shake out? I have been out of the country and have not been able to watch the games yet. In your opinon(s) which recievers look the best? and how many do you think we will keep now.

Well, I've only seen the Panthers game so I really don't know who stays and who goes. Of course you have the first 4 or 5 that will make it.

Coles
Gardner
Jacobs
Russle

Then I think you have the second tier(?) of WRs

McCants (I think he makes it though)
Johnson
Cloman (I'm pulling for him to make it)
Flowers
Woodcock

I think we'll keep 6 in the end.

Coles
Gardner
Jacobs
Russle
McCants
Cloman

Mike, I totally agree with you (sounds familiar... ;))

Mike's got a good handle on it. The only thing I'll add to that is there will probably be no WR released until the last cut UNLESS there are some serious screwups this game against B-more from those second group of recievers.

My picks for the #5 & #6 spots ......... Cloman, Johnson.

So Pat, you think McCants don't make it? And Pat Johnson will?

Interesting.....;)

I like McCants alot (really good artist too) but I just have this gut feeling that SS has not be too happy with him this camp. ....... AND it really going to be a down to the wire choice but like I said it will be who screws up OR in Johnson's case a good catch - lot of yards using his speed.

I don't think Patrick Johnson has been impressive at all. I wodul have him near the bottom. Fact is with McCants, he needs to get his ass on the field and prove why he belongs here. Last year's performance was last years.

I'm still not sure how some of you think P. Johnson deserves a spot on our team!

He hasn't shown me ANYTHING.

He has 2 catches for 33 yards, 1 special teams tackle, 2 punt returns for 8 total yards and 1 FUMBLE! (Not to mention a dropped pass or two)

Am I missing something?

I think a lot of people are forgetting how valuable McCants is to our team. He is our tallest receiver, and has the big hands and jumping ability needed for a viable red zone target. He is the perfect compliment to our speedy recievers in Coles, Jacobs and Russell. AND HE IS THE ONLY CURRENT WR AISDE FROM GARDNER WITH REGULAR SEASON GAMETIME EXPERIENCE UNDER SPURRIER!

I would be very surprised to see Spurrier give the nod to P. Johnson and/or Cloman over DMC, considering Johnson and Cloman have TWO measly catches a piece this offseason.

I agree DJ about PJ. As for McCants, you have to put up every year to remain in the game. Time to get his ass off then bench and put up.

I agree with DJ, currently withoutMcCants, we miss a redzone target.

I don't see patrick johnson making the roster. He's dropped so many passes. What good is speed if you can't catch.

Well said Highlander. I was thinking the same thing. Like they say in baseball.......catching the ball is only half of making the play. You must make a good throw....

Same goes with football. You must catch the ball before you can use your speed. One isn't good without the other...

I don't like Johnson much. Hopefully Spurrier learned that smallish, fast guys with bad hands don't work out so well last year with the Jacquez Green experiment.
