Cooley is a talent no doubt, but I don't know that I expect him to catch more balls than in '05. I voted for less production, but I hope to see him catch around 70 balls with 10 TDs and lots of first dows. I think the biggest benefit he has to our offense is to help move the chains and allow us to take deep shots. I voted for a slight decrease in his production, but it isn't a lack of faith in his ability. With another good year, I think he could prove to be the best TE in the East.

I think Cooley will have about the same production. I do think that ARE and LLoyd will take away some bals from Cooley but also it won't be as easy for a team to cover Cooley with a safety and a LB. Thus Cooley will be open more. I also think our offense will be revving higher and higher and thus more balls for everyone.

That said Cooley has the same production.

Cooley was our 2nd receiving option in 2006...so he will see a decrease in production after he becomes our 4th receiving option.

I believe he will continue to rack up goal-line TDs, as Gibbs likes to mismatch his TEs and FBs on the goaline...but I just dont' see many open field targets going his way. In 2006, Cooley had 7 or more passing targets in 8 different games. I think Randal El or Lloyd will take away at least 1/3 of his targets, if not more.

I understand that the ball will be spread around, but I think Cooleys production will increase as we will pass more often and more efficiently.

I expect to see a general decrease in production. Gonzo put up big numbers in KC, but Cooley is a different talent. That being said, I expect and INCREASE in TDs.

I expect him to catch less balls, but for the balls he catches to count more.

I voted for more production... I think he'll get less thrown his way, so he'll have less catches but I think there a couple of factors that will lead to bigger plays. I've seen many people say that (if everything clicks with our new offense), people will have to pick their poison, Clinton Portis or Moss/Lloyd/ARE, but where is Cooley??? We showed Dallas if yuo don't account for him, he'll destroy you and I haven't seen a lot of people mention him yet. So the linebackers will be up closer to play the run and concentrate on Portis, and the secondary will have enough problems on their hands with Moss, Lloyd and ARE without worrying about Cooley sneaking into the flat. So he'll have better opportunitites, as opposed to more...

I think we've seen what Cooley can do and he will continue to catch a similar amount of passes because it suits this team well. Cooley has some intangibles IMO. I know there is only one ball to go around but one desired impact of the recent aquisitions would be to increase Brunell's completion percentage. Not that it was bad last year at 57.7%, I think he is the type of veteran QB that could post a 62% with good O-line play and guys getting open.

I think production will be about the same. I think he may have fewer receptions and more TDs. It will be interesting to see how he is used in this revamped offense.

I think his production will decrease overall (cathes and yards) but he will probably see an increase in his YPC as he will be in the seam much more, ala Tony Gonzalez.

I guess it depends on your definition of "production."

I expect his TDs to increase, total catches and yards to stay about the same or decrease slightly. Also, I think he will be our biggest goal line receiving threat.

I consider the fact that he will do more (more TDs and 1st downs) with less (passes thrown to him) as an increase in production

Agreed, AliBaba. I think his # of catches will go down slightly as he becomes the 3rd or 4th receiving option on a lot of plays but I expect his # of big plays to go up as defenses worry about him less.

{edit} Cooley is still a hoss to bring down. If he gets less attention and can turn and run with nothing but little DBs between him and the endzone, that can only be good for Chris.

I think CNY's expertise in TE's should render all other opinions worthless. Once Dustin votes, we should close it.....:)

Cooley will catch less passes due to our two new WRs, but his yardage and TDs will increase. Suanders will be spread out the defenses more and Cooley will then use his impressive YACs to even greater advantage.

Last season, teams watched Captain Chaos closely since he was the only threat besides Santana. This year he will be more dangerous due to a more multi-dimensional offense.

I expect more but I always do lol. With the coverage spread between the new guys and Moss, Cooley should find the endzone even more than last year. 10-15 TD's baby!!

I think the overall #s will be close to the same, but the tds will be more spread out. I expect Cooley and Sellers to split a lot of TDs from inside the 10.

why I picked about the same. The dude's a beast and he will make BIGGER plays now.

I hate to say it, but I don't think that he will come close to the numbers he had last year. I could be wrong, but we have so many more options. Plus, we have Fauria for him to compete with. I think he will have about 30 catches this year, 2 a game.

I believe it will increase because I have two words for you Al Saunders:)

Depends what you mean by "production". I expect the number of catches to be about the same or go down slightly. But I think he will make more big plays, make more first downs and score more touchdowns because he will be open more often thanks to Lloyd and El
