Apparently, things in the Dallas camp are less than encouraging.

How great would it be if we got to see Philly and Dallas go down in flames in back to back seasons? Dallas' season clearly rests on the performance of the offensive line and evidently it is leaving plenty to be desired.
This tidbit from kffl offers more about Flozell:
Cowboys | Adams struggling in practice
Sat, 5 Aug 2006 08:09:40 -0700
Rob Phillips, of DallasCowboys.com, reports Dallas Cowboys OT Flozell Adams has been struggling in practice lately, according to head coach Bill Parcells. Adams worked with the No. 2 offense at left tackle Friday, Aug. 4.
If Flozell can't get back his performance back to where it was before his injury, they are doomed. That oline is a mess right now. When they hit the brutal midseason stretch of their schedule, we should begin to hear TO get into the act by shooting off his mouth. When that happens, things could get really fun for all of us.

It's good to hear Dallas still having trouble with its Oline. But, Washington would do well not to rely on this or underestimate the Cowboys. Parcells may just be playing possum or just trying to fire up his team.
When the Skins play Dallas on Sept 17, they should presume that the Dallas Oline will be good to go.

Normally I'd agree with you seeing as most offenses are way behind the defenses at this point, but any news of Flozell not being 100% is bad news for the Girls. Their line was patchwork to begin with and now their best player can't stay on the field with the first team, yikes...

Oh, I agree completely with that. No reason to underestimate them just because Parcells had a few negative words regarding the first couple of days of training camp. However, as a fan, I have a general predicition of their season in my head, and this bit of news only reinforces my opinions. It's always good to hear negative things coming from the enemies' camp, as long as the Skins don't begin to feel overconfident as a result. Either way, I expect Dallas to be a battle in week 2, nothing near the beat down we layed on them at home last year. I dont' expect their problems to begin to reveal themselves until the middle of the season, starting with a loss at Fedex Field.

You don't have to look back too far to see how important Flozell is to that team....they were 4-2 when he went down last year and Bledsoe was playing very well; once they lost Flozell, Bledsoe completely unravelled, along with thier playoff chances.

Bledsoe unravels down the stretch of every season. The Flozell argument is a specious one, history suggests Bledsoe would have cracked regardless of who was playing tackle.

I'm waiting for him to say "All I can do is tip my cap, and call Gibbs my daddy".

Over-confidence is a great equalizer. The Skins should be good this season but not good enough to overcome over-confidence. I would be more worried if Gibbs were not in charge. One thing Joe always does is preach the importance of taking every team seriously.
How many more gray hairs do you think Mark Brunell put on Joe's head when he started talking about the SB the other day?

I couldn't agree more. Gibbs is a classic worry-wart and heightened expectations only add to his burden. That said, I have no doubt he will be able to keep this team focused throughout the season. When you have complete trust in your coaches, great things occur.
As for Brunell, even though he didn't make any proclamations, you could tell Gibbs hates even hearing that word (Super Bowl) in August. If the team wants to declare their goals for the season, it's fine with me, but I'm sure Joe would rather them keep it to themselves if he had a choice. I'm sure that point was made crystal clear at some point in the last couple of days.

Thats the only thing I take out of this piece. If Adams is struggling with health, then the rest of that line might as well be made of gauze paper.

...and folks, if you're keeping score, gauze paper is a downgrade from cardboard.

OXNARD, Calif. - After spending the last three practices on the sidelines riding a stationary bike and working with the conditioning staff, wide receiver Terrell Owens wasn't on the field for Saturday morning's walk-through practice.
Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells said Owens spent the morning getting an MRI on his sore left hamstring and will not participate in the afternoon scrimmage scheduled for 2 p.m. (PDT) here in Oxnard.
"It's only disappointing from the fact that we're hoping that he's a big part of our offense this year," Parcells said Saturday afternoon. "And he hasn't been able to be out there much. Hopefully we'll get him back soon and we'll be able to go forward."
Owens missed practice Thursday evening, along with both Friday sessions.
While the veteran wide receiver has downplayed the injury, he said it's the first hamstring injury of his career.

Yeah, no reason to underestimate them (or anyone) right now. We've known their O-line was going to have trouble, but let's not write them off.. you know Gibbs and the hopefully the rest of the team won't.

i think you are correct.. but if that was the case, the failure to address the o line with a couple of mature linemen from free agency (not really counting fabini or cosier) was a killer. with bledsoe having such limited mobility that was plain stupid

I was looking through the thread for exactly this comment. We need to prepare like Flozell is at the peak of his career and not look past them at all. Parcells is the exact opposite of Gibbs in that he motivates by "calling out" and belitting players.

true.. but in adams case it is whether he can come back from injury and not so much his effort that is to be questioned. he has been good for them for a long time before this..

I am not sure there were quality Olinemen out there in free agency. Cosier and Fabini may have been the best available. Bentley was probably too expensive, and he is not a tackle.
What surprised me was Parcells standing pat with Bledsoe (an over-rated statue who would have never won any SB for NE), when Culpepper and Brees were available. If it was a case of Bledsoe costing too much capwise to get rid off, then it was Parcells' fault for bringing in the slug in the first place. It's unclear that Bledsoe is much of an improvement over Testeverde.

the cowboy web sites are really high on romo.. perhaps that is why parcells did not opt to go after culpepper or brees.. not sure if their cap situation would have permitted them to do that and still lock in williams and witten long term..
i still think the o line is the worst part of the cowboys.. next the free safety situation.. then the lack of a true stud runner

A great prediction for them. That porous OLine will be facing some pretty aggressive defenses in the first two weeks that 0-2 is EXACTLY what I am predicting for them right now. Bledsoe is going to get sacked and ransacked those first two weeks.
I normally am not the predicting type, but I just don't see any great standout lineman on that team.

You've got to think there's some coaching pyschology at play here (kinda like Gibbs saying this is the toughest schedule he's ever seen..blah blah blah), but it doesn't sound good. I'm intrigued about TO's injury. Wouldn't that be perfect if he was hampered by a hamstring all year?

The Savior's name is T. O. according to those in Dallas.
He can:
1. block
2. run
3. catch
4. throw the ball
5. return kicks and puntoffs
He doesn't need anyone's help, being that he is the entire team.
