There are just enough little dinks in that article to diminish its value. Molinaro a guard? Nemo undersized?

Molinaro is def a tackle now but at one point was suppused to be able to play both, roight up until the end of last year.

Glad to know Molinaro was at one time considered versatile enough to play tackle and guard.

I had engaged in a debate with some on this forum regarding his chances of making the team this season. One of the reasons I gave for Molinaro likely to be cut is that the coaches chose the 42-year old Ray Brown and the washed-up Cory Raymer over him last last season. But, the argument used against me was that Molinaro is a tackle, not a guard. This appears to vindicate my position that it's not his versatility that's the problem. The problem is he is not very good.

i never heard or read anything about molinaro being able to play guard. im not saying he wasnt billed as being able to play both positions, just that i never heard anything of it. altho im almost sure molinaro would of done a better job at least in his blocking playing guard than raymer did last year. ray brown was so disgusted with raymers play that he toughened up and went back in with his cramps

Interesting, if Montgomery can make it to backup role of the DT's (gonna be tough), he may very well face an old teammate from Minnesota's recent grads/declares, trying to take Edgerrin Jame's place with the Colts. A nice mystery to follow indeed.

right now molinaro is versatile enough to play NEITHER tackle or guard..
in fact last year when he was active, which was rare, the used him on the DEFENSIVE line in goal line packages.
if he gets cut again, maybe he tries to make the transition over to d line ??

I am just about done waiting for Molinaro to play any position at this level. Not that any 6th rounder garners high expectations to begin with, but I must admit that I am disappointed. When he was drafted, there was talk about how the scouts liked his quickness. Well, he hasn't shown me anything. My hunch is that Jonta Woodward is the backup tackle to start the season, and Molinaro will have had his cup of coffee in the NFL by that time.

It's hard to believe that a division II player drafted in the 6th round is almost a lock to make the team, but that's what Reed Doughty appears to be.

Not only are there only three veteran safeties ahead of him, there doesn't appear to be any other safeties capable of making a serious run for a roster spot (Keino's favorite Dennard Wilson may have an outside shot to supplant Doughty if he is a safety).

i like the potential in reed doughty, seems like a gibbs-type guy straight out of the box...
