I thought it would be interesting to check out some of the other players the Redskins might have been targeting during Draft Day to see how they are doing. Rookies who went just after our picks and are in positions where we could have used some help. Based on a number of source opinions (ESPN, TSN, PFW, SI, CBSsportsline...) we didn't do too bad picking Taylor Jacobs and Derrick Dockery.
2nd Rd. pick Safety-Mike Doss is having a hard time with the speed of the game and is deep in the Colts depth chart.
2nd Rd. pick DE-Chris Kelsey is running with the Bills 3rd string and has not impressed yet.
3rd Rd. pick WR-Kelly Washington is listed as the Bengals 6-7th WR on thier depth chart and presently has another injury issue.
4th Rd. pick DT Rien Long is 2nd team on the Titans mainly due to injuries, but has looked decent.
4th Rd. pick DT Dan Klecko is a little dynamo playing the nose, linebacker and special teams well. He is smallish though.
It's still very early, but based on camp info, the F.O. didn't do too badly.

good research cam...nice to see out rookies in camp and impressing. Hopefully they'll be even more impressive tomorrow.

Kind of makes you wonder how seriously Cerrato was targeting Doss all along prior to the draft. Maybe he wasn't a lock to go 2nd if Jacobs hadn't been there all along.

I never wanted Doss. Nor Kelsey who was another player the rumors had the team interested in. Just thought both players were excellent college players who really weren't made for the pro game.

Anyway, I think the jury is still very much out on our two picks. dockery looked terrible against the Panthers and we haven't seen enough of Jacobs in game situations to make a good assement.

Maybe we should have gone after a restricted Free Agent DT starter or traded for one and given up our 3rd round pick then.

The Jets combined the 13th and thier First rounder to move up to the 4th pick to get DT Dwayne Robertson of Kentucky. The Patriots picked DT Ty Warren out of Texas A&M.
