when he was with the Jets. He feels the Sept 4 game will be fun and has no bad feelings toward the Jets at all. He thinks it'll be fun going against the coaches and his friends on the team. He said he loves coming to practice here because of the reps he gets at running back. All in all a pretty good interview. Nothing for the Jets bulletin boards.

Chad is a great guy and you guys will love him, he's very easy to root for and losing him bothered me more than losing anyone else this offseason though our KRs are doing great so far in preseason. I hope he does really well for you guys except on 9/4.

Morton is cool with me. If we can give him some holes to run thru he'll be just fine. I wouldn't mind seeing him get some reps at RB this week too.

I would be worried if I were the Jets about my kick returning. Moss has never been a kick returner, Jordan is a bruiser but not much of a breakaway guy, and Albert Johnson has had bad knee injuries the last two years. If Johnson is health, though, you should not suffer much of a dropoff from Morton (Johnson was about 27 yards per return last year).

Hell I dont have time to worry about the Jets...After the game against the Panthers I want to see our guys step up and play some decent football. They do not have to win just improve and don't look like a total train wreck.

Agreed. Lets walk before we run. The NE game should be interesting. I think they'll be a rock solid team in 2003 if Antoine Smith can run a little. Seymour, Colvin, Law, Harrison, man that sounds like a pretty formidable D to me.

Moss will not return Kicks, he will only return punts. Jordan is there more as a blocker. Mike Westhoff has always had great returners mostly b/c of his schemes(last year was a combo of a very talented KR and great schemes). 2 years ago w/ Craig Yeast as our KR we had one of the top return games in the league. It sucked to lose Morton but our return game will be fine plus Albert Johnson and Ian Smart have looked great returning kicks. You are right about AJs health, if healthy he's very good so hopefully he'll still healthy.

It looks like the Pats have given Antoine Smith's starting job to Kevin Faulk. SHould be intersting to see if he improves their running game.

He looked good against the Giants.

Faulk has never demonstrated he's got the toughness to endure a 16-game season as the starting tailback. We'll see.
Looks like Morton is a lock for the passing down tailback barring an injury or a minor miracle.
