Heat get the holy censored by spence kicked out of them by the Bulls who look like they could be for real. Their front line rotation never seems to end and the interior defense is flat out scarey.

In other news, the Lakers beat the finese team without Kobe, Mihm or Kwame Brown. Andrew Bynum looking very impresive in his first start and Lamar is a monster. The Lakers wont win the title this year probably but with one more free agent signing next year and Bynum continuing to develope, I see hardware in the future if they can keep Phil. I see dark days in the future for Laker haters and I must stay im looking forward to it.

I know that it was only the first game, but it looks like the Bulls might be in the championship hunt for the next few years. Adding Wallace, and thanks to the inept Knicks, adding Tyrus Thomas.

OH YEAH BABY!!! I wanted to start this thread, but HR was down this morning...

The Bulls are back! I don't know that you can take much from one GLORIOUS thrashing of the defending champs, but I knew the second we added Ben Wallace that we'd at least contend. I hope last night was just a sign of things to come!! Did anyone notice the Bulls set an NBA record for the biggest margain of victory over a defending NBA champion? OH YEAH!!!! I am actually going to have to figure out a way to see some games b/c the Bulls are going to be fun to watch this season. Maybe we can get a group together when they come to DC?

The NBA's new zero tolerance policy about complaining about calls is ridiculous.

I'm a Bulls fan too smoak, i missed the game but caught the highlights and after suffering through a decade of them being average to way below average has been tough. It is nice to see them comee out and look so good, even if it was just the first game.

I guess we should expect all the early 90's Bulls fans to dig their gear out of the closet.

Yeah, I never watched the NBA before Jordan and when he left my interest started to deminish... Losing I can handle (I'm a fan of the Phillies, Bulls, Redskins, and Maple Leafs), but what I can't tolerate is lack of effort. The Bulls finally seemed to nab a good group of exciting young players so they should be decent for awhile. Oh and they locked up Hinrich (don't know the details yet). I hated how we didn't keep Jordan around in some capacity, but it looks like we've finally started to put things together.

I MIGHT even have to look into getting tickets when they play the Sixers... Now where is that Rodman jersey I have??? :D

You're probably right Dave, I have followed the Bulls since their reign with Jordan ended though. Through Elton Brand, Jason Williams and all the other trades and disappointments they've been through. I'm not as passionate about them as I am the Skins, NCSU or the Braves but I still consider myself a fan and not a bandwagon one either...lol.

HECK YEAH!!! What is wrong with that? Not everyone has to be an avid fan as long as they don't change teams (IMO).

Personally, I am not an avid NBA fan and readily admit that my interest is increased when the Bulls at least show some heart. It isn't the losing, but the pathetic lack of effort that killed my interest. Only two team in my life are above any loss of interest... The Redskins and Tar Heels.

And as a sport, the NBA is still last on my list of interests, but I'll still watch games on occasion.

Exactly! I was actually excited during the Elton Brand era (if you can call it that) and it ticked me off when they traded him. Even though he was from Duke... :D

I'm with ya smoak, i thought Brand was a nice start and had they kept him we might have been a contender sooner rather than later...even if he was a blue devil...lol.

Sorry guys but I think having your interest ebb and flow with the team's successes is the same thing as jumping on the bangwagon. I know there are plenty of tepid Yanks fans who become more "loyal" when they are winning who get called on it. Same for most Capitals fans.

Big deal, it's just one game. If the whole season was one game, why would they play the other 81 games? So Laker and Bull fans, don't get to excited. Wizards can still kick your sorry **CENSORED BY SPENCE**

Well we can agree to disagree (as usual ;)), but I definitely do not see that as the same as changing teams. I freely admit I am not as fanatical about the Bulls (or anything) as I am about the Redskins.

But re: the Caps, they are not really winning much, right?... I thought it was just AO that has people excited? How did they do last year (I really don't remember them making the playoffs)? To me it isn't about winning and losing exactly... The Bulls didn't win anything with Brand, but they were fun to watch and played hard. The same goes for this team. I was into them before they signed Ben Wallace and he was my favorite player in the league. I tend toward defensive players in every sport.

What strikes me as ironic is that the Yankees probably have the biggest bandwagon base in all of pro sports. But I imagine that irritates you more than it would a non-Yankee fan when it gets to the point where tickets are scarce b/c of the "sudden interest". At least that is what bugs me about the Redskins... People came out of the woodwork last year and I lost all my usual room to dance around in the row and bang on chairs.

LMAO!!! I have an all black Redskins one (it was a gift as I prefer burgundy and gold).

Oh and there was actuall a dallass fan at the game last week wearing a Zubaz shirt. That was the worst fashion statement ever.

I can see why you'd feel that way Dave, but I disagree somewhat. To me people that jump on the bandwagon don't tend to follow their respective teams at all...until they win, or tend to jump on several other teams bandwagons depending on how well their teams doing. I've always maintained that the NBA is at the bottom of my most loved sports, even when Jordan reigned I followed the skins, wolfpack and braves with more dedication.

Yes it's one game, hense the thread title and there seems to be alot to be excited about. I'm not predicting a title in tinsle town but the Lakers look in pretty good shape if Bynum plays like that all season long. Only thing that needs to happen is Odom HAS to stay aggressive when Kobe comes back. He was an absolute monster tonight and not alot of people can claim that when matched up with Shawn Marion. If Odom keeps it up teams like the Spurs and Kings won't be able to put Artest and Bowen on Kobe.
