WOw, this guy either really has addiction or is just a complete screw up (assuming the charges are true)...

Vikings starting receiver Koren Robinson was arrested late Tuesday night on his way back to training camp in Mankato, Minn., on suspicion of drunken driving, according to a St. Peter, Minn., police official.

Sgt. Loren Jansen of the St. Peter Police Department said Robinson was arrested at 10:46 p.m., for "driving while impaired" and is being held at Nicollet County Jail in St. Peter.

Didnt he just get out of rehab not to long ago? I thought he checked himself in to stop his urges to drink.

He'll be suspended for the year and I don't see the Vikings keeping him around. This should make the loss of Springs for week 1 a little easier as he was their #1 WR.

Malcom Glazer (SI) was just on 980 saying how he just talked to Robinson last week and thought he was doing well in terms of fighting his addiction. He reported that Robinson was going over 100 mph and will be charged with a felony... Lastly, supposedly he also violated probation in Seattle.

The guy probably never steps on a football field again.

We should have signed this guy when we had the chance!

It wasnt just Glazer. Suzy Kolber and Joey T made a pretty big deal about Robinson's "recovery" on Monday Night Football. Joey was pratically gushing over the guy, saying he had such admiration that he was "proactive" in his treatment, etc.

Geez.

Interesting Supes. I watched the first quarter i a pub and they didn't have the volume on...

I also didn't realize it was Robinson who fumbled the opening kickoff leading to an early Raiders FG. With recent reports of Clarett drinking before Broncos practices, I wonder if Robinson ever drank before a game???

He may have and an issue with drugs but alcohol has been his downfall. He checked himself into rehab last month voluntary to try and stop himself from having urges.

Wow, it just goes to show you how powerful an addiciton can be. Here you are, star receiver of your team, making lots of money and you simply can't stay away from something you know is bad for you. The man can do a lot of things in life and he chooses to do things that will get him nowhere and ruin his career. He obviously needs more help than what he has received so far.

Drinking when on league substance abuse program = asinine
Drinking & driving = criminal
Drinking & driving AND driving 100 MPH while on league SAP = Cause for state sanctioned sterilization.

Yeah, but how many times do you have to reach out to someome if you're the NFL? It's not like this kid has been drinking heavily every day for 40, 20 or even 10 years and has to quit. He's got a problem with partying too much. That's a choice.

What he needs is a woman who... hey, LadyN, I've got an idea. ;)

Yeah, I agree with Lady. If they kick him out of football, his problem will only get worse. Someone within the NFL has to help this guy.

Who effing cares? Seriously. The kid has all the $$$ and physical tools of a 1st round draft pick. Instead, the guy chooses to chase skirts, get liquored up and drive his car drunk at 100 mph at 1AM. Maybe if people stopped coddling him he might get the message that HE IS BLOWING IT.

I have no sympathy for him. We all had to grow up. He does too.

I'm with you amigo. "Strike 1" for most things (Rae Carruth aside) is understandable and forgiveable... "Strike 10"? Nope. Nobody at my work would give me that many chances. Nobody is giving you that 15th chance...

I got no love for Robinson. Answer me this, what if he collided into you mother/sister/father/brother/spouse going 105 mph? The man might need support, but it shouldn't mean keeping his job or freedom at this point. Let him get help behind bars.

It seems he tried to do the right thing back in July, when he voluntarily went back to rehab. Unfortunately, he wasn't ready to come out but they can't forcibly keep him there when he wasn't ordered there in the first place. If he doesn't go to jail, he should get one of those bracelets that don't let him leave the house and have to do breathalyzer's on command throught the day.

Lost my ring two years ago but no matter, 11 years of marriage and 3 kids have crushed my spirit into chalk. I can still enjoy watching guys like you stumble down the same path though ;). Don't worry, when you get here, I'll have a cold beer waiting for you.
