Yeah, I probably overdid that trade a bit, but I still ended up with what I wanted. I shored up some areas I needed help in, and i think my lineup is better post trade. What do you guys think? Yeah, I definately didn''t expect Biedrins to continue this hot streak....oh well. It doesn't help that Frye got hurt the very next game after the trade, either. I'm still pretty strong up front I think, as long as D Howard keeps putting up monster numbers. I needed backcourt scoring, and Redd definately fits the bill. It'll be interesting to see how it turns out. I wonder if she would have done Morrison/Wally for Redd and just left out the big men altogether?

It's not the flashiest lineup you'll ever see, but I really like how this team is constructed. Everyone has their place, and I don't feel like there is a single statistical category I am seriously deficient in. FT%, TO, and AST/TO have been problems, but with trading Howard and replacing him with a good % shooting Lee, I think that is cured. I hope Calderon keeps getting minutes now that TJ Ford is back, but even if he doesn't, I still think I'm okay. I was just hoping to weather the storm while Redd was out, but my guys have been tearin' it up without him. As far my competition, Smoot and Akh's squads look the toughest, but CNY, GMU, and Green Machine are lurking as well. We'll see how it all shakes out, but regardless, I've really enjoyed playing this year. Here's to an injury-free second half:beer:

I think I made out better in the deal, but those ratings aren't even close to accurate. Terry's is too high, Roy's WAY too low, Lee's just about right, and Howard too low. Honestly, I think it helped both myself and AKH, but I'm definately happy with my end of it. Howard has been killing my FT, TO, and AST/TO almost single handedly, and Iwas able to replace his rebounding with someone who has more OREBS and averages only about half a total board less per game...not too shabby. As for Roy, he has been playing very well of late, especially in FGM and PTS, but those are areas I'll be able to overcome with the return of Redd. THe one area of production I'm concerned about is blocks, but as long as Camby/Bynum/Nene stay healthy I should be good to go.

I actually think I might be in trouble. My next three games are agianst the top 3 opponents. I lost all three matchups there last time around to a tune of a combined 11-31. I don't thik Mao coming back will help me untilthe playoffs so I am in trouble.

If history repeats itself Akh could easily make up the 12.5 game lead I have on him.

Ok with two weeks left the playoff race has gotten interesting indeed:

The top 3 teams remaing the same (String Music, Green Machine, and Smoot). Green Machine tumbled out of the top spot without Wade but I doubt he can fall so far as to not make the playoffs. String Music and Smoot both posted big wins and will probably get the first round byes.

So that leaves the bottom 3...or should I say 4 now (The Bullish Lakers, CNYSkinFan, GMU-trkstars, Akhbots). As I thought last week Akh is closing ground fast. The Bullish lakers bet me 9-5, which ois pretty good for me since I am limping around without my top 3 players from the draft (MIng, Crawford, Peja) all gone for the rest of the season it seems. GMU got spanked by Smoot and Akh spanked green machinge last week.

This weeks matchups:

Akh is now only 3 games out of the playoffs and plays the miserable Les Boulez this week.

CNY and GMu play each other, if either loses big then Akh will probably take their playoff spot.

Smoot PLays Green Machine and can really compound his recent woes.

String Music and Bullish Lakers play. String music going for the bye and #1 seeed, a decent series can put Bullish lakers in the playoffs.

Time for your not asked for but I dont care Fantasy Bball update. Two weeks to go and 7 teams vying for 6 playoff Spots.

What was once a 3 man race for the bye week in playoffs is now a 2 team lock. Smoot and String music may jostle for the top spot over the next two weeks but barring a major collapse by either should be our #1 and #2 seeds as they have opened a 10+ game lead on the rest of the pack.

The bottom 5 now fight for the 4 remaining playoff spots. With only 14 games eperating all 5 it is really anyone's race. The Green Machine falls from grace since the injury to Wade and is now in third place. The Bullish Lakers had a surprisingly good week against the league leaders and remained in 4th. CNY rode Mao's comeback into 5th place. As prediceted AKH mad a push to climb into the 6th spot, and GMU falls out of the playoff spots into 7th with a poor weak.

So here is what is coming up this week:

CNY vs. Green Machine: Both have to avoid losing big and they can cement their spot in the playoffs. If either wins big the winner will most certainly be in while the loser coukld be in trouble.

Akhbots vs. Brick City: Any hope of a miracle run toi get into the playoffs by Brick City will have to start this week, and what better way then against the guy who holds that last playoff spot.

Smoot vs. Les Boulez: Smoot needs a big victory to keep #1 seed.

String Music vs. GMU: GMU is fighting for a playoff spoot, String for the top seed.

Bullish Lakers vs Bfauble83: A strong win by the bullish lakers will guarantee a playoff spot.

The Blonde Squad vs. Naked Jumpers: Loser has to buy Akh bourbon. Someone has to.

Ok guys here it is...the last week and we got some real barn burners out there for the playoffs. Lets see how things stand:

The Safe: Smoot and String Music.
Both these guys have clinched playoff seats. Smoot most liekly will be the #1 seed, and barring a collapse String Music will grab the #2 spot and get byes in the playoffs.

The Semi-Safe: The Bullish Lakers, Green Machine, CNYSkinFan
Barring major collapses these guys are in. They may joust for position but they should all be pretty safe.

The Bubble: Akh-Bots & GMU-Trkstars
These guys are fighting for the last spot in the playoffs. With only /.5 games seperating them it is quite simple, the person who does better this week gets in. Brick City could get in if and only if Both these guys tank and he virtually sweeps his opponent.

So here are the final matchups:

CNYSkinFan vs. Les Boulez: Ming's comeback definitely came just in time. though it must be noted two days After CNY picked up Ryan Gnomes he went down with a mysterious foot injury The curse of death for an NBA player is to be put on my squad.

Smoot vs. Brick City: Brik needs alot of help and it does not help he is going against the #1 team in the league.

String Music vs. green machine: Green Machine continues to limp on without Dwayne Wade. Can they eek out a few more wins to stay in the playoffs?

Bfauble83 vs GMU_TrkStars: GMU had a valiant comeback last week places him in a vitrtual tie with Akh. Will Allen Iverson and Carmelo choose now to start getting along?

The Bullish Lakers vs Naked JUmpers 43: Bullish Lakers could make a run at a bye with a blowout and a collapse byu String Music. Not likely but it could happen.

Ok so the playoffs are heare, and the loser of the playoff race was Akh. He chose Love over fantasy sports glory. Loser :)

Smoot as expected stayed on top of the standings and will get a week off, same with String Music who finishged strong to remain in 2nd place.

The playoffs are in full swing. I beat up on the wade less Green Machine last week advancing to the final four. And in a mild surprise, after barely making it into the playoffs, GMU-Trkstars took out 3 seed Bullish Lakers in a squeaker.

So here are the playoff matches for this week

I think I have been one of the hottest teams since Mao's return, however Smoot has been the best team all season long. CNY surprisingly holds the regular season lead 17-11, but most wins were before major injuries to at least 2 players (Crawford & Peja) who are out for the season. Can Mao bring an upset win, or will Smoot roll over me like he has the entire league this season?

GMU Trkstars vs. String Music

These two split the regular season 14-14. However GMU sneaked into the playoffs while String Music has been in the top three all year long. It's Drik Nowitzki & Jason Terry vs. Steve Nash & Carmelo Anthony. Could be a nail biter.

I've been scouring the net trying to figure out if Redd is going to play tonight and all I can come up with is that he's questionable. I'm gonna take my chances and put him in my lineup. Ive got some awesome matchups tonight...Dal and Den play each other, Mem vs GS, Mil vs Atl....sould be some high scoring games.

Or should I say Championship 10-day period. We wrap up the last games on the schedule. Lets review what happened last week. In a major upset 4 seed CNYSkinfan advanced past top seed Smoot blowing him out 10-2. Smoot's team was the runaway champion of the regular season and CNY finished 21 games behind him. However CNY credits the remarkable play of Gerald Wallace and the return of a somewhat healthy Yao mIng for his run into the playoffs. And in one of the tightest matches of the playoffs 2 seed String Music eeked by 6 seed GMU-trkstars 8-6. Literally 1 extra steal or 2/100 of a percentage better in FG% would have swung it towards GMU.

So now it is CNYSkinFan vs. String Music. During the reg season String owned CNY winning both matchups by 9-19. However if they played each other last week CNY would have eeked out a victory 7-6. With 10 days instead of 7 the championship is leterally a toss up at this point. String brings Dirk Nowitzki, Michael Redd, and Jason Terry to the table and CnY brings Yao Ming, Chris Bosh, and Gerald Wallace to play.

I cant believe I survived that week. The lack of competant journalism in Milwaukee nearly killed me. I couldn't get an injury report, a quote, even specualtion as to Redd/Williams/Boykins status. Every move I made between those three was wrong...I ended up gettig zip from any of them. Then I got a bad report on Josh Howard for Sat, and Dirk/Terry didn't do much either. That was probably my worst week all year, but look out CNY, I'm feeling much better about this week. Should be a great battle. Can we :beer: to an injury free week?

I don't know about that. We are close in quite a few categories, there's plenty that can change. Not only is Dirk out tonigt, but Avery Johnson said he would be resting other starters the rest of the way. I will have to be careful depending on Dirk, Terry, and Howard the rest of the way. Depending on how Friday goes, I may even have to drop one of them.

Don't feel bad, I only got a combined 6 points and 8 assists from Redd, Mo, and Boykins last week in my lineup. On my bench were 119 points and 19 assists from the same three. I could not have mismanaged them any better than I did, lol.

I feel your pain, brother, I feel your pain. I think since the Rockets clinched the 4 seed last night they should go ahead and let Yao rest up for the playoffs. I churned a bunch of guys on my roster, and I am not playing Dirk, Howard, or Terry, or Camby for that matter. SHould be interesting ,lol.

Yeah, I think that would be better for the game overall. Its the same reason why I always end m fantasy football playoffs in week 16. There are till some issues to deal with at that time, but not neary as many as the last week of the season.

All that aside, you did very well CNY. To withstand the injuries you had during the regular season and tough it out all the way is impressive. You deserve the win, congratulations. :beer:
