Running back Ladell Betts, who has missed the first two preseason games with a sprained left elbow, has been cleared to play in Saturday's preseason game against Baltimore, the Washington Times reported. Head coach Steve Spurrier said that despite missing so much time, Betts is not out of the running for at least a share of the starting job, and he figures to receive plenty of rushing attempts on Saturday.
Finally, Betts gets a shot to heat up our RB battle.

He has no time to spare. He must show a lot on Saturday. IMO, Trung and Kenny played very well last Saturday.

I hope he does well of couse IF he has a good showing it's going to interesting to see who is kept. I don't think we'll carry all four of them (TC, KW, LB, CM).

Since it looks like we wont trade for a RB I think we are gonna keep 4 rb's.

I really like Betts, he reminds me of S. Davis a little. He tough and quick.... I thought he looked better than Watson last year....

I hope he performs well so we can trade him. We need a DT. I've never been high on Betts and thought it was a ridiculous use of a 2nd round draft pick in 2002, when we had pressing needs elsewhere and a 1400 yard back on the team already.

Drafting him at #2 was a prelude to the team preparing to have to release Davis at the end of the year. In addition, he was probably rated that high on their board, so they were drafting under the best player available philosophy rather than drafting for need where you have a tendency to reach on a player, i.e. Andre Johnson in 1996 and every single Bungles first round pick of the 1990's. I'm rambling, and in the wrong forum too......

I really don't see this happening now that we have signed/ traded for 4 DT's, with a 5th on IR, plus looking at keeping 6 WRs. I think one of the RB's may be on audition. Betts would probably bring the highest value in a trade via being a 2nd round draft pick.

:( I don't care who ends up as part of the RB corp............I haven't seen Coach Spurrier show me how he is going to use the RB corp - BUT We need to have one good RB we can trade for a DT - like Keino said!!!! We could have the best damn RB's in the league, but with no outstanding DT - we're hurting!!!

Yup, it will be good to see Betts on the field. I personally like the tandem of Betts/Watson, i think they both deserved a shot at the main RB this year, they earned by doing a decent job last season. Betts is gonna be good, i think they should hang on to both. If we trade a pick and RB for any DT, i say admit the mistake and ante up Trung.

Well, it looks like any further moves for DT's are out based on Cerratos comments after the latest bottom barrel DT trade yesterday. Thus, there's no further need for a trade bait conversation.
I'm excited to see how Betts does vs the Ravens. Even though he has missed a ridiculous amount of time, one great performance that displays his superior every down back capabilities could land him the starting job. I'm basing this on Spurrier's comment saying that Ladell still had a shot at winning the job. That tells me that Spurrier wants Betts to come out and dazzle and win the job as the others are not really starter material. Trung has had a whole camp and two games to wow his new boss and has apparently not done so if the door is still wide open.

I for one thought Trung looked good, averaging 5 yrds per carry against the Pats and would be happy and comfortable with Trung/Watson.
Trung is a home run hitter, I don't think Betts is........

Well, the Ravens is a hard team to come out and dazzle on. But it should interesting to see him back on the field. He'll probably get the runs that Watson got last week if Spurrier does it fairly. I still like Watson alot better.

I think Watson, regardless of how well he does, is the odd man out AND that's only IF we are NOT going to keep 4 hBs. And if a trade can't be made using him, we'll be going with all of them which would probably mean limited playing time for Morton at the TB spot.

Betts will have a tough time showing anything special against Baltimore. Very tough time.

I think Betts and Watson will do fine, pick up where they left off last year, It's Trung that needs to step up and make some starters noise

We will soon see. Regardless of who is running the ball, I want to see our O Line open some hole against the Ravens D Line. This will be a challenge for sure.

I hope Betts does well tonight...the guy showed alot of potential last year and seemed to run a little harder then Watson. Would love games like last year where both got 100 a piece. ;)
