I saw that on Sportsnite. Patten seems really eager to get back on the field full speed. Good to hear he is doing all right.

Great news to hear David is healthy. I'm hoping to see much more of him, we were robbed of him last year.

I know he didn't put up big numbers for us last year, but rewatching some old highlights I noticed that when he played last year he was able to do some things that none of the WRs who replaced him could even come close to doing.

The fact that this guy is going to be working from the slot again for us could be huge. I think he's going to surprise a lot of people outside this organization. And he'll be amazing for depth. I'm really glad to have him back.

I think David will be splitting time with ARE from the slot, can you just imagine be on the opposing D and having to defend against Moss, Lloyd, Patten, and with Cooley playing his H-back role from last year and Portis at the same time?

David is going to surprise some people this year. Double up on Moss and Lloyd and DP is gonna surprise ya.

We are going to make our opponents defensive coordinator's job tougher!:)

I think that all ARE, BL, and DP will all alternate in and out w/ BL seeing the vast majority of the time at #2. They will all stay fresh and it will be a nightmare for d-backs in the late 2nd quarter and the second half of games.

That is what I am hoping! Yeah maybe we don't have any one person with a ton of catches, but keeping everyone involved with the offense is a key. Thrash didn't make a ton of catches last season, but he contributed some really nice key plays.

DP is a great team player. I see a few big plays for him this year. Keep getting better DP.

viral meningitis!!! wow, and it only took three days in the hospital to recover???? thats good for Patten, glad he's alright. i know his pressence on the field will be benefitial to our team, but i'm just glad it was as serious as that staph infection Brandon Noble had that ended his career.

Some might confuse viral meningitis with the more serious baccterial version... I think I read the viral last about a week.

But re: Noble's staph infection!!!??? That is seriously nasty from what I read in the Post article on him.

This is good news to hear. The bad news is our depth on the oline may have taken a hit. Molinaro was carted off the field yesterday with a knee injury. Hope it isn't too serious.

I'm really glad that he is back in the swing of things! I really think that Patten is going to be our sleeper this year. People are just going to assume that he is going to play like last year, and when they look up he will be doing a dance in the endzone for a TD!

I was wondering if he (Molinaro) was going to make the cut anyway.? I hope he is alright though, because I never wish injuries on players.

Great to hear. Patten is hungry and eager to get on the field and do something big this year. I really hope last year was an abberation. I just tell myself his final season in NE he had over 800 yards and averaged over 18 yards/reception. He could really be the cherry on top of this offense.

I also heard it is very rare now. I believe that's what my doctor told me when I asked him about it, but I also read that here, from someone that had posted some data on it. Noble felt the true brunt of this thing.

Most of Patten's success in NE came in the slot position, so I think he'll just naturally be a better receiver lined up there. When we go 4 wide with Patten and ARE as the inside receivers... Holy Moley!! Who do you pick to cover?!?

From what I have read of Moss's comments on the offense, Moss has been asking for and is getting more plays out of the slot. Moss apparently really likes having the middle of the field in front of him and thinks he is most productive there. (Sorry, no link.)

If that is true, I suspect our offensive sets are going to be really flexible. I wouldn't be surprised to see all of our WRs (except maybe Lloyd) lined up in the slot a fair amount. I can see where making Moss's position in the formation a bit of a mystery could pay dividends in terms of dictating match-ups. Fun to think about, anyway.

Another nail in Taylor Jacobs coffin. Oh,... yeah - he put those in himself.

Amazing that Patten came back so soon. Shows his conditioning and desire.
