It's nothing like getting prepared for a home football game. Cleaning out the coolers, preparing the food and getting the grill ready for this evening's Skins game.

I have my brand new personal Skins cooler ready to go. It's cool. I got it at FAD. It has two slide-out compartments on the botton. One side is a cup holder and the other is a drawer for keys and things like that. I have my little Redskins tailgate table which converts to a serving tray. While in Vegas, I picked up a 48oz plastic football which will contain my spirits for the evening. Nothing really special for the menu today. Just some bacon cheeseburgers and hot dogs and kielbasa with a little onion and green pepper topping. We'll have much more for the Tailgate on September 21. Now I have to decide which gear gets worn today.

I just got to say how lucky all of you "locals" are to get some sort of coverage of the game. I used to listen to the opponents radio coverage last year on NFL.com, but now that is no longer free.

I have been debating on whether to get DirecTv, but I live in such a small area that I woudn't get local coverage and the wife wants that. This year is going to drive me nuts. All I ever see are the Packers, Bears, Vikings and Lions. You guys truly don't know how lucky you are!

Man, the rain would let up until game time and then started again in the 4th quarter. You all will be proud to know that we tailgated any both before and after in the rain. Be prepared on Sept 21 in case it rains. That won't stop the show. We had way more food and drinks than we needed but that's a good thing. Wouldn't want to come up short. All in all it was alot of fun. The drumline show went over very well at the end of the game. One guy came up to me and said great show and as he extended his hand, I noticed he had a $20 bill in it. I told him I could not accept it (I can't believe I did that). But I feel I'm representing the Skins and entertaining the fans and if they're happy, I'm happy. Everybody teased me about not taking it but hey, next time. I'll put it toward our Tailgate Party.

robert, I couldn't agree more. They are very lucky. I think they understand it though.

About the DirecTV deal. Did you know that you can pay $5 extra dollars a month now to get your local channels? Thats what I do.

I couldn't live without my DTV. I'd have to watch the friggen Panthers.:banghead: But, check into it robert. You may be able to get your local channels and make your wife happy. And most of the time now you can buy them for nothing. You pay $199 up front but you get a mail-in rebate for $199.

Good luck to you man. I hope you get that dish so you can watch the Skins this year.....
