Honestly, I think champ is getting ripped off :( . He's easily the best corner in football and ty law is no where near as good as champ but he gets almost the same bonus as he does. Maybe this deal just a long term deal with much money not just the signing bonus. And if we put the franchise tag on him he will be very pissed and thats the last thing we want from him. But if dan can get away with this offer, great for him.:D

I like Bailey but seriously 'ripped off?!' He'll get paid well but in return we should get a discount for resigning him before his contract is up.

Please.
What good is a "shut down corner" if the QB has 10 seconds to throw?
I would rather use the money on a STUD DE and get a lesser corner honestly.

I think the Bonus is very fair.
I'm torn on this as well. Yes I want to resign Champ and I think a $14+ million dollars is good enough. Remember, thats just the guarenteed money. He'll still be getting paid his yearly wages.
And at the same time I feel like if we give more it'll put the whole team at a disadvantage. How would we be able to have other good players if our SB are taken up by 5-10 players?

well there are no good de's that are free agents. And I think we already gave up on grady jackson, ted washington, and keih traylor at dt. Even if the qb does get like 10 seconds to throw champ still fricken covers him. He's to important to the team. Theres not many in the league that compare. Surtain doesnt have anything on champ.

I think the deal is fair, he's paid as the #1 as he wanted. And it's still a first proposition. Contract will surely be a litlle higher somewhere around 15.5M$ SB...

I would rather use the money on the Jets' Abraham to be quite honest, whether he is best as a DT or DE.

Champ underpaid? Probably. But, 14.5 mil bonus is high enough. Come one man, even guys like Champ have got to realize that, $14.5 mil is damn good money, and claiming stake to anymore will seriously cause repercussions on the rest of the team. Why woudl you want to resign with a team at a $19 mil bonus, in which the team will or may have to watch several veterans like Gardner or Lavar go because of cap costs. I thought these guys also wanted to play for playoffs, get to the Superbowl, get out of this damn funk we are in. Resigning here at an extraordinary cap cost will continue to keep this team in mediocrity. Get all the money you can. Well, 14.5 is great money
I guess my point is that I am sick of hearing how these guys tire of playing in a sitatuion where the team is 7-9 or 8-8. Well, demanding $18 mil bonuses is going to keep the team at those levels.

The Redskins offered him a deal in which he would be the highest paid corner in the league. Champ wants to stay with the Skins. And having a corner of his caliber is needed....
