Well, my son Rajaun along with the rest of his 65lb teammates for Kettering-Largo-Mitchellville are now 5-0-1 and sitting in 1st place in their division. Other then a 6-0 win and a 0-0 tie, they have been putting up alot of points in their victories. Here are a few pics of my son in action.....

Nice pics, Kenny! How many TD's does Rajaun have?Actually, he hasn't scored any this year yet. He's the backup tailback and he gets the most of his time on the offense playing TE and FB. The pictures above were from his best run this year, which went for about 45yds. He would have scored if he had a little more blocking, but he wound up being tackled after being surrounded by 4 defensive players. So far in practice this week, they have been working alot on him chipping the DE then running about 10yds and out, which he has taken to the house a few times. Maybe he'll get his first TD this week on that play.

That's cool. I remember when I played at his age, I was a FB that didn't get many carries and I didn't score. Then they moved me to Tackle and our RB, that I could outrun, scored 9 TD's running behind me.

That's a great progression in the pics. You can see him turning the corner on #75.

Oh, and props to your blockers!

Well, my boys have earned a spot in the county championship game next Saturday by beating Glenarden 19-13 tonight. The game is 6pm at the PG Sports and Learning Complex (next to FedExField) next Saturday if anyone is interested. Rajaun had a solid game. He made a few tackles, including one with under a minute to go in the game that stopped what looked to be a big gain as Glenarden was driving to attempt to take the lead.
BTW, I forgot to tell you guys that he did indeed get his first TD two weeks ago on a FB blast play, which he ran for about 45yds. I expected him to hoot and holler after his first TD. His reaction? He simply flipped the ball to the ref and acted as though that wasn't his first time in the endzone during a game.
That's my boy.....

At least I can say I got to see a team with a defense yesterday. I went to Ra's game and the little guys actually play defense unlike some other team I'm a fan of. On one play, one of the CB's contained a stretch play. It was textbook technique.
I think Rajuan has been watching Sellers alot. Sticks with his blocks to the very end.

I think that CB would be an immediate upgrade over Rogers. Is there any way to get him to Redskins Park?

Phenomenal. Great, great stuff Kenny. I get all warm and fuzzy inside looking at those pictures man. It must be a super proud feeling watching your boy do his thing. Congrats man. Keep on doing what most men run away from now-a-days: being a great father.

Kenny i was in tears, and tried my best to hold them back...esp during the Ports town game....the ref gives them 4 timeouts leading to a TD right before the half, then the RB pushes the QB in the endo zone one ref calls a penalty and the other overrides him...the the Ports Town coaches admitted they gave them 4 time outs.....
then at the last game of the season, the ref that was threatned by another parent on the other team and didn't want to come back out for our second half....to they cancelled the 2nd half.
Unbelievable....

Kenny, don't forget about your son's blocking skills. That block you showed me on video a couple of weeks ago was WICKED.
BTW, I "accidentally" called you the other day, in case you were wondering. I am still trying to master the little "mousewheel" on my Sidekick 3, lol.
Congrats to your son and his teammates!

ummmm... wow! You should have counter-threatened the ref and told him that if he didn't come back out, you'd do much worse than the other parent would.

that is not the way you end a season esp when you're tied at the half and then can't play it....

Well, sad to report that we fell short on Saturday. Final score was 26-0, which made it even tougher for the boys. Rajaun struggled all week to get himself psyched up to play against alot of his friends on the other KLM team, and it showed during the game. He cried like a baby after the game, and I have to admit that I did too when he wasn't looking. He kept saying to me "Daddy, I wanted to win the championship..." It was gut wrenching to say the least, but of course 9-1-1 is a great season. As I explained to him, he has daddy beat because I never made it to a championship game in all my time of playing youth and HS sports.

Kenny I feel your pain as well.....when we lost our Championship 3 years ago, I cried as well. It's really hard when you can't do anything to help fix that type of pain in your child. The only thing is to just support, support, support..hey congrats to you all. I know you represented the Black and Gold well...
again congrats buddy....

Congrats to Ra and the rest of the KLM #1 team. 9-1-1 is not a bad season at all and I got to see a couple of the games. I plan to see more of the games next season.
