3. Joe Bugel/Al Saunders, offensive coaches for the Redskins: Some critics said the game passed Bugel and the rest of Joe Gibbs' coaching staff by. Not true. Some said Saunders' offense needs Tony Gonzalez to work. Not true. And still others said Mark Brunell was over the hill. Not true either. Jacksonville has one of the best defenses in the NFL, and Bugel's line and Saunders' game plan helped put 36 points on the board for the win. As one Redskin lineman said to me, "We knew we could move the ball on the Jaguars and there was no doubt we would win this one." Any time a team logs 481 yards of offense -- 152 of it on the ground -- against John Henderson, Marcus Stroud and Co., the line was blocking and the play-calling was excellent. Brunell threw 30 times and wasn't sacked once, which is another feather in Bugel's cap. Saunders' play-calling resulted in a 50 percent success rate on third downs, which tells me the Redskins are truly back in the NFC East race.
nice......

I still hate that name. It just seems so manufactured. In any case, GO DIRTBAGS!

Just right now on "Point after" Sheftner was saying the same thing as Saunders offense needs to get the passing game going. if we can get some big plays the game is over.

Buges is too "no-nonsense" to have come up with a "manufactured" name.

after watching the giants for the last 3 games, there is no way a game with them is over until the clock hits 00:00.

Honestly, does anyone outside of the team and message boards call them the Dirtbags? I haven't heard that name once other than here.

It takes more than "Dirtbags" to handle Stroud and Henderson, thats for sure.

I've heard the commentators on the games constantly refer to the OL as "The Dirtbags." Madden even did it.

i think that is why we need to run the ball about 35 or 40 times per game. it lets the o-line beat up on those big guys and wear them down.

Lets make a bet. IF the Redskins win this week, you can not say anything negative or disapproving until we lose again. ;)

I think we will play a different offense against the Giants hitting them in the Gut more than the outside. They are out with Clemons and with two fast ends we can pound them up the gut and possibly have another good game with the Dirtbags.

i think it's perfect to have Bugel down there on the sidelines with Gibbs and Saunders up in the booth to call plays.

without emmons it should be easier to run on them.. but we will still have to commit to it fully..
