Being at the game, I thought the fans were outstanding. From chanting "Defense!" right away after the coin flip to the level of noise on thirds downs to the chanting of "BS BS BS" on the Sean Taylor personal foul. The fans were just totally in sync with each other. The place was electric and its one of the best times I've had at a game in a long time.

For those watching from home, how did the crown look/sound on TV? Did the commentators mention us at all?

I agree, the crowd was great, and VERY loud at times. What frustrated me, though, is that it didn't seem to be a factor to the Vikings much at all. They handled it well.

There was some guy in a Riggins jersey that kept coming up to my area and screaming at people to stand up on third down, calling people that sat "pretenders." It was great. Got everyone fired up. We need more people like that. (Although he got a little annoying when he kept walking around in circles while the offense was on the field).

It sounded great on TV. A couple of times you could hear the crowd well over the announcers. You all did great!!!

I like to measure it by "The Shakes".

When the cameras start shaking from crowd noise, you know you've got it going. I saw that several times during the game.

The booth commented several times about how loud it was, and what a hostile environment FedEx Field is.

Great job, everyone!!!

Where do you sit? We had a guy near us doing the same thing. He kind of got on my nerves though.

Did the guy in the Riggins jersey bear a resemblance to Tom Cruise? ;)

Umm, I wish I was sitting where you guys were, because my section was a touch below medicore. Im in the upper endzone, about 10 rows up, and there were a lot of people sitting on their hands. I could tell the lower bowl was into it, but I've heard from a lot of people dweeling in the uppers that it was mediocre at best.

Im thinking of making a sign that says "If you're not making noise on defense, you must be a Cowboy fan". Perhaps that will get some of these chumps of their butts.

I was in the second row on the goaling. Portis scored right in front of me. I started losing my voice by beginning of the fourth. Man, a great atmosphere. What a horrible outcome.

The crowd was loud at times, but there were still quite a few people that were sitting in the crowd (club level) that refused to stand up and cheer, even when it was crucial times. Just a shame! But for the most part the 12th man did the damn thing, but we still need to take it up a notch!

Yeah, I would have stood up more, but I didn't want to block the view of the lady behind me that had vertigo. And you're right, on offense that guy should have just taken his seat.

We lucked out and got upgraded to loge seating for the game. The guy that smoak and I usually go with got extra tickets and offered them to us. Of course, we had to go. The bar is RIGHT THERE -- 10 feet from the seats, lol.

Anyway, I expected a bunch of stuck up snooty folks there. Yet, they were loud and cheering and making noise. Almost as much as smoak. :)

I have the perfect remedy for that. You can stay in your seat, but that doesn't mean ya can't scream.

Yeah, I do feel badly for older folks or kids that may be sitting behind me. If thats the case, I just lean forward and continue my screaming from my seat until the result of the play....then I get up and jump around and take my seat before the next play. Last night I had Viking fans behind me, so I didn't give a crap if they could see or not.

The stadium looked great...and you could tell the noise was loud by the camera shaking.

Best part, IMO, was when everyone started chanting "USA, USA, USA" after the 9-11 ceremony. They cut to the broadcasters on the sidelines and they couldn't talk over it. It was great...

I sit in section 441 and had the same thoughts. At one point I was standing up screaming on one of the third down plays and felt someone poke me on the back. Then later in the game I heard a guy say " I can't see through you" to my cousin. I don't know what was wrong with that section, it's usually better than that. I wish my seats where on the top rows those guys have a lot of fun.

I could tell from the TV that FedEx was rocking last night. I'm suprised the Vikings didn't get 10 false starts.

Thats my section bro! Where do you sit? I am right in the middle of row 11. I was wearing a Gary Clark jersey last night. And yes....BOO 441. I was waving my arms trying to get people to stand up all night, to no avail. Bunch of stiffs.

...my section was a touch below mediocre. Im in the upper endzone, about 10 rows up, and there were a lot of people sitting on their hands.

I was in the last row of 427 (30yd line-ish). Maybe it was the acoustics from the top row....maybe it was 12th man indifference, but I thought the crowd was also a bit sub-par (at least from my very high RFK influenced expectations). I also saw at least 1 in 10 people in my section sitting on their hands.

At peaks I think 12th man was great, but they only got *really* loud on a couple of occasions. It would have been hard, but I was hoping for more consistency. We were easily deflated by each $#@%$% Vikings 3rd down conversion (and there were a lot of them).

I think the lack of a lot of big plays on offense or defense also had the 12th man not performing as well as it could through the whole game.

Yeah, I made my share of noise sitting down, and I did jump up a few times during big plays...its just an instinct when something happens to jump up for a better look.

I saw you in the Clark jersey, I sit in row 19. You were trying hard too, I only only noticed you and about 3 others in the rows in front of me in the section. I couldn't get anyone going either, it sucked. I don't know why, 441 is usually a pretty loud place.

Get off the crack! Have you seen a KC home game. That place is a sea of red. You never see opposing team colors there. Those are good hardcore fans too.

from what I saw it was great. The thing I don't like is the Redskins are now telling people not to beat on the signs at the top of the stadium when in previous years they wanted you to do it. I've also noticed that security is lil more stringent (and rude) when telling fans to sit down.

Yeah, KC is legit. Seattle might pump some in. I know there were rumors last year about Indy pumping noise in... I'm sure some teams do it... but not KC.

And certainly not FedEx. That's what 90,000 fans can do!

A guy in 108 came up and complained to the usher that the woman in front of him would not sit down. The usher looked confused and asked what else she was doing. The guy said "nothing, she just won't sit" We all started laughing at him.

I was in 426 last season, and for the majority of the year, the crowd was subpar. Only the Dallas game and the NYG game were really repersented well. The 4th quarter of the Chicago game was awesome, but it was a really reserved group up until then.

For those of you at the game, you were great. I remember before the game, the pregame guys had to scream into their mics so that we could here what they were saying. I think with a less composed and younger QB we get 3-5 false starts/delay of games.

I'm surprised by this thread because the guys on ES are saying the EXACT opposite things about the crowd. Just reading the thread over there was make me depressed. I take our hR guys far more seriously so now I feel better. There is going to be a problem if some healthy person behind me during the jags game tells me to sit down. I'm going to ask them to kindly return to their couch at home. I'm lucky to go to one game a year and I am going to damn well enjoy it.

Did somebody say 12th Man? LOL - I can actually smell it when there is a 12th Man thread on here...

I dont know what the dudes over at ExtremeSkins are talking about, if they think the crowd was lacking last night. I watched the game back (yes, I wanted to punish myself and move on), and the 12th Man was in full effect. Not to say derogatory things about their message board, but they seem to specialize in the "sky is falling" mentality over there, and their views on the crowd are no different. If they compared the current 12th Man to that of the Turner and Spurrier years, they may sing a different tune.

Supe'sSibling82 had a similar experience, being told to "sit down" by a lady seated behind him. I won't tell you what he said to her, lol.

The house was rockin, as it will be again when the Jags come to town and we improve to 3-1.

Hey guys, sounded good to me...Normally I sit in section 427 and I agree with a lot of you that the upper level, except for certain occasions, doesn't get nearly as amped as the lower level. I've sat in the lower level a few times and normally the atmosphere is much louder. I'm not sure if people in the upper level feel like they are too far away from the action to matter...just think how loud the place would get if upper level never let up

I've only been on the lower level and it is amazing down there. It is so loud it's not even funny. For any young QB that will come here should expect a beatdown.

Four are my dads and my brother has two, I usually go to any game I want to. Something needs to be done, because that was pathetic. It wasn't like that last year, I've never been told to sit down.
