Ugh. This is probably what Coach Gibbs meant when lamenting our schedule. The Gints had two weeks to prepare for us, and now so will Indy...
If it were possible, my week ahead just got that much more depressing. I thought the Texans was a must win. Now the Titans fall into that same category.

This sucks, but it should be no excuse. We need the W.

It's our secondary vs. Peyton Manning that gives me the heebie-jeebies. They must be licking their chops.
First take care of the Titans, but then? Where do you begin to shut down Manning-Harrison-Stokely-Wayne?
Nooooooooooo...

The thing that sucks about the Titans game is that, even if we win, we're still in trouble if we don't beat Indy the next week.
Hopefully next year this team will learn that you have to hit the regular season running and not slowly build up to being a good team along the way. That loss to the Vikings is now bigger than ever.

If this team falls to Indy, and is .500 at our bye then what? This team is just way too frustrating to follow at times. I just wish our real team would show up for the games every week.

If we can make it to .500 or better at the bye, we have a shot, albeit a small one.
Because honestly, we can only afford 3 more losses, and even THAT might not do it.
And who, watching this team right now, thinks we can go the rest of the season with only three losses? Not me. Not unless they go on a three-game winning streak coming up.

I agree about the 3 more losses. Even at 10-6, someone may not get into the playoffs. What's worse, is that we are now 0-3 in the NFC.

0-2 in the East is more troubling...

Yeah, last year we couldn't beat the AFC to save our lives, this year it's the NFC.
That's what gets me the most as a Long-time fan. I'm just DYIN' for some consistency from one week, one year to the next.
In Gibbs' first go-round, there were always some surprises here and there, but for the most part, you knew what the team was going to bring on Sunday. I have no idea about this team.
What upsets me the most is that they just couldn't seem to get up for this game emotionally. That is mind boggling to me, and the whole team should be ashsamed. If they're NOT ashamed, then we have no chance whatsoever.

Not sure how much of the energy was taken out of them, from the Jax game, but it is true, we lacked a consistent pass rush, a consistent pass defense as well. We also hurt our chances on offense with HOLDING BACK using the bigger packages for runs, not just short yardage. I realize the coach covets his playbook and all, but lets be honest, if the players don't have the heart or passion, who cares?
I feel this in appearance looks like the coach's fault (LaVar is a god in NY tonight for the piddly weak looking win) may be awful, but.......NOT!
In a 16 game schedule, its about the 6-8 game mark, tell tale signs start showing of the team's character, fortitude and commitment to the team. in the first 3-5 games, you want to establish a consistent effort teamwise. The hearts and minds are willing, but the flesh is weaker. The guys were moving a bit slower motion than last week, while the Giants picked up their game. We didn't answer the bell after getting knocked down. Their win wasn't all that, as much as we weren't all that. The team's offense still was given chances and came away limp, but not because we really didn't show up, we just didn't show up BETTER!

I'll be honest. Giving Peyton Manning two weeks to prepare for our defense scares the bejeezus out of me. We will our offense to hold on to the ball for a very long time, and end drives in points. Peyton Manning needs to be off that field for as long as possible.

If someone, at this point, decided to NOT come here for the game, I'd understand, but we just don't know enough of something before most games, to know what's up. If Shawn Springs is already declared out for the Indy game, I would tell folks don't show, because of ALL the NFL teams that have a passion for its offense, EVERY game ALL GAME< and the PASSING game is their staple, ITS the Colts! They don't let up, but remember, not that I wish this on any player, we don't know what can happen to Manning and/or Harrison, Wayne, etc.
Faith is something you believe in, though the evidence isn't visible to the naked eye. However, this isn't about just feeling what you believe, its about PHYSICAL evidence, apparency and very transparent about intent, ability and demonstration. If you took the defense you saw today for Washington and placed it against the Colts or Philadelphia, it is MOST embarrasing, no OBSCENE to even think what the outcome would be.
I am here, because I live here, but I leave it at that. My loyalty is to my team no matter their outcome, so hopefully their loyalty will give them a better outcome. If its one game I would tell others to most likely save their money and go to another game, tis' the Indy game. However, its not my intent. I understand the fans pain, but we WILL bounce back within these weeks coming and with 2 wins done, we have some magic numbers and I believe we do it and even steal yet an additional game. The Indy game isn't likely, because the Colts bye, is starting this evening and they will be in better defensive shape too, planning wise, since they know Simon (DT) won't be back.

With Corey Simon out, we should be able to run the ball against them. Just to put this out there, Manning has not put up exceptional numbers except for week two yet this year, so I think we should be able to contain them if we make then run the ball. Manning will check to a run if we drop off the line.

We need to put a 2 defensive linemen and 9 DBs or anyone that can run at all and hope and pray for a blizzard and hail strom so Manning has to throw in that weather....

We're playing at Indy so unless the snow keeps Manning and Harrison from making it to the dome, weather won't be a factor in this one.

I said the exact same thing earlier today. We could afford the road losses but that loss at home against an NFC team will be hard to make up for.
Last year, it took a 5 game winning streak to make the playoffs. This year, it will take more.

Our defense has not stopped anyone this season. We're at the mercy of our offense which sputters. I think the Giants only punted onec amd that was like in the middle of the 3rd. Every team thus far has been able to move the ball at will against us. There's so many holes in the pass coverage, I'm baffled as to how this can be when we're not even blitz crazy.
Looking at the schedule objectively I see maybe a .500 ball (+/-1) club this season unfortunetely. if we manged to actually get into the playoffs I don't see us getting far at all anyway.
Indy's strengths will highlight our defensive weakness. The only chance we have is to control the ball with our offense. Even then, I see Indy getting at least a FG every possesion.
What happened to our defense?!

While we're at it though, let's not disrespect the Titans right now and look right over them. They were more than a formidale foe for the Colts, and we'll be in really bad shape if we lose to them. The Colts are not even on the radar at this moment, we have to beat the Titans at home.

I feel exactly as I felt before the Texans game. I only hope we repeat our performance in Houston and restore our faith going forward.

the titans played the colts tough.. i do not think they are capable of playing 2 tough games in a row.. that said, if the skins sleepwalk through another effort like today, they will lose to the titans.

True, mobile QB's give us fits. I can see Vince Young salivating right now against this D.

young lacks accuracy at this point.. he will not beat us with his legs..if we lose it will be because young finds his receivers enough to burn our defense and our offense cannot put points on the board

Young is not a very good QB right now. All he has is his legs. He makes bad, bad decisions with the football and is just not very accurate. I'm not sure if he will ever be a good NFL QB.

let us hope we do not make him look like a good qb next week.. we will have trouble getting pressure on him so he should have ample time to spot receivers...

He's actually one of the few QBs that you would prefer to keep in the pocket and make beat you with his arm and head. So, naturally, we'll be blitzing him incessantly, lol.

Nah, I never doubted that McNabb could play QB in this league. He's smart, athletic and a good leader. He had a poise, even as a rookie. I'm not seeing any of that from Young aside from the athleticism, which everyone knows he posseses.

Even if we beat the Titans AND Indy we're in trouble. We have NO (allow me to repeat) NO NFC wins. We are getting any tiebreakers unless we ruin the table pretty much. Break out the forks, this team came out dead in a huge game and now theor goose is cooked.

I won't say that till the next 4-game stretch. If we win the next two we face NFC rivals. Anything can happen... but you do realize Dallass is playing Houston next week and Philly is playing New Orleans.
Must win against Tennessee? You betcha!

Arch and Carter are not the problems. Both have played pretty well the last two weeks, carter in particular has been getting good pressure. The problem is mainly the cornerbacks. Rumph and Wright have played poorly and Rogers has been inconsistent. I cut Rogers some slack since they have put him on an island most of the time.
Never thought I would miss Walt Harris!

As much as I hated Walt Harris, I totally feel the same way.
Oh yeah, by the way.......he recorded 3 interceptions yesterday. Wow, how come he never played like that for us?
