It was the Skins turn to be torn apart by the ESPN staff.
Didnt say anything we didnt already know... but surprisingly said that Coles will not have the same success that he had with the Jets.
Predicted us not even competing in the NFC East this year.
Odds to win Superbowl are 22-1... and they gave us a negative vote on that as well.
Im not feeling too well.

the closer the season gets the more worried im getting. Our schedule is tougher and if SS struggles this year hell either want to leave or Danny will start telling him how to coach.

If we can somehow stop the run, I'll breathe easier.... Hell, find one of the Hogettes and suit him up, anything just to clog the middle, even if only enough to allow Trotter a clean shot.

Its like i stated on another post this(lack D-line) is going to hurt us
all year and its not like the offense seems to be a work of art yet.So with this schedule im very concerned.

In the Dan Snyder era, we will not get any respect until we go out on the field and take it. Until then, don't be surprised that we are being ripped apart. What have we done to earn any praise?

Even if we take we will still be ripped apart...

Dan is what is wrong with this team. God knows we don't need any turnover in the coaching staff but I'll bet Spunky is coaching arena league next year. As long as Dan owns the teamwe are screwed.:smash: :dalassuk:

I think The Daniel has been very detrimental in a lot of ways. He's also been very aggressive and I was pleased with him the ealy part of this offseason, but I don't think that outweighs the downside. He's young and aggressive, which is good, but he is pointed in a direction that is just off the mark and can't seem to correct it. Sadly, I can't see him selling the team anytime soon and he's too young to die anytime soon, so we may just have to ride it out.

I saw the ESPN Skins preview as well. It was the most negative one that I've caught. I'm not one of the guys in here that generally harps about the media picking on the Skins either.
Usually under BOLD PREDICTION, a comment like Minnesota's rookie RB will gain 1,000 yds is made first then a lesser remark that the team may not compete (although Schlereth actually said the Vikes could win their division.) With the Skins, it was flat out, "This team will not compete in the NFC East this season." This was coming from Schlereth, a former Skin. Then Hammering Hank chimes in with that 'negative' comment after the odds. I just thought it was a little harsh. Its not like we're the damned Cardinals that won't be able to field a team. I don't think they mentioned Champ or Lavar either.

Let them talk and try to sell papers. Hope we'll be the winning underdog!

I've learned to ignore ESPN. They are a bunch of idiots(cept Kirk Herbstriet but he's college). I really don't care if we get respect from the outside. Just means some people will be shrugging us off as a non-contender. Remember, the Rams were going to win it all last year. The experts are full of shit plain and simple. Any Given Sunday my friends, any given Sunday. Remember when the final gun blows, the only thing that matters is the score on the scoreboard, not what the experts said.

Jaws is pretty cool as well....to be a Skins fan you have to have thick skin or not read the sports editorials these days it seems.

I hoped our starting RB runs for more yards then Stephen Davis ever did for us so we can stick it to ESPN about how our running game will suck.
What I thought was interesting was that Spurrier is 18-1 in season openers, only lose was when he was at Duke, and we know how bad Duke is.

the only ESPN Football analyst i respect is John Clayton...i think it's because he's on the outside looking in...he's not an ex player and doesn't claim to be the all out answer to everything. he's straight and to the point...
herbstreit is ok too...he's a tad annoying to me right now...i've been playing NCAA Football 2004 and he and Corso can get irritating.

Schlereth is a dumba$$. I dont get it his bold predictions at all. He said onterrio smith, an unproven mid draft pick rookie, will have a very big impact on his rookie year...... but he basically said trung is going to suck badly. He also basically said that kurt warner sucks and marc bulger has to take the team on his shoulders.... ahhh i cant take this crap... why does everyone criticise us.

I don't really mind what they say or print.... I just hope everyone of the other teams were watching......so that they can sleep  on us.
I think we are gonna be ok. We better win on Sept. 21st!!!

they don't respect us. So we just need to prove to ESPN that we deserve more respect, we need to come out with a bang against the Jets. then at worse go 4-2 in our division.

those guys don't know anything special or more than we do ... they are just "pretty" commercially appealing football fans ...
and we're not usually distracted by egos the size of theirs ...
my guess is they are as clueless as anyone else .. if not more so

its always negative noise about the skins. but we all know these experts are only experst because they have played in the NFL. they dont know each team in and out. they just know about the NFL, that doesnt make them experts. if you ask me, i say we fans are the REAL experts.

I saw the report, but felt that ESPN did very little Home work, and to have the two resident Idiots comment (Golic & Schlereth).
They reported the top position battle to be at QB and that the worst off-season move was the departure of Stephen Davis.
I would say that they are wrong on both counts. The worst off-season move has to be the loss of Darryl Gardnener and the only REAL position battle has been at RB.
I would like to tell Mike Golic to just Fut the Shuck up.

Tony Kornheiser says that we might be playing poorly purposely for teams not to take us seriously in the regular season.

Tonedog and Hailyeah, you've hit the nail right on the head, as far as mentioning Schlereth praises of Onterrio Smith.... Why would he "hype up" Smith and then dismiss the 'Skins running backs.... I, honestly think the 'Skins have a quite formidable backfield.... On the other hand, albeit preseason, Smith hasn't been the talk of training camp.... Not to mention, Hammerin' Hank Goldberg and his whack prognostication of the Vikings and 'Skins.... Color me bias, but I do not think the Vikings will have a better team than the 'Skins.... Goldberg just totally dissed the 'Skins! I agree that the 'Skins doesn't deserve any respect until they prove something.... But... Once again, this is just another slap by the "so-called" guru's on the 'Skins because of some type of dislike to Snyder and probably, Spurrier.... That is why I can't wait for the day the 'Skins make all naysayers place a padlock on their freakin' tongues! The day of reckoning is coming soon.

Knowing Spurrier... I have wondered that myself.

I think he was just trying to be funny. We have real concerns there.
