32. New England Patriots- Tom Zbitkowski, DB Notre Dame

Now before everyone jumps on me let me splain myself. Not alot of people heard of Weddle yet but in the end we might be lucky to get him that late. Simply put they haven't came up with one defensive assignment the guy can't handle. You want a good tackler in the backfield? Weddle had about 215 of those of those in his career, including 9 sacks and 20 for a loss, playing strong safety, free safety and cornerback. As for covarege, well ask Calvin Johnson who only caught 2 balls for 19 yards when playing against Weddle in a bowl game.

i think that had more to do with Reggie ball playing like *censored by SPENCE* than Weddle shutting him dow. He does sound very interesting....but id rather us get a speedy corner becuase with the rule changes big physical corners are getting turned to saftey left and right. I also wouldnt put a whole lot of weight into his stats. Look at the conference he plays in. If we drafted him though i would not be upset i would just be worried he cant do it as a corner and is regulated to saftey were our starters are pretty much set in stone

GW like his corners big and physical just look at everyone of our DB's...So when we draft a new corner he's gonna be in the Carlos Rogers/Shawn Springs mold not the tye hill type...But I don't think it'd be Weddle I think his stats are inflatted by his confrence as well plus I've heard the CB class looks weaker this year than it has the past two years any draft experts know about that? I think if it is weak we should get a stop gap guy and not reach now IMO and draft one of these young DL/OL comming out the draft seems to be heavy their.

I hate to keep pimping South Carolina players, but watch for Fred Bennett this year. 6-1 200 lbs CB with 4.47-4.52 speed. Everyone is expecting him to have a monster season for the Cocks. I think he's a better prospect at the same point in their college careers than Dunta Robinson or Johnathan Joseph(the Cocks are just loaded at CB this year and keep producing good NFL prospects at that position for some unknown reason).

I've seen Bennets name mentioned a couple times when ppl talk about up and comming corners...What do yall think about us going DE since it looks to be a deep class this year and we havent gone DL early in a while?

Actually, right now I see us going OG, because I think Dockery is going to leave via ufa. Blalock and Arnold would be our targets then. If he stays, I think the Skins will target a CB like Bennett, Cason or Hughes.

A lot of ppl are high on Cason right now saying its between him and Hughes for the number 1 CB this year. I don't know about Dockery leaving but it is interesting that were talking to Betts about an extension before him...I think he stays in the end and if he leaves I think we'd be better in the long run since Dock can't pull the way Thomas can I think we'd draft another one in his mold. If we go OG I hope we trade down though to get some more picks cause gaurds usually fall. Its interesting that since gibbs return most of our picks have gone towards defensive players all though Gibbs is an offensive guy.

Who knows. A lot can happen between now and then. I do think that CB is a priority, but if Dockery leaves, LG is the priority.

I agree that CB is a priority but if that talent isn't there I don't want to reach...The last three years..(that about how long I've actually been really paying attention to the draft) the draft has been loaded at DB it has'd to get dry one year. I'd rather draft a need where the talent is at and us use a stop gap player till the talent is there. Any team in need of a WR that reached this year is gonna be in pain when next years class comes out and they've already inked a young WR to millions in salary cap space for example the Steelers IMO should've waited cause next years WR class is gonna be deep and full of talent!!!!!

calvin johnson doesn't go to usc but otherwise its a good draft if some of your juniors do come out
