The start of the NFL regular season can mean only one thing that matters to all who dwell within the civilized world: The return of The World’s Most Prestigious Power Poll. Piping hot wisdom to be found below…
01. Pittsburgh Steelers [1-0]: Super Bowl champs win without the Bus or Roethlisberger. Did you see Bettis over the weekend? He’ll be 400 lbs by midseason. [NC]
02. Seattle Seahawks [1-0]: NFC Champs struggled to beat a lousy Lions team in Detroit, but they’ll pull that offense together. Acquiring WR Deion Branch will make it easier. [NC]
03. Indianapolis Colts [1-0]: Manning bowl 1 goes to Peyton, but the Colts must be more patient with their running game if they are to ever overcome their playoff problems. [NC]

Thanks Spence...I laughed out loud for the first time today while reading that..great job as usual!
(And by the way, who could have thought that after the first game our main complaint with Saunders would have been that he was too reluctant to open up the playbook??!!)

I think this poll is fair by most standards, but....,
We struggled against better leadership, and still had a chance to tie them with guys that are just starting to come together as a team.
Yet you give the Seattle Seahawks props as high as the top 5?
I disagree. I think the Seahawks are looking a serious reality check this year, with their offense.
I think we may rate higher to at least 10-15, but 21? I am sure you're not a homer, that's for sure :lol1:

I thought the Houston commment was hilarious. Nice job on the poll. I would put it in a completely different order, but that's beside the point. These things are always fun to read.

The famous SPP ........... A good thing to lift the spirits this week.
1 and 2 got to give it to the two teams that appeared in the SB last year (in order too) until they get beat. 3-10 could all easily be tied to #3 spot. I'm not ready to believe that we are below dallas yet (I know but I don't care if it's just one spot). ............. Oakland is still way below Green Bay - somewhere in that little hole just below whale poop (GB is hanging on above but just barely)
GREAT STUFF Spence ........... It's all good!!!!

i disagree with the rankings having all the teams that won up top and the losing teams in the bottom half, there are some teams that even tho they lost, are better than some of the teams that won. like st louis over denver

BUT not this week based on the end results (W/L) although I do understand where you're statement. By week four, it will work out accordingly.

Comment about the New Jersey Jets is hilarious! Thanks!
I liked that one too Spence! :lol1:
I always thought that the Jets tried to disown being on NJ turf.
