If anyone here thinks that we're done, we're the bottom dwellers of the division, we can't win, or is still pissed at yesterday....Go, Leave, get off the bandwagon...Wow, we lost to the Giants, we got man-handled, we had no emotion....this exact same thing happened last year, the Giants were motivated, the were ready, the a lot to prove, and they out-played and out-coached us (I'm starting to sound like a Giant) We lost, we've done it a lot over the years, it happens...put it on the back burner, let the Skins haters tell you about how much the Skins suck because they lost, we've dealt with these losses before and last year we made the playoffs even after being absolutely destroyed by the Giants...Be pissed if you want, but don't say we're done after one loss bad loss, 2-3 isn't the end of the world, it doesn't matter about where every other team in the division is, we can only take care of our business...Gibbs & Co just got a wake up call that they still are where they need to be with preparation and gameplan, we have another confidence builder game against the Titans, then we go to Indy, where they have their own problems with consitency, we can sneak a win out of them.....If we can go 4-3 into the bye, we'll be fine, think optimistic people, calm down and if you still feel we're done, get off the bandwagon, we'll pick you up next year.

I admire you're fire- can you go hang around Redskins Park?:lol1: Seriously, the Titans played well yesterday. no team in the NFL can be deemed a "confidence builder". I'm usually very optimistic but our Beloved Skins keep giving us reality checks that we can't ignore. If we couldn't win in the "Deadowlands" what makes you think we can steal a win in the RCA dome? no one is bailing on the skins, especially not me. I'm just being a little more realistic than you. I'm saying we need to fix alot before the next game. You're already looking past Tennesse- big mistake.

I haven't seen many people saying "We're done." I know I'm not saying that.
But you'd have to be totally deluded to not see the huge obstacles this team has to overcome to be consistently competitive and make a run at this thing.
They were 5-6 last year and pulled it out, so I'm hoping they can do it again. But getting that same lightning to strike twice is not so easy.
As for the Titans being a confidence building game? I don't see it. We SHOULD beat them. If we do, we've basically proven little. Hopefully it'll be a HEALING type of game and we can get some people (Springs?) back for Indy. But in no way should we look past Tennesse, because they will beat us if we aren't totally focused.

I'm not saying the Colts game is a sure loss, but I don't see how you can compare our lack of consistency with theirs. They might play a bit better one week compared to the next, but so far have ALWAYS won. We alternate good games on offense with pitiful ones, and our defense so far has played consistently bad. There is a reason they are 5-0 and we are 2-3.

I'm still being realistic, I'm looking past the Titans yes, but Gibbs & Co aren't, and they'll be ready, plus we as fans are probably more worried about the Colts then the Titans....We have the talent to win, we all know that, it hasn't always translated on the field, but we have the talent, that's why I have confidence in this team......Playing a division game at the Meadowlands is still very different from the RCA Dome, the Titans had a great game plan against the Colts, and we have more talent on D, and if Springs can play, it can change the game drastically....Peyton Manning is the Best QB in the NFL, especially when it comes to picking apart D's, but he's been less effective without a strong running game, our D needs a nice confidence builder against the Titans, they need to ruffle Vince Young's feathers, and just punish everyone to get ready for the Colts....the Colts D also has been largely inconsitent as well, we can sneak out with a win due to the inconstitencies of the Colts...We still match up well against the Colts
Also, no one is saying the words, "we're done" but people are implying our mediocracy and that we won't be able to do this or that and that we can't go anywhere

I understand some negativity after a game we are all upset that our team lost but some people take it too far. My observation after watching yesterday's game.......1.Both offensive and defensive lines sucked 2.Brunell could have been better 3.Our CBs couldn't cover 4. LBs couldn't tackle 5. Coaches couldn't get the plays in fast enough in the first half 6. Kicking a FG when we only needed a yard and we needed more than 3 points to keep up. Hall for missing the FG.
Good things:
Portis ran hard, Santana and Cooley made plays when they had the opportunity.

It's not the 2-3 record I'm worried about. It's the 0-2 division record. One more division loss and we're cooked. Chances are, if we right the ship and somehow manage a 9-7 or 10-6 record, we will be tied with at least one other team in our division and if we are 3-3 in our division, we will be watching someone else in the playoffs.
Same goes for our conference record, which is 0-3 right now. We aren't going to win any tiebreakers for a wild card spot.
Basically, we need a big winning streak of 5-6 games and we need a lot of help in the form of a few teams going on serious losing streaks.

I honestly don't see us making the playoffs this year at the rate we're playing. Sure we'll win a couple of good one's but, they won't be pretty. I loved the Jax win but, I was anything but, confident. I was just happy to see us move the ball but, then again they could too. Again, this week we gave up the long yardage to our opponent just as we did with Jax. It's kinda weird. For awhile we hold them to the third downs but, then we let those long situations get past us in the secondary.
Yes we made the playoffs and advanced but, it came down to the wire. We got lucky with Philly last year with having injured players and the whole TO factor. They are playing very well right now and although Dallas is beatable we will still have a tough time at it. I'm not counting them out just yet but, am thinking if we don't do something soon, there will be a snowballs chance in hell we become playoff bound. If I recall right last year too Dallas was a contender too but, luck pushed us ahead. We need some division games under our belts. I am dangerously close to saying I'd like to see Campbell sling the ball. Not that I disapprove of Brunell but, more because I think we still have some growing to do and we may as well get our starter in there. Took McNabb some years to get where he is and I'm told that's what they see in Campbell.

At 2 and 3 we still control our own destiny. Although we have played inconsistent, I still maintain the only team that can beat us is ourselves. Let's beat the Titans and get this thing turned around.
Also, I do see some fans that are down (rightfully so), but not people ready to jump ship.

Will someone please HIT THE PANIC BUTTON!! SOMEONE?!?!?
If there was such a thing, now is the time to press it, not when it's too late.
The season is NOT over.. it's not cooked......yet.
However, we HAVE to get this team turned around RIGHT HERE!
If we want a chance to grab a wildcard at 10-6, we have to go 8-2! (assuming loss @indy). There is no time for working things out or giving things time to gel. GOTO PLAN B RIGHT NOW. Saunders needs to move pass this shuffle passing offense thats now obviously been over exposed on film for too many weeks. ....And if he needs to make player changes to get his REAL offense executed then by ALL means get it done. This is no time to hold onto player's feelings and friendships. That time was on opening day when its "all good". WAKEUP!! RED ALERT!! MAN YOUR BATTLE STATIONS!! Its all about survival now.
We need to get aggressive on offense AND defense. ATTACK ATTACK like the APACHE!... Set the tempo, hit someone in the mouth, and then hit em AGAIN. We're playing scared AGAIN on both sides of the ball..
Someone better do "it" NOW because we are a handful of losses away from being out of the hunt, and there's still alot of games left!!
These players NEED TO GET MAD.. I see a bunch of pouters, and excuse makers in the lockeroom.
The current shuffle passing offense has been sniffed out!

We should start going with the "no huddle" offense to keep defenses off balance and winded. Seems to work for everyone else.

With all due respect, we currently reside at the bottom of the division. We have played 2 divisional road games, and the home team took care of business. But we are in must win every week mode now, especially division games. We need a winning record in the division, which means we have to go 4-0 from here on out.
As far as the Colts inconsistency, they are 5-0, nothing inconsistent about that. Talk about a bad showing over the past couple of weeks if you want, but if we happen to be the week they explode, we are in trouble.

yea what's the deal with that? why do we take so long to get plays in? Part of having a Vet QB is to let him decide which plays to run. We should send like 3 or 4 plays and let MB decide at the line which ones to run.

We havent had that problem this year except for a bit in the dallas game. Brunell must be having trouble getting the play call through the crowd noise.

All I can say is it really gets ya pissed when you play two teams over the past two weeks and you adverage 30 points and we can't even score two touchdowns and kick two field goals (20pts) to when a game that counts (for real). We are all disappointed. We know our team can play better. I don't think anything is over though. It was one game. We will improve.

Im as tired of this "roller coaster ride" team as the next person. Theres no excuse for our crappy play yesterday, but i think everyone needs to calm down, we'll right this ship, have faith. Most of us were all ready to throw in the towel last year at 5-6, then things started cranking. Yeah, I was one of those that were ready to stop watching football last year around that time. I was really hoping that the Skins could come out and play w/ some consistency this year. I am prone to motion sickness on these kinds of roller coaster rides.
As frustrating as this lose is, it is like Mike Wilborn says in his Monday column in the Washington Post: "What did you expect, really?" This is a divisional game that we played in their house. You are expected to win your home divisional games at least, and maybe steal one or two road games as well. We don't look like we could steal candy from a baby right now, even if GW blitzes 2 linebackers..... (Sorry, starting to get negative...)
Still, it is good to try and keep this in perspective. There is a lot of games left in the schedule. The Skins have the ability to right the ship. I only hope they do so sooner than last year.
Deep breaths......

I didn't want to throw in the towel last season. I will say this though. Even in a loss I like to see improvement. Yesterday we just plan sucked.... We are good for a bad one but just not like that. You can't say that we gave up if we never seemed to put forth the effort "as a team". Our guys have to play as a team. No one can do it alone. I prayed a lot yesterday and I was positive.... I did my part. WE, AS A TEAM...... did not.
I didn't bet on the game. Honestly I don't bet on games.... Im just upset that our team didn't display 1% of the talent that they have.
Im positive, and I believe. Im just hurt,... Like someone just told me the true story about Santa Clause and who really put the toys under the tree.

Our team is stout on defense. Nothing to see here, people. Move along.

Maybe this feel good thing is picking up steam. I've been watching the boards for a couple of hours today and the negative threads are not out of control.

Oh, and the sky is not falling folks. We just have to hope that every other team suffers a rash of dibilitating injuries, lol.

I got on this "bandwagon" in 1972. Anyone who wants to draw back a stump can try to push me off. That doesn't mean I can't be aggravated by or, as in this case, positively disgusted at a loss.
But the 2006 edition Redskins have been alternately very good and pathetically bad. Yesterday was the latter.
Like Shally, I am terribly disappointed at the tone of the game maybe moreso than the outcome. Our team got embarrassed up in the swamps of Jersey last year. A man with any pride takes that personally and shows up with a fire in his belly to let the other man know that he is better than what he showed last time. Instead, they laid down like AstroTurf (TM). Williams and Saunders need to wear T-shirts to practice that say "Tom Coughlin is my Daddy". How @$%^#&*^@# sad is that? The defense needs pink ones that read "I'm Tiki's Special Friend". The offense blocked less than H&R Block. Brunell has happier feet than Fred Astair in "Top Hat" and pats the ball like his favorite lab. Sad.

Gibbs and co now need make sure the fire and hunger is there for the Titans game and remind the players of how they produced against the Jags.

That is really hitting the nail on the head. I am trying to not go nuts over this loss, if you think of how competitive the division is, you would expect to win the ones at home and lose the ones away, which is what we have done. It is way too early to give up on the season, we are 2-3 and right in the hunt. However, they really are digging themselves a hole for the division (despite the fact that it would have been better for us, I just couldn't bring myself to root for the Cowgirls last night), and for the wild card too with that 0-3 conference record.
As far as improvement, it will have to come from within. Good players generally are not traded before the trading deadline (next Tuesday) and we don't really have any ammo to trade with, unless someone wants to take David Patten or TJ Duckett off our hands. Getting Springs back will make a huge difference, I think, IF he can play to last year's level. Rogers has not made the progress everone was expecting in year 2, and Wright has been a big disappointment. Rumph is what he is, a overdrafted player who is no more than a 4th or 5th corner in the league. We gave up nothing (i.e. Taylor Jacobs, who has zero catches for a WR-starved 49ers team) to get him, and he was an improvement over what we had. Neither Wright nor Rumph should be logging much playing time on a very good defense. We will need Rogers to step it up, Wright to rediscover the form of years past (he has been a very good player in the league) and for Carter to, for heaven's sake, get close to the QB occasionally. Also, I think it might be time for the Skins to let Rocky show why we traded so much to get him.
I would like to thank Burgundy N Gold for resurrecting one of my all-time favorite Simpsons moments. I needed that today!
