The White on White now?

I think any additional mojo they were giving us has officially worn out.

I hear you on sarcasm regarding the nay sayers but when do you propse we hit the panic button? in january when we're looking back on a 7-9 season? I'm all for optimism but this team has not given us anything to show that they're capble of being a playoff contender. PLayoff contenders are consistent. They might not blow teams out but they do what's necessary to win. We do not. The beat teams they should, we do not. On top of all that, The blue print for beating us is common knowledge. Run the ball, go deep on PA passes. Keep our D on the field, pressure our QB, stack the line with 8 in the box, etc. I'm not giving up on this team and never will, I'm just saying we've got alot of things to fix or the wheels will come off the bandwagon.

First if you listened to any of the media yesterday, they made a comment that made a lot of sense....they said that there is only about 3 or 4 teams playing consistent ball right now. The Bears being one of them. They even said that the Colts weren't one of them, which I agree with. Now before anyone goes off and overstates the obvious, I know that the Colts are undefeated. But they haven't really been playing good ball. Now they have been doing what we should be doing, and that is finding a way to win. I think the only reason that they are and were not....is because they're being aggressive a lot more.

Now on to your 2nd point...this blue print that you mentioned to beat us, is the exact same blue print to beat every team in the league. We just got outplayed yesterday..period! Actaully we didn't match the intensity. That is why I'm never a fan of trash talking before a game. I just feel like it has a bad mojo attached with it!

We should really blame this all on Smoak....He's the one that played with the damn Majic 8-ball! (j/k Bry)

You do realize that one team is undefeated and the other has been embarassed twice in 5 games right? The Colts aren't the best comparison for us right now IMO.
But I agree with your last point. ;)

I'm not saying that we're anything like the colts, I'm just saying that there are only a handful of teams that are playing consistent ball. Every sunday you cut on the TV and the team that was kicking :moon1: last week is playing like a highschool team the following week. That's what my point is!

point taken about consistency but like you said, they find a way to win. Look at the Jags. they lost to the colts and to us. but they turned right around after both losses and put together impressive wins. They're a good team right now. Hell, they played very well in the loss to us. I don't agree with the media about the 4 or so teams playing consistent ball. There's more then that. It's just that our ups and downs are alot more exagerated. no one expected us to blow out every team like we did the texans but at the same time, I didn't expect such wild inconsistency.

I agree, but our reason for wearing them seemed to be that we didn't want to change up a good thing. It's no longer a good thing and they are quite possibly the worst uniform combination we have ever worn.

Well, I don't want to sound TOO optimistic (cause apparently today if you do you'll get slammed on this board) but I think Indy IS a good comparison to us.

The combined records for teams that we played against is 11-11 while Indy's is 8-15. If you take away the common opponents, Indy's combined records falls to 2-8 while ours is at 5-4.

Indy was only 5 pts better than NY Giants (they struggled in the second half offensively). Peyton and Co got lucky against NYJ and TEN by pulling out a win on bone-headed plays by the QB (int of Penn at the IND 2 to put them up 21-14) or not being gutsy enough (up 13-0 on Indy and started playing prevent).

The quality of opponents for us are much better than Indy's and it's conceivable that if we played the same schedule as Indy we could be 4-1 or 5-0 as well... Indy's just not as dominant as the previous 2-3 yrs.

Indy's opponents are 8-10 when not playing the Colts. Our opponents are 8-9 when not playing us. Not much difference there huh?
Look, if you wanna think that we are as good as the Colts, fine, do so. All I know is that they are 5-0 and first place in their division. We are 2-3 and last place in ours. That is a pretty big difference IMO.
And while Indy "was only 5 points better than the Giants", we couldn't even score 5 points in the whole game against them.

I never liked the W/W look but I tolerated it during our stretch run last year. Now I despise it. Bring back the burgundy pants with the white jerseys as our home uni. Next year, bring back the throwbacks.
Oh and I like the black cleats. I have always hated white shoes.

Spicy, what about the removal of the COMMON OPPONENTS?!?!? Indy still played against teams with a combined 2-6 record?!?!? Again, if we played both of those teams that Indy faced, we would probably be sitting at 4-1... and yes, I know the other two teams we faced would give up a 3-2 record but that's still above 500, right???

I know you're pissed about our season (I am too) but to tell me that you think Indy is a LEGIT 5-0 team is ridiculous. I'm not saying we're a great team... we've got worse problems than the Colts. But what I'm saying is the Colts are no where near the "automatic loss" they were the last two years... there just isn't too many complete teams out there. We still have a chance at a good season?!?!?

when you think of Sonny, or Bill Kilmer, or Ken Houston, Joe Lavender, Pat Fischer, or Taylor & Jefferson, George Allen, Bill Brundidge, the dancing bear Sistrunk, Mike Bass, Larry Brown...what colors do you see?

i agree with you keino. ive been saying it for weeks. the players choose to wear the white on white though. maybe if we go back to the traditional red on white/ white on red, the skins will play redskins football again.

If the Skins ever change to black jerseys, they will permanently lose my merchandise dollar. It isn't a knock to Lady's work which is always amazing, but I hate black jerseys unless your team wears black (Raiders, Falcons, etc). Either keep it the same or go back to the throwback look with the true burgundy and gold.

And no color jersey is going to make our defense look "intimidating". We just need to focus on playing better football.
