I knew that Vinny T. was a good QB but I never knew he threw for so many yards. This article states that he is less than 500 yards away from the "Rarely Achieved" mark. There are some concerns though.........

That to me is amazing. He was a DB's best friend when he was in Tampa Bay. He never really started playing well until he moved to Cleveland. You just wouldn't think he is that close to 40,000 yards with as many INT's he threw early in his career.

Vinny had 2 different careers, his first when he was in Tampa he was awful but he didn't have much help then his 2nd was A.T.(After Tampa). He guided Cleveland to the playoffs in '94 then after they moved he had some excellent seasons in Baltimore. Vinny's 1998 season was an all-time season for QBs, he was outstanding but his career took another turn after he injured his achilles in the '99 opener. He was ok but never the same after he came back, I hope he can get to 40,000 but not at the expense of Chad getting hurt.

Agreed. It would be a nice feather in his cap. He is a survivor of this league and it would put him in elite company.

Hopefully there'll be a few games where in the Jets are either up or down by about 25 points late in the fourth and he gets enough reps to break the mark.

Hopefully there will be games when we are up that much and not down that much:D

Does Vinny T. belong in the HOF? I wonder if he'll have as hard of a time to get in there as Mr. Monk has had?

No, Vinny has no shot at the Hall. He's had a pretty good career and maybe if he wasn't stuck in TB during his early years he'd have a shot but I don't think he has a shot.

I agree nyjunc. Its a shame that a QB with those kind of #s wont make it to the hall....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't vinny color blind? (which makes his numbers moreimpressive, and a little more understandable with the high int numbers.)

That was the rumor when he was in TB but he was pretty good on a college team w/ orange uni's as well. I'm not sure it's tru as it was never brought up while he was here.
