I got some bad news yesterday.
A great man, by the name of Hal McClellan, passed away in his sleep on Friday. It was a shock and it upset me greatly.

I must tell you...I've never even met the man.
I became friends with him through posting on a Bulletin Board, just as I have with all of you here at HR., amazing thing these sites! They allow us to meet wonderful people that we would otherwise never have had the privilege to know.

So on Friday, amongst all of the military ceremonies, police honors, Scottish Tartans and wailing bagpipes, his children will lay him to rest amongst dozens of cards and flowers from strangers whom they've never met, and probably never will meet, but who loved their father just the same.

Wow. I'm sorry to hear that AGG.

You're right, these MBs are great to get to meet people that you/we would never have the chance to normally.

Sorry about the loss of your "cyber" friend....

Sorry to hear tha6t AGG. I had the same thing a few years back, when a man, whom I knew was an elderly man, just from his posts. He was the perfect wise man. He always seemed to have the best answers to everything. his screen name was Will, I believe and he never told anyone he had cancer, that I had known anyway and his son posted one day to inform us of his death. I believe the site even put his name at the top of the pages to honor him.

It is funny how someone you never met in person, just on the net can have such a profound effect on people. It is just amazing.

My prayers and thoughts to Hals family and friends.
