Pro Football Weekly has analyzed all 32 teams in the league and come up with the players each team needs to lead their offense and their defense. They've picked OLT Chris Samuels and OLB Lavar Arrington to be our MVPs. Agree? Disagree? Have a look here (http://espn.go.com/nfl/s/nfcmvps.html) at the Redskins and their conference rivals, and then post your comments in this space. And while you're at it, you might as well take a peek at the AFC (http://espn.go.com/nfl/s/afcmvps.html), too.

I see their reasoning with the Redskins. Ramsey won't be our MVP because he simply won't be good enough this year. Samuels is a fine choice for who we need and can reasonably expect to be our offensive MVP. I might have gone with Laveranues Coles instead, but both are fine choices.
On defense, it is all about Lavar and Champ. Only those two players have the ability to be true dominators at their positions. [Especially with Trotter still punching below weight.] Arrington seems like a fine choice to me.

Yeah, Samuels has represented us in the Pro Bowl so he's a good choice. I'm with you though, I think Coles can be our MVP as well. As far as defense goes, LaVar is an excellent choice. Afterall I feel this is his team.

I like Champ and Coles :)

I also agree. You could have chosen Coles or Jansen over Samuels but he is a good pick. Defensively, it's between Champ and LaVar, you can't go wrong with either of those guys.

I say Ramsey on offense. That side of the ball needs someone to believe in. Ramsey must ignite the passion in his line and receiving corp.
Again, do to the inspiration factor, Lavar seems like the right choice to lead the defense. Clearly, Champ is our best player, but we'll need a mangler like Lavar to motivate the rest of the front seven. In particular, the line is going to have to run on adrenaline to even compete.

I think for the Skins to go somewhere, the offensive MVP has to be Coles. He has to show he is worth the money, he has to be that deep field threat, he has to put up big numbers. Defensively, i agree, lavar has to tear it up.

If Ramsey is the offensive MVP for the Redskins 2003 will be a very good year for our favorite team. I think it's Coles, though.

I have a feeling Jansen is moving up into that role over Samuels... he seems to have presence and consitency...

What about Rod Gardner for O- MVP. He'll be getting a lot of balls thrown his way and put up big numbers.

Offense? John Hall. The difference a good, steady kicker will make for our games will be incredible.
Defense has to be LaVar. He's the heart and soul.

I still think the key to the whole Air Spurrier system goes right through Laveranues. He sucks it up, we suck it up, he lights up, awe may very well do the same. His speed and domination coudl lift us to many more scores folks.

That's what I think, Mark. The success of this offense depends on a big-time playmaker and Coles is the most likely suspect. Ideally, Coles will blow up and a tailback--Canidate, perhaps--will average 5 yards per carry. If that happens, the Skins will be tough to keep off the scoreboard.

I agree with Coles, he is earning MVP money and he needs to step it up so Ramsey can depend on him.

Arrington I have no problem with.
Samuels kind of leads me to mixed feelings. I would hope that with $13million in his pocket that Coles overwhelms everyone and earns that distinction. My thoughts are that if he does, that means somebody is getting him the ball with consistency, and that bodes well for RAM.
I can't recall an O lineman ever receiving recognition in a pass oriented offense. Maybe with teams that grind it out, but if Samuels gets this call, I don't see us making the playoffs.
