What is going on? Over the past 6 or 7 years we have been so cursed at the DT position...
Sean Gilbert - Got some picks for him but what a waste of talent...
Dana Stubblefield - HUGE BUST
Dan Wilkenson - Almost as big of a bust
Santana Dotson - Didnt even play a down
Brandon Noble - Played just as much as Santana...
This is pathetic...

We're like Chunky Soup or the Madden cover when it comes to DT.

I can go back even earlier, Bobby Wilson, 1st round draft pick in 1990 out of Michigan State, never lived up to his billing.

Elway did okay in spite of Chunky soup, but I agree, nobody in our FO has seemed serious about filling that crucial role. What are the chances we could dish out Trotter for a DT. I think I'd do that in a heart beat. Maybe two, but it would be pretty fast.

Why are you so down on Trotter..I think he will be very good this year if not dominant. He was leading this team in tackles before he got hurt.

I agree with TexSkin. IMO the reason Y so many people are so down with Trotter is due to his cap figures and he's a former eagle.

For some reason the Skins have never liked young DT. Bobby Wilson was one of the few but IMO, there were much better DT to be had in that draft in the later rounds. BW was over rated by everone - but that can happen.
All the others have been high $ low production aquisitions. The only one that really did good for us we let go this year (DG).

Powell also was a good backup. Maybe on the long run, he will be the missing link...

It just seems to me that Snyder does not consider the position important because he never has thrown any type of money on it. It may not be a high profile position but it sometimes means the difference betwen 10-6 and 8-8.

D. Gardner was good for us last year, and K. Lang was solid one year. but the others overshadow these ones

I remember the year we signed big daddy and Stubblefield, and how happy I was to at last get some well known talent at dt.
we all know how that turned out! maybe some of our young guys will stepup and and make names for themselves.

if we let champ actually leave us we could sign jevon kearse because i dont think the titans will be able to resign him next year.

The front office just doesn't seem to care. They'll give Coles a 13 million dollar bonus (Coles is a great player) without realizing that a. we have many other wholes to fill b. if you have wholes on the d-line, that's the first thing you fill.
To their credit, they did actually look at the offensive line.

Haley
Canida
Hosley
Chase
Two of these will be our starters....
Might as well play a 2-5 formation defense....
