It's almost been two weeks since wuerful has signed and everybody in the media had him replacing Rob Johnson. Anybody heard how things are going with that? The post has said that wuerful has had a terrible training camp. Is he that rusty? or is he really that bad? The post really doesn't mention Johnson's progress, or how he's doing. I did read a link that stated he is picking up the system better. Anybody hear?

I heard that once Woeful got signed, Rob Johnson got some fire in his pants and actually started throwing much better. I think his camp turned out pretty good from what was being said. Im certain Woeful is only being kept to motivate Ramsey.

I'll say it again, I really do not think RJ did that bad of a job in the Carolina game. Some poster here said he was awful. Considering the time the backup OLine gave him to throw, a mere two to three seconds, and him finishing 10-16, i think he did pretty well. I hated the signing, but Carolina game proved to methat RJ can be a fighter. I think Wuerffel shoudls tick to mentoring Ram only.

It is my guess that Spurrier agrees... have you seen how he has been shying away from Danny the last week or so?

There is no doubt that Johnson will be the #2 guy once week 1 rolls around. The only question is if SS thinks he can sneak Hamdan onto the PS without someone else picking him up after the final cut. In a perfect world, I think SS would like to keep Wuerffel around to mentor RAM and RJ on the East Coast Offense and be a secondary QB coach. But I do not think he will keep Wuerffel if they feel they could lose Hamdan by trying to get him on the PS, otherwise there was no logic in drafting him.

Johnson. to me, was spectacular in the Carolina game, simply because he was so much better than what I'd seen in the past from him, and what I'd been anticipating due ot the camp reports. Hell, by any standard he was pretty damn good. That "official line" of two fumbles and a pick is ridiculous, kind of like blaming Ramsey for the four interceptions in last year's Saints game.
I'd like to have DW as a third QB and put Hamdan on the practice squad, but the fact that one our draft picks could immediately be signed by someone else worries me.

I wouldnt be against offering Danny a coaching job and keeping Hamden as the #3... Danny doesnt have much hope of being picked up by anyone else.
Think he would take it?

RJ has been grasping the offense a lot better. He'll end up being #2. Did any of you read the report from thursday on the official site? here it is.
Play: It was only a 10-yard gain, but it showed the veteran experience that backup quarterback Rob Johnson offers the Redskins. During a scrimmage, Johnson read a blitz coming from safety Matt Bowen. He quickly checked off and lofted a pass over Bowen to Cartwright coming out of the backfield.
This shows me rob is learning how to read the blitz. Normally he would have taken that sack, as in a few years ago against new england, terrel buckley came off a corner blitz that put rj out of commision for the rest of the season(broken collarbone). This is a good offense for rob.

I see no reason to keep Danny Awful. If we are forced to use him the season is toast anyway. Might as well let a rookie play if that's the case. Rob Johnson isn't anything special but he is leaps and bounds better than Woeful.

This is an interesting point. Assuming Wuerffel makes the team, he is obviously going to be #3 and if he gets into a game, we have other, more pressing matters, like WTF is wrong with the O line. I agree, if he sees game action, us fans will be scrapping the black stuff off of our burned toast.
