Hi,

I am a life long Redskins and will, finally, go to my first live game on Sunday.

Can anyone tell me about how long it well take to drive and park at FedEx from my hotel in Falls Church? Any suggestions on shortcuts, etc.? I have a red parking pass.

Thanks.

Go Redskins!

I'd advise you to leave early and get there when the gates open. That's around 9am for a 1pm game. You shouldn't face any traffic then. I'm not sure how long it takes from Falls Church but I'm guessing between 30-45 minutes depending on how you drive.

Can you give an intersection in Falls Church that you would be leaving from or one close by.

Re: the driving time, try mapquest.

Do you have a parking pass, and if so, what color is it? As H2S said, the key is to get there REALLY early. Don't chance beign stuck in the late rush traffic.

Leave your hotel at 8:30am and get on the outer loop of the beltway(495) heading towards Baltimore. Once you cross the Wilson Bridge into MD, you will go about 5-7 miles, then look for exit #16, Arena Dr. That will take you right in, the Red lots are the first ones on the left.
Bring the noise!

This is the best advice. Anything else could get you lost. Be prepared to hang out after the game since the Beltway will be a mess.

Egads. I just thought this - How would you like to be an 18-wheeler trucker on the Beltway hitting after-game traffic? What a nightmare.

My advice would be to leave the game during the third quarter, just to avoid the traffic back to Falls Church. Will make all the difference. If I go to Auburn games, I usually leave early. I'm too old to suffer traffic.

Get off on Exit 16, Arena Drive. Red lots are right there. Leave sometime between 8:30 and 9:45, depending on how much tailgating you want to do.

So let me get this straight..he should leave his hotel at around 8:30, which is 4 and a half hours before the game, make his way in uncharted (for him) territory to the stadium, after having paid god knows how much money for the ticket, the parking, the hotel, etc. etc., just to LEAVE IN THE THIRD QUARTER??? Against Dallas? What if the score is tied? What the heck is the point of going at all in that case???

Thanks to everyone. My hotel is right off 495. I will be following everyone's advice, except for leaving in the 3rd quarter. This is my first and possibly only chance to go to a game and its Dallas. I'll be there until they chase me out.

In response to the question, my tickets are in Section 122, Row 1.

With those seats in the lower level, you should be able to leave at the end of the game, get to your car and be gone before the traffic gets all snarled up.
Good luck and enjoy yourself.

Craigjjsif you need a place to hang out after the game to pass the time, head over to the green lot (D-2) section C-21.

I said in a prior post that I had a red parking lot pass and was told it was the first lot after entering. I made a mistake. I have a green pass. Is that good or bad?

Thanks,

It's better than the Red pass, you are closer to the stadium. Just follow the same directions that you have been given and follow the diagrams on the signs for parking. Also, the parking attendents will show you where to go.

if you need a place to hang out after the game to pass the time, head over to the green lot (D-2) section C-21.
This is Green Pass territory. You can party with the Funky 4 and the rest of the band.
This area is also located next to the players parking lot,in case your looking to score autographs.
