You're joking right?

I read this earlier. Looks like a solid predicition to me. I am pretty sure that the Skins only carried 4 RB/FBs on game days last year and 5 max on the 53 man roster. Could be a sign of the evolving offense if 6 RB/FB make the final 53.

It appears they believe in Lonie too.

How exactly does Manny White make the team? Did he even see the field on Saturday?

he also has Jonta Woodard on the team when he was not on the field either. It is an interesting prediction and not far off mine from yesterday. It could be right but I don't think we keep 6 rbs/fbs...not on the roster. 1 will go to PS.

I guess since Manny is not eligible for the practice squad, it makes since to carry Manny on the 53 and Nemo on the practice squad.

How can you carry Manny on the roster and Nemo on the PS when both have an accrued season?

I think Nemo was only active in 4 games last year, so is still eligible. Manny was IR'ed so he definitely is ineligible for the PS.

I also think there are a few things wrong with this list, for one, Rock is not a FB.

huh, you're right. They changed his designation back to RB on the roster. He was listed as a FB earlier in the offseason.

I don't think they make a distinction between gameday actives and inactives with regards to the practice squad, but I may be wrong. Otherwise, Jason Campbell would be PS eligible and I don't think he is.

EDIT: I stand corrected. They need 6 games on the gameday active rosters

I think JC is eligible for the PS, as the 3rd "emergency QB" doesn't count an active roster spot. Of course, in order to put JC on the PS, the Skins would have to cut him and even if he cleared waivers, somebody would definitely pluck him off the PS.

Not if you asked most of the pundits in this league, who think drafting him was a waste of draft choices.

I thought if you had an accrued NFl season even if you were not active on gameday you were not eligible for the PS. That is why IR players are not eligible for PS either.

No 6 games active for an accrued season. The IR situation was brought about to prevent coaches from stashing players there, cough *Gibbs in the '80s* cough.

6 games on active roster = 1 accrued season.
IR = 1 accrued season. (not sure how many games on IR are needed for accrued season, probably 6).

1 accrued season = no practice squad.

Interesting predictions:

1. 8 on the DLine. I won't go here again. I agree that 8 is the Dline number this year.
2. Cedric Killings getting the boot, especially over a rookie?
3. Is McCune PS eligible? He was active on special teams last year.....

4. Who is this Eubanks corner?

McCune played in 7 games (5 reg, 2 postseason) last season, so he is not eligible.

Yeah, I thought he was close. Was not sure of the exact number of games, but I was guessing in the 6-9 range. I was not aware the postseason games count towards eligibility, just learned something new today.

i dont know how they will separate the fullbacks from the tailbacks, because Lumsden, Carter, Rock, White and Nemo are all wildcards IMO.

I 2nd that notion. CNY does do a great job......come on man, anytime you have a Beatles reference, it can't be all bad.

I thought the staff was high on Christian Morton? Killings had a good game against the Jets, as he was usually on or around the ball.

They also have a few players on the practice squad that are not eligible. Christian Morton is in his third year so he's off (Atlanta '04, Skins '05), McCune has been active in 5 games so he's out, and Nemo has been active for 4 so he's out as well.

Not so sure McCune and Nemo are ineligible. Sounds like the new rule you posted on the other thread applies to holding them on for a third year. The old rule was 6 or more games made them ineligible for a second year on the PS. I think both Nemo and McCune are eligible this year.

Maybe I mis-interpreted the rules. When it said 3 games in the first two seasons I thought that it was a total of 3 games over two years and not 3 each year.

McCune played in 7 games last year, if playoffs count.

I dont know, like you said, it's a matter of interpretation. Like you, I read it as 3 games over 2 seasons and you could stay on the PS in the third year.

However, this is only the second year for Nemo and McCune and I think the old rule still applies: no more than 6 games in the first year makes you eligible for the second year.

From what I can tell, the rules for practice squad eligiblity only apply to regular season games.

Also, from this source, if you have less than 9 regular season games on the active list you are eligible in year two.

If someone else has another link, please post it, because there has been conflicting data on this issue.

That's what I've been able to come up with as well. It looks like the rules for the 3rd year are for the hard core practice players who don't play at all.
