I thought last year all the discussion was the change in the blocking scheme. We changed to a zone blocking scheme to make the best of Portis' running style. I would say it worked pretty good. However, Ray Brown just said on the Redskins post game show, that the blocking scheme changed again with the Saunders offense. Was that change necessary?

I don't know if the run blocking was a huge problem. They seemed to run well when portis was in. Betts wasn't very good.

I don't know why we would change something that worked last year. Portis broke some tackles tonight but, that's just who Portis is period.

Watched replay of game after coming back from Fedex.
Theismann or someone made a good comment / analysis about 3 quarters into the game that a majority of runs for the redskins seem to be going outside vs. between tackles. I think that was done to take advantag of Portis's skills (like on his TD run). Unfortunately, I think Betts is a better between the tackles guy (as is Rock).

I am curious to see if the outside running trend continues. I thought they ran outside to stay away from the Vikes 2 DTs.
