This is an important game for both the skins and girls. Loser goes 0-2, and with the possibility to be 2 games behind the division leader. Its a hole that neither team wants to be in. What are some of the game plans that you have for the Girls?
1) Ball control. This offense must sustain drives that chew up the clock. Keep that offense off the field. The reason is to limit TO's touches, and to limit our defense. This isn't a knock on our defense, but if Springs cannot go, this really hampers our defense in a bad, bad way.
2) Portis must touch the ball at least 25-30 times to win. Whether it be 22 times on the ground, and 4-5 through the air. He is a special back, and needs the rock in his hands. One other note, Cooley better get some touches as well, or it will be another long week.
3) Offensive playcalling must improve. Take our chances down the field when the need arises.
4) Oline and Dline must show up and dominate the trenches. When Brunell scrambles, he does not have the arm to throw it on the run. At this stage of his career, he is a better pocket passer. Dline must get pressure on Bledsoe, early and often, with our front 4. I expect alot of blitzing, but then again, this depends if Springs plays or not. I do not want to see anymore soft zones on 3rd down.

Our secondary SERIOUSLY needs to step up. The Girls will torch us all over the field if we play like we did against the Vikes.
Also, Andre Carter needs to show up. He's getting paid ALOT of money to create a pass rush, and has yet to do so.

Our D-Line should have an easier time this week AND I'm not saying that Dallas O-Line is bad either (the Vikes could have the best in the NFL right now). Carter will show up BUT we really need Wynn to get healthy - he can handle run situations much better. ......... Springs will be out again this week (sounds like) so what you saw last night is what will get again Sunday night - BUT IF we can pressure the QB that will take a lot off the DBs.
OFFENSE - Open up the fricken play book, use the TE, don't hesitate to take shots down the field, use Duckett OR Sellers in short yardage ......... AND let's hope Portis didn't tweek anything last night. .............. Most important, let's not get into a situation where we need a 49 yard field goal to win the game. At least make it 22 yards - Hall's 100% from that distance.

What we are likely to see. ST, Archuletta will be attentative to plays that try to entice a "run" look. ST is fast enough NOT to bite and still recover in time, if it is a run/screen. If SS is in the game, Arch becomes a more solidfying force, and it allows MW to wreck havoc all over the field. Holdman can be spelled by a well rested Rocky, with him getting support from Marshall and Archuletta, who's bound to catch on by the 2nd qtr to the overall flow of the defense (the likely strong QTR for Dallass). Jones will still be used to check the DLine of the Skins, but Parcells likes to make you think it aint so, by most likely passing deep downfield to Glenn, instead of TO or using motion from Glenn to send TO on a route not see yet, even an end around by TO and/or pass. Certainly Julius Jones will have at least one or Glenn.
Rogers will see TO OFTEN! Whether Shawn Springs is in the game or not. Parcells loves to exploit your weakness, but he also likes to prove to you that he can do it without the sacrifice you thought he'd make. So Glenn and Witten are likely to keep the safeties occupied, while Rogers has to keep tackling Jones for a while and then here comes TO.
Does anyone remember the number of BLITZES Parcells uses? Or do you remember more of the standard of his defense simply outplaying you? Once he figures it all out and gets his personnel, it kills you! The best thing to do, is play like there's no tommorow and play YOUR game at its finest. He may have even Bledsoe run one in, or two point conversion after each TD, but you keep plugging away at his team, tooth and nail and stay focused.

We MUST generate a pass rush. If we give Bledsoe the same amount of time that Johnson had our secondary will be in for a long day.

then you would have to see a smash mouth ball control offense. Then the Minnesota game was a good tuneup, because the short game was worked on a lot :lol1:
Nevertheless, the incentive is to score TD's because Portis can't do it alone, and whatever it is that ARE and Lloyd, along with Patten can bring, they better bring it or its a long day at the offense for Brunell trying to untrack. Why? Cooley's on ice this year, at the TE position, not HB.
Or is he? stay tuned! :D

I say we blitz the daylights out of Bledsoe and try to force some turnovers. Either way, were gonna need to score around 27 points to win this thing, so we might as well gamble a little bit defensively. If we stay in these base defense and keep using the same zone blitzes over and over, were gonna get creamed. Also, I don't like having ST blitz right now, cause when he does, we have no coverage over the top. We did that a couple times last night and got burned when they picked up the blitz.

Duckett and Sellers need to carry the rock, pound Dallas' small defense and then take it to the air.

You want Dallas, eh? I'm afraid this year you're going to get Dallas, and a lot of them. You think our D-backs looked awful against the Vikes? Wait till they meet some big-league receivers who actually hold on to a ball that's thrown to them.I hate to say this, but our only hope against Dallas is to play smash-mouth, run-the-ball, keep-it-from-their-offense football. If we're pass happy as we were against the Vikes, we're going to get our butts handed to us.If we don't start using Duckett, we're toast.0-2 - Scary. This week is going to CRAWL by.and then another friggin' night game.I think we'll get killed by Dallas.i do see us beating Houston and then upsetting the Jags at home to get to 2-2. By then I think offensively we will gel a bit more and perhaps our kinks on D will be resolved...along with Springs' injury.i hope there's a few cold ones left in the fridge.

Ok Chicken Little. No offense, but I have confidence with this team. The offense had some hangups, but its fixable. If Springs is out (likely), then we will adjust. Remember that Bledsoe has more moves than a coffee table, combined with the weak OL. That's the key to their offense, the more we get in his face, the more likely we win the game.

To all those people who keep wanting Sellers to carry the ball..it's not gonna happen folks...he has a CAREER total of 2 carries for 3 yards. That's 2 carries in 9 years in the NFL. There has to be a reason.

If Dallas doesn't turn the ball over, they'll win.........
If the Skins cant create turnovers, they'll lose.....
That's simplifying, but that's pretty much what it boils down to.

Here's my keys:
1. We need to establish more of the run. The OLine needs to push the Cowboys DLine off the ball, and open up some holes for Clinton. Also, if it's one of those games, I'd like to see Duckett wear down the Boys' defense a little. If we're fortunate enough to get to the goal line, I'd like to see T.J. in there.
2. Get Cooley involved. We could be able to get favorable matchup with Chris against the Boys' linebackers. They're still young and learning, and showed that last week against the Jags. We can use that to our advantage.
3. Our DLine and backers need to get much more pressure on Bledsoe. Their OLine is not nearly as stout as the Vikes', so we may be able to do something there. Andre Carter needs to come to this game.
4. Get Roy Williams in coverage. Having him up at the line doesn't help us any, and we can exlpoit him in pass coverage with our quick receivers. Have him tire himself out chasing Santana and Randle El all night.
5. Carlos Rogers and the rest of our secondary needs to play the game of their life against the Boys' receiving corps. I'd like to see Sean Taylor attached to T.O., and Adam Archuleta needs to hurry up and get this defense down pat.

Pressure, pressure, pressure, and Rogers needs to get his head out his arse and play some ball. Our secondary can't play like that against the turds or we will get torched on a couple of deep balls. The good thing is that revolving door they call an O-line will give us plenty of opportunity to get that pressure. Hopefully our O-line will also step it up a little.

Well the Boys Oline won't remind anyone of the one we just got owned by so that's a positive :) . I actually like a lot of what I saw last night...if only in spurts. This offense just has to continue to work on their timing and get comfortable with one another, they'll be fine. What has to improve in "lil d"
is our ability to improve our special teams play and to get off the field on 3rd down...more times than not!

Pressure + Bledsoe = Dallas Loss.
Dallas Loss = Washington Win.

pressure bledsoe! he is a turnover machine once you get to him. dallass' OL is not as good as minnesota's, so i expect more sacks from the DL. attack down the field on offense and sustain drives. get portis the ball more and continue to get him out in space. b. lloyd had his best game as a pro against dallass, so hopefully he'll make an appearance in this game.
True, Dallas' OL is a far cry from Minn's......
However, Washington's DL is no where near the quality of Jacksonvilles DL. Dallas allowed 2 sacks against Jax, I'd be suprised to see the Skins get more than that.
Other than that, I agree.......Everyone says pressure Bledsoe, pressure alone wont be enough. They must get sacks and create turnovers! Washington will have to force Dallas into some turnovers, if they're gonna win. Also, they'll have to air it out against Henry, the Skins WR's matchup good against him. If they fail to execute either of the above, they lose.

All 3 phases of the game must improve this week. MUST IMPROVE.
Portis being in the whole game should make things much more effective offensively. We need at least 24 points. At least.
I trust GW to shut down the girls. We did it twice last year. Rattle Bledsoe please.
The only way we can trust Hall is if we are close. If it comes down to needing 3 at the end, we must get it to less than 30 yards. Also, kick coverage needs to be much, much better.
One thing I forgot to add:
The team that wins this game on Sunday will be the team that is more pissed off about how they played in game 1. I sure hope it's us.

good point, but neither stroud, nor henderson were 100% and their starting DE reggie hayward left the game and will be out for the season with an ACL injury. im hoping daniels will be fine and that renaldo wynn can return this week. the last time we played dallass, we sacked bledsoe 7 times, 4 of them coming from daniels alone. gregg williams is going to have to put a better gameplan in this week though.
