Yeah, this makes no sense at all! You would think with their record, that they would want their playmakers on the field. Just stupid if you ask me!

i am thinking he pulls a Brady or Elway...get an endorsement deal and sit out year...problem is that Oakland will probably be the worst team still.

Brady? Do you mean Henson? Elway never sat out a year, he just made a threat to play baseball, which he could have, though he likely would have squandered his career, like Henson did. Also you have to remember what a tyrant Al Davis is. He would likely not back down to any threat and draft the player anyway. Then, like you said, he would be vulnerable to be drafted again by Oakland if he refused to sign the first time.
If I were Quinn, I would just not worry and take the money. He can always get his career going once he is dropped by Oakland.
