Yeah, it's very interesting. I'm surprised they said it won't be a counter offer just comments saying wants wrong with the first offer.

I think at this point, Champ wants to see how much the Skins will move and much he really is wanted, compared to the front office trying to "show" the fans they are trying.

Good point. If I was Champ I would go to Snyder and say hey, you were aggressive in bringing in all those FA's in the offseason, so what about me. I've been here for several years, played at a very high level each season, am considered one of the best in the league at my position, oh and by the way, I've represented the team in the Pro Bowl on several ocassions. So, what are you gonna do for me?

Good call. I don't understand Snyder's negotiation process at all. He gave low figures to Davis and Jansen too. Why do that to your best players? Sure it'd be nice if they took it, but honestly, did he really think Champ would be amused, let alone impressed. Champ has every right to insist on the money he wants and it's ridiculous that Snyder would not put a solid offer on the table.

Champ is my favorite current Redskin but I am not putting all the blame on the FO with this deal. all Champ says is an $18 million bonus is a good place to start with his contract.
how about Champ and his agent give a deal to the Skins to look over. you can't really blame the FO for not starting out with a $20 MILLION signing bonus and a 10 year 100 million dollar contract. why over pay for him when they could maybe get him at a more reasonable price.
the Skins started negotiations with some numbers. they are numbers to get the process going that's all they are. I think Champ and his agent need to become more involved in the process not just sit back and tell the FO office wht is wrong with the proposal how about throwing out some numbers themselves

I have a feeling this will get done..When Snyder wants to keep a player it usually happens.

All hope is lost if we lose Champ.

I also feel Champ and his agent need to sep it up here... not simply poit fingers and wait for their deal to emerge. Show this team (and Dan Snyder) that you WANT to stay and it will help the process. Come on Champ.. dont get a Super Stars big head just yet!
(By the way... love the quote robert!)
