BRANDON NOT SO NOBLE?

In the wake of comments by Redskins defensive tackle Brandon Noble that he's seemingly willing to accept that he won't return from a serious knee injury over the weekend, some NFL insiders are criticizing Noble's apparent "take the money and retire" attitude.

“It’s something you have to think about,” Noble said regarding possibly retiring from the game. “But I’m not worried about it. If I don’t come back, then I made it a lot further than anyone thought I would. It’s going to be a long, long road back — if it’s even done.”

Per one league source, "Even if you think you can't come back, act like you will make every effort to do so. It sounds like he is giving up."

The problem for the Redskins is that they can't recoup the $1.8 million signing bonus if Noble never returns due to the injury, and they'd be required to negotiate an injury settlement for the remainder of his four-year, $7 million contract.

What's wrong with him saying what he said when almost everyone else with knowledge of the extent of his injury is saying the same thing?

Give me a break.....

I dont believe he would get an injury settelment if he doesnt come back. That is for players who are cut while injured but that will in time be able to play again. So that a team doesnt cut every player that gets hurt to get out of the contract. Skaggs got a settlement This is just another attempt to make the skins look bad by pro football talk.

This guy just suffered a career threatening injury. Cut him some slack. He was the one on the field looking at his mangled knee. I don't know what the problem is with taking an honest look at your future. I think this has more to do with an attack on Dan Snyder's aggressive approach to the offseason and people wanting to see it backfire on him.

The guy is 29 years old and has only played for 5 years, I guess people think he could return from the injury at his age.
